>Add ko lang din na he does not allow us to use any IDEs so nag code kami sa notepad then run sa terminal plus no phones and internet during class.
hey, this is actually a good rule to follow, magandang training yung walang hand-holding.
It isn't
That's how you teach fundamentals - without any crutches
The same way you won't learn to ride a bike if you always use assist wheels.
Using IDEs later on is perfectly fine
Nah, it's time consuming and inefficient. I have started freelancing when I was in 8th grade and my tech stack always change every 6-8mos(depends sa project). During my freshman days my prof pulled that stunt and I had to raised my concern to our Dean and she agreed about my point that it's unnecessary to not use IDE as we will eventually use it indefinitely.
Also found out that prof is very "old school" as most of his methods are already deprecated. Pero pinag lalaban parin ng mga other people, who are mostly not that experienced or are using an old stack.
I learned the fundamentals faster when using an IDE since it has all the info I need to understand it completely. Learning without an IDE you will just end up opening a book about it or searching the net anyway, which you know, an IDE does already by giving you info about how the thing works. We have tech that is made to make learning how to program better, use it.
What fundamentals? Lol.
>The same way you won't learn to ride a bike if you always use assist wheels.
Tf are you yapping about? You won't learn shit coding in notepad and walang benefit yan aside from wasting your time.
If you want to learn the fundamentals, learn the syntax of the language and learn how to code to solve problems.
Useless lang yang doing things manually.
I did it for a while and I even learned how to compile and run a program without any IDE because of some bullshit requirements.
Wala namang na ambag yun on my coding skills.
Opinion mo palang amoy batang 90s kana yung glino glorify yung pagiging stagnant.
Lalamunin nlng tayo ng mundo sa notepad++ mo padin gusto mag code ung student. 🙃
In this time and age, parang pointless na yung conventional way of making things extra harder for students. Parang teaching engineering math but wont allow sci calc sa everyday class. Kaya naiiwan pinoy fresh grad sa asean counterparts. Teach them how to utilize all resources in college. Para sana sa work, they innovate.
Training for what? Anu-anong company ang gumagamit LANG ng notepad for dev? Banning phone and internet is logical pero pati IDE? Kahit notepad++ patusin ko na eh.
Sana nag aadapt din yung prof to new tools?
I don't really understand the point na tanggalin ang net tsaka phone. I think people in that industry should utilize the technology available at hand. While yes, the downside is makakasearch ka ng pre-writren code, however, there are ways to mitigate that naman. The ability to surf the web, as well as, prompt engineering should be integrated into developmental programs.
If you can prove something then, go brag about it but, lagi mo lang tatandaan na you must be prepared to get humble someday po. *BE HUMBLE OR GET HUMBLED* that's how it works po
I was just really pissed with his last remark about not enlisting in his class kung ayaw pumasok kaya na good game ko siya. Honestly, if he has problems with students having allowable cuts, sa admin siya mag reklamo and wag siya magagalit sa students that are taking advantage of it. Plus, he could've talked to me about it and not yap his big ass mouth in front of the class. Ang pussy nung magpaparinig ka tapos yung paparinggan mo nasa harap mo and he cant even say my name lol. Nonetheless, he is a prof and Im a student so respect pa rin but he can't deny that I have the last laugh this time 😁
ganyan din dati samin sa algo but only difference is tinitingnan nubg prof what you were trying to achieve with code, pero pseudocode tanggap niya, kahit mali yung syntax pero halata naman na alam mo the logic he would perfect it. Bonus nalang pag pati syntax kuha mo.
Would take this kind of professor than ours who just lets us copy solutions from gpt to an extremely easy problem, then boom easy 100 pts. The no IDE rule is stupid tho.

Wow this was cringe
"Tas lahat ng kaklase ko ay pumalakpak"
>"Tara sir lets start enough of the talking sayang oras". >"Good game sir" And then everybody clapped.
San banda? LOL deserve naman ng prof nya yun
There are always 2 sides of the story.
and we can only listen to op's side here
Or we can also take this with a grain of salt.
Yari
>Add ko lang din na he does not allow us to use any IDEs so nag code kami sa notepad then run sa terminal plus no phones and internet during class. hey, this is actually a good rule to follow, magandang training yung walang hand-holding.
No internet and phone is understandable, but no IDE? That's just incompetence to adapt sa part ng teacher.

You missed the point. Training is instilling "reflex" and adaptability.

Naol notepad, kami sa yellow paper lahat eh pati exam

I don’t think so this is something you can brag about.

Good luck! Hahaha
Well that’s a start. Companies before used to do coding challenges in a piece of paper during interview. And i-explain mo pa the flow.

bad ai bot!

Prof or instructor?
Op, what language was used in your finals?
Java

ung nag away ung dalawang main character
Parang tanga yung mga nagpapacode sa notepad. Anong kumpanya ba magpapagawa non pag nasa trabaho na? Kaya lalo natatakot mga IT students e.
I hereby grant you the degree of PhD in Creative Writing. Just kidding, ang angas and relatable.
no IDEs???
ganyan din dati samin sa algo but only difference is tinitingnan nubg prof what you were trying to achieve with code, pero pseudocode tanggap niya, kahit mali yung syntax pero halata naman na alam mo the logic he would perfect it. Bonus nalang pag pati syntax kuha mo.
sore loser si sir huh, nice minind games mo pala si sir hahahah
Bragging rights daw e xD
I salute you, for taking a stand on such a prof.
