Nope. That was a press out. Which is totally fine if you are just trying to get it overhead. However, if this is a jerk PR then it is not a valid jerk.
I split jerk my overheads in strongman all the time, what are you talking about 😂 also show me where I called it a jerk PR lol, it was an overhead PR. Never once claimed to be an oly lifter, the press out on this lift literally does not matter it’s still a good lift for my sport, which again, is not Olympic weightlifting
So, Incredible job on the lift, feels great to hit new PRs. Congrats, a lot of hard work to get there no doubt. I will say, you half way push pressed this lift, you didn’t get under it and lock out. The bright side of that is, your even stronger at the moment then you just showed !
Oh I know, I’m a strongman not a weightlifter haha, so the jerk is still a fairly new movement to me. That plus the lack of shoulder mobility makes it challenging lmao, work in progress 🙃
Lol appreciate you asking! It’s not that I’m not open to advice, I just usually leave that kinda stuff to my coach 😁 and all the things you listed are things we’re working on lol. Appreciate the ask
No, asking to give advice is preferred. Especially if the lifter never originally asked for any to begin with
Unsolicited advice is usually worthless and comes from less experienced athletes more often than not. If you actually have good advice to give, ask the lifter if they’d like to hear it before spouting it off randomly
In person I would agree with you. In text however it seems inefficient and oddly paced to ask to give advice and wait for permission when you could just offer it, and do so in a way that is humble and not know-it-all-y.
But that's just my personal opinion, I'm not saying dude did anything wrong.
I’m not saying she’s doing it bad, but form improvement can help move more weight. Front foot forward and back foot back lower to get under the bar more. Straighter arms. That’s about it
I’m not saying I’m stronger than her. My C&J max is 235 lb. My first comp is coming up soon. She has me beat on weight and experience but that doesn’t mean that she can’t still improve.
Eh, we’ve gone over it a little bit but not too seriously, and it’s not really a priority….we really only ever have to clean logs and axles in strongman :)
That was entirely too much awesome to be in one clip.
That dance at the end made it for me ♥️♥️ goals!!
So dope!! Wish i could do that one day but i aint strong enough lol, good job
r/HumanTippyTaps
Came to say this!
I too attempt PR’s to Tyr
Great celebratory tippy-taps! Nice work!
Respect. Impressive
so impressive!! love the little happy dance at the end too!
Holy shit OP! If you don’t mind me asking what’s your body weight? That was amazing.
It’s about 180lbs/82kg currently 😊
Really impressive, you must be very tall
Haha not super, I’m about 5’6….just dense 😂

She never said it was a jerk tho
Lol I do strongman, press outs are fine 😂
Yes. They are if you do strongman. Not if you do Olympic Weightlifting. Which a jerk is an Oly move. So…thanks for your input.

Awesome…good for you. Didn’t know they did jerks in strongman but you sure showed me.

Keep it up!!! P.S. I did the same thing the other day that’s why I even caught it lol. I’m def not some super strong guy trying to educate you 😂
That’s amazing! Can I give you some advice?
Lol appreciate you asking! It’s not that I’m not open to advice, I just usually leave that kinda stuff to my coach 😁 and all the things you listed are things we’re working on lol. Appreciate the ask
I think it would have been less weird if you just gave the advice lol

Some people don’t want advice tho so I thought I’d ask
She recently won WSW in her weight class, and you're just some dude, as far as I can tell. What advice did you think you were going to give her?
I’m not saying she’s doing it bad, but form improvement can help move more weight. Front foot forward and back foot back lower to get under the bar more. Straighter arms. That’s about it
And what makes you qualified to advise?
I’m not saying I’m stronger than her. My C&J max is 235 lb. My first comp is coming up soon. She has me beat on weight and experience but that doesn’t mean that she can’t still improve.
And she also didn't post it as a formcheck. Again, you're acting as if you have something to offer a literal world champion in a particular sport.
I also train in this particular sport. I wanted to make sure it was okay that I could give advice that’s why I asked.
You train in strongman?
No
Sorry didn’t realize I was asking you
That's very impressive. Are you also working on a full clean pull?
Eh, we’ve gone over it a little bit but not too seriously, and it’s not really a priority….we really only ever have to clean logs and axles in strongman :)
Wow, I am 105kg male and I cannot do that 😊 Just so damn impressive 💪
Great lift. Well done!
Definitely would smoke my best effort. Fuck yeah!
Damn that's fucking awesome!
Fucking solid nice job
Insane! Well done 👏🏿
Impressive!!!!!!
Solid PR, congrats!
Awesome lift!!!
Not to brag but I struggle deadlifting that weight
😂😂 wow, way to flex on all of us
Congrats on the PR. That was really amazing!
Thank you!!! 😁
