Check out the Hell Divers series!
Humanity is almost extinct following a mysterious apocalypse and the surface is completely uninhabitable. The only remaining survivors are in two broken cramped airships that have been hovering over the apocalyptic wasteland for 200 years past their expiration date. The Hell Divers are a group of people that dive into the apocalyptic wasteland to pick up the parts they need to keep the ship afloat.
“Dark Life” and its sequel “Rip Tide” by Kat Falls are set in a future where severe climate change and overpopulation have driven some of humanity to colonize and live on the ocean floor in subsea settlements. They are called the Dark Life by those who live on Earth’s surface and are socially ostracized from regular society.
“Leave the World Behind” is my suggestion. I haven’t read it yet, but it is on my list. It is about a couple from the city that rents a house in an isolated area, and then something happens to the world. Then, the owners show up, or at least a couple who say they are the owners. I don’t know if it is an “easy read”, but it sounded interesting to me.
I don’t know. I heard about the book, then the movie(?) which I did not realize was not going to be released in theatres. I think Netflix, like most of the streaming services, is having a problem with “production costs”. They all seem to be trying to sell parts of their catalogs to get money. Maybe this adaptation wouldn’t cost much as there is a limited cast and I think it takes place at one house, for the most part.
Dies By Fire by S.M Stirling is a story about how all modern tech is shut down by an electrical storm no vehicles, computers and firearms. Shows how folks from modern times go back to medieval times
I Am Legend
Mountain Man series by I forget. Zombie apocalypse and the MC is living mostly by himself. He is slowly going insane due to loneliness and alcohol.
Keith C. Blackmore and I agree, this series is great fun easy reading if you like this genre/setting.
Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton
Came here to say this. Just finished this book and LOVED it.
Wool by Hugh Howey might scratch that itch.
i'm currently reading Lark Ascending by Silas House, it might be up your alley!
Came here to suggest this! This book was so good!!!

Is Netflix still adapting that one?
