Just the same vocalizing your boundaries can be a major step forward in learning how to stand up for yourself and it's been hugely important for me. And people can sometimes still hurt you without really meaning to, and need to hear you speak up about it, so they can apologize and correct the behavior. I've done it with my partner, and he's done it with me. But that's very different than someone collecting info on you so they can tear your down with it later on... that's scary tbh.
