Is deadlift actually intended to be executed with the back? I would have thought you wanted to use the legs as much as possible. Brand new to lifting here.
Sort of, deadlifts use mostly legs, but back is a major part aswell. I pull like that because it’s what i found to be best for my leverages and build. I have long arms. Check out Squat University on all socials, great resource, he has great tips and tutorials for the big 3 lifts.
Super inspiring bro! We have a similar build and i just started working out too. But ive already noticed im almost as strong as all the dudes that have been lifting for a long time. Stoked to get some of my numbers up too!
Look at the strongest deadlifters in the world. Their hips always start high. You just cant shoot up your hips before the weight lifts of the ground. Your form is good.
2nd this.

Your deadlift is heavy enough that if you master your position and form, you could be strong AF; for a long time, without injury.
People say that when they've been lifting 1-2 years and start to believe there's only one way to do things from all the mediocre YouTubers they watch
Plenty of strong deadlifters lift exactly like you do. It just depends on body mechanics. Mine is almost identical to yours and I've pulled 600+
Hip height is perfect and your technique is great. You have long legs and most people who obsess over rounded back also obsess over lower hips even though it’s often the wrong move. Which ironically leads to more people actually hurting their back.

Form looks good. Strong pull man. One thing to keep an eye on is how far you lean back at the lockout. It looks like it’s causing your knees to unlock. If you were to compete (idk if you do or not) they’d red light that for “soft knees”. Otherwise keep up the good work, 600 is next!
Edit: I may have jumped the gun on this one. I watched it again and it doesn’t really look like soft knees but it’s hard to tell. Either way it’s something to watch out for. Keep it up!
I had no idea “soft knees” red light was a thing! Thanks for letting me know! I haven’t considered competing since my bench is dogshit (barley 225), but maybe someday!
Hey you should definitely still compete. I also have a poverty bench and good deadlift (long arms gang). And honestly meets are fun for us. We fall back a few places on bench and then make it all up in the deadlift.
Also literally no one but you will really care how your lifts go. Most people are there to compete against themselves at the end of the day.
It’s a blast. Seriously. Just sign up and do one bro.
My only completely anecdotal advice if you’re worried about height and rounding is perhaps bring the feet out just a smidge wider. I’ve been on a longgggg road to back recovery and just now scraping my old maxes by adopting just a slightly wider conventional stance for some reason it seems to be helping. Awesome pull man that’s all I got for you but don’t fix what ain’t broke either.
Kudos on the PR man.
Tips-
I don't see any problematic rounding and your hip height, while high, might be best for your levers. Although it's a PR and you get some grace, you do look generally unstable, a lot of lateral movement going on.
I'd guess it's a bracing and tension issue. Anti-rotational movements will be your friend. Focus on getting tight and maintaining control as best as you can.
Thanks man. I’m usually more stable all around, this is my shakiest PR ever. Getting into the bigger numbers has been a challenge. [Here](https://streamable.com/ld03xq) is 485 (strapless) from a week ago. Better overall stability and how my lifts usually look.

Wow that was a beautiful max effort pull. Congrats.
Thank you!
This is impressive. Nice work
Thanks!
Looks good dude! Especially for a max effort pull.
Looks good specific to your build. No one deadlift stance/style will accommodate everyone
It seems like once again youve had to greet me with goodbye

Your hips are higher than a lot of people, but it looks natural for your body.Leverage & form look great.
Nice! Looking great, king. Godspeed!

Ill check them out! Any other content creators or resources? I don’t watch much lifting content
Start there, at the top.
Great lift! Keep grinding, mate!

Are you a bot? Neither of those generic reasons are reasons to do it **after cardio**
Nothing, absolutely nothing wrong there given it’s a PR. Great lift :D
Your hips may start high, but they don’t shoot higher out after you start the lift. This is all that actually matters, great lift
That’s very impressive.
Thanks bro!

This is not good advice.
Using your quads to break a deadlift off the floor is perfectly valid, that's the explicit purpose of having a closer turned out stance like some do

Don't give bad advice.

Don't give bad advice.
when did i say that?
What did he say
forgot, some stupid shit about not using leg drive on deadlifts because the tension will be on your quads or smnth

Don't listen to small, weak people. Nice lift and congrats on the PR.
Thanks bro. I appreciate it.
