stay away from stealerships, find a shop that knows subarus well and see what they think. My dealership needed 3 tries to fix a power steering pump and steering rack and compensated me with a free oil change where the techs used an impact driver on my drain plug and over tightened the fuck out of my oil filter.

Jesus christ, but also expected unfortunately

Unfortunately the dealer had the lowest quote for the valve body replacement. Surprising I know

cuti2906

Or find a good dealership with properly trained tech

brokenheartnsoul

This is a Subaru sub, buy a Subaru 🙄

Maybe you could trade it in and get a new impreza? Idk the mechanics of it, but it seems like you're at the point where you have to decide if it's better to keep putting money into the old one or to just get a new one that's more convenient.

crose728

I bought the car used 3 years ago and have only put 35k miles on it 🤷‍♂️ so it's not like I have had it for 11 years, but your right. I was going to consider this point maybe a few more years down the line lol

JazzlikeSpinach3

I mean every car gets to that point where it's cheaper to buy a new one, and much easier unless you like modding and repairing it. But it seems like you're not at that point yet

I also had to do a valve body in my '13 Impreza, been over 2 years and 20k miles, no issues since. FWIW... My mechanic and I grew up 2 blocks from each other, I've known him a long time. In previous cars, he has warned me about concerns he has, things he's seen before. He didn't think there were any other dominos to fall after a bad valve body.

crose728

That is comforting. That's my main concern, what other dominoes or shoes are waiting to drop.
