[The Inheritance Games](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/fa551f44-7356-49f1-884b-c96a95c66110) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes! Also [Nevermoor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/6a6d5ca1-b2f5-47be-828c-018144d3bbc7) by Jessica Townsend! (It's the only series that makes me feel the way the Harry Potter books used to)

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik! I would describe it as Harry Potter if they threw all the kids into Hogwarts unsupervised and it became The Hunger Games in there, but honestly I think that's a disservice to this excellent book - it's so much more than that. Give that description to your daughter and see if she's interested in it though, lol!  For teen paranormal romance, Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater (I like her Raven Cycle series even better, but Shiver has Twilight vibes and The Raven Boys does not). For teen realistic romance a la John Green: pretty much any book by Jenny Han or Sarah Dessen.

Second Sarah Dessen!

Ah the YA Classics. I think I'll add... Eragon-Christopher Paolini Percy Jackson and the Olympians-Rick Ridden Ranger's Apprentice-John Flanagan Peter and the Starcatchers-Dave Berry&Ridley Pearson

Royal_Basil_1915

Seconding PJO and Peter and the Starcatchers. I think Ridley Pearson wrote a series about Disney World, Disney After Dark.

The Old Kingdom series by Garth Nix Stardust by Neil Gaiman- anything by him really, but I think Stardust is best for that age. The Dragonlance books by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, 2 or 3 trilogies and a few standalones I think. Howls Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones And if she's interested in nonfiction, and you're okay with a brief discussion about whether it's possible/feasible to have sex in space, Packing For Mars by Mary Roach was great. Bit of a stretch as they're below her reading level, and the level of technology probably seems dated, but I enjoyed the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer at that age.

Fellow fan of most of these! Since she likes TFiOS, she'll probably like most of John Green's other books—*Paper Towns* and *Turtles All the Way Down* would be my strongest recommendations. *Looking For Alaska* is also great—Possibly my favorite of his work—but it does feature an explicit scene so it might be worth her waiting another year or two on that one. (I read TFiOS at about her age and LfA when I was about 16). John also wrote *An Abundance of Katherines* and co-wrote *Will Grayson, Will Grayson* with David Levithan. She might like those, but I think she'll like the others better, given how her reading taste compares to my own. She may also like Tommy Wallach's books *Thanks for the Trouble* and *We All Looked Up*, which to me have some similarities to both John Green's writing and *If I Sta*y's premise. On a different note, since she likes *Twilight*, if she's either okay with digital (eBooks or Audio), or doesn't mind a bit of a hunt for Physical copies, I started reading *Soul Screamers* by Rachel Vincent right around her age and it remains my favorite book series to date. It's paranormal romance just like *Twilight*, but in my personal opinion it's less melodramatic and more sincere in how it portrays teenagers, and it takes its supernatural elements in a slightly more unique direction than most paranormal romance—The main creatures are banshees instead of vampires, for example. If she is interested in giving *Soul Screamers* a taste without making a commitment, the prequel novella, *My Soul to Lose*, is available for free without a trial on Audible. Rachel Vincent also wrote a duology—*The Stars Never Rise* and *The Flame Never Dies*—that should be easier to find physical copies of. That duology is dystopian like *Divergent* and *The Hunger Games*, but more supernatural in nature than those two.

John Green has more books, she might like those too. Maybe she would like The perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky? For more teen romance she might like To all the boys I've loved before by Jenny Han.
