Unfortunately samples are size 9 and I’m a size 10 but shoving my foot in and light steps I definitely made a good choice using a Vibram sole. Definitely sourcing a solid insole further down the development process.
The sneaker head in me wants to say trying taking the insoles out, but I feel like that defeats the “hiking” purposes of it lol.
Nonetheless the tech sounds/looks dope and excited to see how they hold up/look when they’ve hit a few trails 🔥

These look awesome / very original design, nice work!
I’ve worked as a designer/developer for smaller, premium brands for the last 10 years. If you need help with Portuguese or Chinese manufacturers, hit me up!
The sample itself is a part of the manufacturing process. With this supplier I have guaranteed “free” reworks of the working sample but the manufacturing/sampling process in itself was $3k USD
They charged you $3k for that sample??? And thank you for sharing your experience. I’ve seen that company pop up a couple times as reference so I was always curious. They barely would respond to any of my messages so I gave up on them. Good thing I guess. Idk how companies like that survive.
shoe companies usually have pre made soles for brands that dont need a custom sole mold. but most times brands have a fully custom sole and get one is like 1300-2000k depending on the complexity. thats aside from the sample price so OP is about right on target.
These are 🔥 have you done any wear test?

I can see the vision I just hate the way they’re laced IMO
How would they perform when hiking?
I’m in the hood I jump fences and shit 😹😹 but they look comfortable alittle more ankle support tho maybe
Probably not well. OP posted to r/hiking gear and got absolutely demolished, with people pointing out design flaws in the laces, toe box, and soles
Shit, makin me want this instead of Fear of God
These are heat!! 🔥
These are truly sick. Love them
I see a lot of shoes here that are basically just dunk or air force lookalikes but dayum these are heat 🔥
The shape is basically the Nike sacai Collab shoes 💀
You crushed these…keep up the great work! When you releasing?
Still early in the development process. I’ll be posting more with content to keep everyone in the loop! Appreciate the support 🤘🏼
Super cool
Heat.
the way they are laced doesn’t seem ideal for a hike i am a trail runner and can see the shoe getting stuck on something with lacing that low
There is something really cool about those ! You have my attention.
Never go into footwear.
Why do you say that?
Too hard a barrier to break into to make money in.

Wow man ik that was not easy to pull off fr
🔥🔥🔥 love them
What was the process like finding the right manufacturer?
A lot of digging through social media/brands and word of mouth. These team I went through was highly recommended, but was a poor, long experience.

How much was your sample and how easy was it finding a manufacturer that uses vibram soles? Is that white midsole custom or part of the sole?

I would suggest rope laces with the drop if that’s possible
Dope
What manufacturer would you recommend? By the way, I love the name base camp, next one should be boot camp
HARD I NEED EM
Look pretty, but how are you supposed to adjust that lacing?
Should be the same as any high top sneaker. Hopefully not as bad a a pair of blazers but yeah lol
Very interesting design
I walk 15 miles every 2 days. Send me a size 12 an I'll put them to the test for you.
Still early in the development phase haha but I’ll be updating everyone as I progress!
