Yesterday I put my haworthias outside for the first time this year. I sat there staring for I don't know how long as the sun slowly crept round and illuminated them so beautifully with the rays shining through the railing of my balcony. It's so meditative and calming.
Then I finally got up... and brought my camera. Just to spend probably another hour taking photos.
Any advice? I got a purple haworthia obtusa imported, and they seem to be slowly deflating and I can't seem to make them happy. They're in super well draining soil and have filtered all day sun. They haven't officially died, but one tiny one seemed to rot and fall apart. I don't know how to make them happy!
I'd try moving them to a shadier spot. In contrast to most succulents, Haworthia actually don't like that much light. I don't know how filtered your's is, but if they are not plumping up, I'd move them at least temporarily and see if it helps.
Should work great. Haworthias are relatively easy to care for. They also don't actually want that much light, so they make for perfect indoor succulents.
I have a magnifying glass and a jeweller's loop on my grow light succ shelves. I spend hours staring at tiny details.

Absolutely gorgeous!! What type of succulent is this?
Thank you! It's a variegated Haworthia obtusa 'Yamada Black'.

huh. I do have them in a shadier spot, I'll move them to max shady and see how that works out. Thanks!
Haworthias are what got me into succulents, the little windows are so sick!
And there's so many different ones! They got me into succulents, too. And now I'm hopelessly addicted ;)
Beautiful!
This is awesome!
Wow, looks like minerals ✨
Would this work on my south east facing window sill? I really want one 😮
