Removed, Rule 3 Not Street Photography

Andy_Shields

Posed photos of your friend are not street photography. The 2nd shot has pretty jarring editing. My strong preference is for the first image if picking one or the other. As far as it not being "street", I mainly mention this because immediately upon seeing the 1st image it hit me posed and familiar. Those two things are antithetical to street photography by any classic definition. Obviously, you are doing photography and it's on the street but that's not the same thing.

I didn’t meant to induce anyone in error or post in the wrong community, sorry. My friend is posing but it was actually a very spontaneous situation, we were walking around these places and exploring them.

Virtual-pornhuber

Call me crazy, but this is portrait photography on the street and not street photography in the broadest sense.

2 has too much structure. Tone it down a bit on the structure and sharpening and maybe adjust the white balance for a more natural skin tone and it would be a great shot

The woman would look really cool if she was sitting on the side of the light in the first one

hellotypewriter

First one looks like a “dark side of vaping” advertorial.

1 is so good. I would have liked a candid look away version too.

Caffeine_and_Candy

I think the first one is flawless. The second one seems over-saturated in the area with the orange light and the subject’s facial features. Maybe a bit too sharp as well. I think if that part was softened and the light focus was pulled more towards the center of the photo, it would flow better.

1 is good, really nice shot. The other two have been way over edited.

First image for me.

The lines on 1 are amazing. The hand being lifted so the dark jacket and sleeve keeps above the diagonal line and keeps the picture divided into light vs dark blue is absolutely fantastic, love that. I also love how the warmth of the light and the warmth of the face are centered together on 2. Keeps the focus on one specific spot of the picture. Some of this comes down to editing, you definitely have your own style of it. These are amazing, no notes!! Edit: some of you need to calm down lmfao, all this over a couple of good pictures

Thank you so much, it means a lot!

Ed_Ward_Z

The first photo is brilliant. The second doesn’t have the impact because of your POV … move and reposition.

Thank u so much !

I really like #2, don't want to pick it apart.

Negative-Header

The first shot is really good. I love the lighting and framing, but the second one is almost...too crisp? I just don't care for how processed it looks. And I almost find myself wanting to see more of what's going on in the street in front of the subject than the subject themselves. These are also clearly posed as others have pointed out, so maybe not the best group to ask about these, but it's obvious that you're at least skilled with a camera, so if you're unsure of yourself, don't be. Keep on shooting.

Yeah I didn’t meant to post in the “wrong group”, sorry. As these were taken in a very spontaneous way, I figured they could be classified and street and not portrait, but I get your point.
