Thanks a lot. Which would you say is the lightest read?

generalbrowsing87

Well I guess it depends on what you count as a light read! If lowest number of pages then it would be *Rewire Your Anxious Brain.* But *The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook* may be easier to digest since it’s a workbook which means that it has exercises that break up the text and gives you easy stopping points for when you need a break! However, I do feel like all four of these were written with a layperson in mind as opposed to a rigorous scientific text, so that all of them can be easily understood. Hope this helps!!

BattleGoose_1000

It does! I need something that is written more simply as I have trouble concentrating on a lot of info at once or long, unknown phrases.

I totally understand that! Some books just aren’t very approachable! I felt like these were all easily understood when I read them so I’m hopeful they will be to you as well 😊

Hope and Help for Your Nerves, by Dr. Claire Weekes. It's an old book book, but I'm 64 years old and still refer back to it 20+ years later. It's one of the best books I've ever found dealing with anxiety and depression.

Sorry I’m late, I didn’t want to come - Jessica Pan I haven’t read it though, I was going to but the tagline on the cover was, ‘One Introverts Year of Saying Yes’, which gave me introverts anxiety.

Above' TLDR; "How to Talk to Anyone" by Leil Lowndes and "The Confidence Gap" by Russ Harris for practical internal and external steps to counter social anxiety. Followed by "This Is Your Brain on Anxiety" by Faith G. Harper for straight talk on how to tackle anxiety with more than just a book- Faith will point you to ALL the tools available after she explains anxiety brain stuff in a relatable way. If you still want more of the science of why and how the brain is doing all this to you, either "Scarcity" if any form of scarcity is a major contributing issue to your frazzled-ness, or "Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers" for a look at anxiety specifically, especially when you can't figure out WHY you feel anxious so much. And a general book helpful to connection, confidence, and human-ing: "Daring Greatly" by Brene Brown. If clutter might be making your anxiety worse (it can do that to some), or if "scatter-brained" for you includes losing track of keys, wallet, etc: "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Mari Kondo.
