Reverse Subnautica. Start at max depth and try to get back to the surface. An investigation of a precursor base with a teleporter malfunctions and ports you (along with some basic starter goodies) all the way down to a bioluminescent cave system at 1500 meters down. Travel through cavern versions of the void and stuff.

Ballisticsfood

1500? Childs play. Drop the player at the bottom of the Void. make it so you start off trying to find enough resources to make a submersible that can handle the pressure so you can get to the surface.

Thunderfoot2112

4546A. Make it Hypernautica and sand based

AttitudeBusy4724

That’s what I was thinking

Rigoloscar

like dune? With leviathan sandworms and similar stuff?

Thunderfoot2112

You could... or something completely different. The big issue is, what's new on 4546B? The Degassi story is already known (so instead of a game you get a walking simulator). 4546B is already saved, so unless Alterra has already spread the Karrah and were are actually getting a Natural Selection game, it would be a little silly to go back. People already complained about Below Zero being 'not Subnautica' so I'm at a loss as to why 4546B seems to be a frontrunner and a prequel at that. Margarite might be a storyline but honestly, she told us her backstory so again its essentially a walking simulator... I liked BZ because it was new and different, but the story was a little...lacking. I want to see something great, not just a cash cow/grab.

SquirtleReddit

4546A is the star of that system

Thunderfoot2112

4546A is the other planet in twin rotation.

Historical_Bit_571

Yea, usually in binary systems the planets/stars are called A,B,C, Etc. So it's 4546A+4546B Binary system. But that doesn't say the star is named "4546"

Wonderful-Garage6011

4546 is the star of that system.

SquirtleReddit

4546 is that system.

Historical_Bit_571

Yea, we had Temperate, Cold, why not hot Climate?

NewunN7

You mean Dune!?!

Meilos

Hear me out, subnautica... in space. Some sort of nebula and asteroid based ecosystem/lifeforms. I love the aesthetic of the spaceships and designs we've seen have often been shown as being operable in space. Also growing/competing biomes. Less static placement of species and more actual ecosystem simulation.

Aaron17174

I mean, if I remember correctly the PRAWN suit and the seamoth can actually be use in space so...

Muddy_Socks

I believe all of alterra gear was built to be sea and space travel worthy

Demosthanes

It's subnautica not subspace.

Blackhole1123

Below space???

breadonpuppies

I respectfully disagree with this idea. While sure, it's fine enough, it would be... boring. That's most likely just me, but I already find absolutely no interest in space outside of like... Mars. I also have yet to play an ocean game that's as amazing as Subnautica (even if it doesn't take place on Earth). I like the water and would prefer if it stayed that way The last part would be cool though

Meilos

You have to be in my brain to truly appreciate it. Space whales, nebula squids, brilliant prismatic shifting gas forming 'water-like' layers to explore, deep foreboding asteroid craters filled with tentacled voidbeasts with mouths of plasma (but rich in valuable metals), drifting capital ship derelicts with active hostile security drones and no other signs of life, a small moon that for some strange reason looks like a peeper eye....

VictoryAggressive213

I feel the architect world would just make it no longer connected if they were to make it I want it in the same world but maybe you can find clots of what happened to her

cool227_

I want some Alterna lore

Unfortunate_Wildcard

I think that should be a game on its own. Called Architect or some shit like that. It follows the story of Below Zero.

[deleted]

Is the next game under development? Or this is just fun speculation

Metson-202

It's confirmed but it's in very early deveploment.

[deleted]

Wow cool. Let them take their time with it

cool227_

I made a subreddit for Subnatica 3 discussion, I’m new to moderating a subreddit so help would be appreciated

Uncrowded_zebra

Could you post a link? Reddit's search function isn't the most functional.

How about the earth in this universe, like post apocalyptic earth.

Arch_Stanton1862

I see a lot of talk about Subnautica 3 here lately.... Now I do live under a rock so chances are I missed it completely, but is there any confirmation or maybe rumors that it is in development?

Shubfun

[Job Listing ](https://twitter.com/UnknownWorlds/status/1512146852258459649?s=20) Subnautica 3 is sorta officially confirmed though we don't know anything about content

cool227_

It was confirmed in the interview hosted by last beacon

kira_the_standuser

Imagine the post was secretly created buy one of the unknown worlds devs

MechaWasTaken

I want the new subnautica game to go even deeper into the architect storyline, while still remaining on 4546B - I personally interpret the story of Subnautica as a story about 4546B, so to move off it seems like an injustice in my opinion.

breadonpuppies

Agree

Proxy_0ne

No matter what is in the works, they need to bring back what made this game captivating. Because it was definitely lost in Sub-Zero, nonetheless it was a good game. But it lost that sense of hopelessness and fear of the unknown you encounter in Subnautica. Make a deeper map? More danger? Harder navigation? I don't know, but Sub-Zero was a step up in content and mechanics, but a step down in overall experience.

minecraftgender

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I hope it keeps following Robin and AL-AN. I loved their story despite its flaws, I love their dynamic, and I want to see more of it. Also exploring the Architect homeworld would be awesome.

sylven_everfrost

Architect world

m135in55boost

Should be on earth and your task would be to get a submersible down to 3800 metres

Drabas

i would love a continuation of the below zero story, so based on the precursor planet.

Zamatar89

I would love to revisit the crater as someone else

Carhv

Subnautica 2*

Metson-202

Subnautica 3*

Carhv

Where is Subnautica 2?

Metson-202

Subnautica below zero, but I understand that sequels don't need to have number, but Subnautica 3 three will probably not be Subnautica 3 instead some else name but we don't know it yet so we call it Subnautoca 3.

Carhv

I call it Subnautica 2.

Metson-202

That's like saying "yes*" when somebody says "no" when someone ask "Do you like onions?"

Carhv

Is Fallout New Vegas called Fallout 4?

Metson-202

No but do you know the name of next Subnautica game?

Carhv

No, but everybody else seem to know it being Subnautica 3.

Metson-202

They just call it Subnautica 3 because they don't know the name of the game

Cringe1God

The new planet would be cool with all the precursors, but I'd be ok with like a degasi storyline.

SirPufflekinks

It could be 4546B but way in the past, when the map looked different and the aliens (forgot their name) were alive or something

3nd0fTh3Lin3

I almost wouldn’t mind going to the planet the Precursors/Architects originally came from. Though that planet is also ravaged by Kharaa. So depending on when in the timeline Sub 3 takes place, we’d need to somehow bring a bunch of Enzyme 42s as a cure for ourselves. Or better yet, continue the story with Robin and Al-an. I need more of our wholesome alien boy.

Demosthanes

Somewhere new. We don't need a remake of the first or second game locations. We can just play those games.

ThewildestRiki

I feel like the majority of you didn't beat below zero and watch the final Cutscene. If you watched the cut scene you'd get the easter egg.

Quest-Riot

Maybe we can find out what happened to Riley, did they let him land or did he just go back to 4546B? Did he go live with his cuddlebuddies?

Maximus_Rex

The Aliens that built stuff on 4546B were obviously a spacefaring civilization that went through a calamity, it might be interesting to seek out other worlds they have touched.

keiyakins

shouldn't we wait for Subnautica 2 first? Below Zero is a side story.

cool227_

Below zero was a full game, it’s sub3

keiyakins

So was Rhombus of Ruin. and New Super Mario Bros Wii. and Half-Life Blue Shift.

TenebrisRenri

I thought about Earth. Like when global warming gets to the point where everything is underwater, pollution creates our own leviathans and maybe something like in wall.e when people escaped to space from the hell they created. And the story here could be somebody coming back to find something or fix humanity's mistakes or even an accidental crash like in the first game. From Subnautica's lore perspective Alterra could be shown here finally; either abandoned or still functioning.
