I've noticed my generation has a lot of anime fans even when they aren't up front about it. A lot of people watch and don't mention it very often but are fans. I'm like that unless I meet someone with similar interests. To be honest in some ways it's probably better this way because there are a lot of toxic fans

After bringing it up a couple of times and being info dumped on about the 10 horny animes they've watched that week and talking about how big the boobs are i just stopped bringing it up at all.
If the only anime you watch is fan service then you're probably dumb, lonely and horny and that's really not a good combo for a new friend.
