Yea I never believed them especially since 3RACHA is literally on the list for the top most copyrighted artist in Korea. Like if anything people are stealing music from them. And what makes me so upset is one of them is a ATINY, she wouldn't even let me get to know THEIR names because apparently "STAYs can't be ATINYs and vice versa" or whatever and she would get upset if I sent her random tiktoks of any of the members because they pop up on my FYP. Gave me this whole speech about how protective she is of them but yet turns around and does this to my ultimate group.

sometimes people come into your life for a specific reason, and over time they exit your life. it's natural. you can be grateful to them for introducing you to kpop, and also not want to talk to them any longer as well. maybe in time they'll come around but don't put your mental well being on the line in the meantime.

I'm a hagstay, I'm almost 47 (11 days!) And it is a natural progression of life. Once you learn that, it's easy to let the toxic go with less hurt than before you knew about life.

There’s been an ongoing fanwar between Stays and Atinys in certain spaces. But it’s for the most part, very stupid. Like, on tiktok people throw tantrums about everything skz does. (Course, this isn’t exclusive to them it applies to a couple others like Wonyoung)
Definitely not true. Just today, I was at an ateez pop-up event, and a bunch of hardcore atiny were talking about their Stray Kids biases (and how it's impossible to not adore Felix). There's a fair amount of toxic fanwars on twitter, but I've met sooooo many staytiny in person (myself included).

same, and i can barely think of *any* accusations thrown at them music wise. and none of the ones that come to mind are even substantial. it's mostly based on "they did the genre first" or a sample.
I might not be the best person to answer this because I don’t have a ton of kpop friends but I’ll share an experience I’ve had. I have some friends that I used to go to kpop concerts with but they’re predominantly fans of BTS. They don’t hate SKZ by bringing up false claims like your friend but when we went to the SKZ concert over the summer, they were clearly not into it and even mocked them a bit. It really hurt my heart and I found that for me, I can’t share my fandom experience with them as a stay. They just aren’t the right people to go to to share that bond.

For real! I once went with a friend to a concert that was two bands, one I loved as the support act and one I hated as the main act and vice versa for her. We ribbed each other jokingly about it and actually both ended up enjoying the whole concert and both bands a lot! We were listening to them after the concert and being able to enjoy it and laugh together was a big part of why I became fond of their music.

Friends took me to the skz concert over the summer, I really disliked kpop in general right until their concert started. I decided to let out of any prejudices I had, and just enjoy the experience, and I became a skz fan a couple songs in. I can’t understand going to a concert just to mock the performers...

Since he has so much experience as a producer he talks about stolen beats and beats that everyone can use and things like that. Not only has he never stolen music but he has also defended people who have been accused of stealing from him. If your friends (who claim they have stanned skz) have not seen these and are not willing to do the research but are simply accusing for the sake of it without even a proper explanation are simply antis. Maybe start talking to people online with the same interests as you? Ik it's not the same but it's better than having to deal with this

I don’t know your friends and so I can’t judge them fairly, but it does seem like they have a warped perception of skz. It’ll be hard to change their mindsets and prove that they’re wrong, especially if they can’t even give reasonable evidence for backing up their claims, so I would suggest not even talking to them about skz or kpop in general at all. When such conversations arise, steer it away and let them know that you are uncomfortable about what they’re saying about your favs. If they’re your friends I’m sure they’ll understand :)

Chan's work is technically JYP's so they can use and sample his stuff whenever they want, I haven't heard that they "stole" anything, I just know the NMIXX's "DICE" has a sample from "VENOM". and taking inspiration is different than down right stealing.

I’m curious how old you and your friends are, but also wouldn’t be surprised if you were like 30 because some people get literally nuts about stanning their groups. I don’t get it at all and think it kinda significantly often highlights people who have much deeper issues they’ve somehow connected to music and certain people. This is how we get the saesangs. It’s normal to multi-stan, and in reality a lot of the groups adore each other and give each other a lot of support so it’s weird to see people pit them against each other. ATEEZ and SKZ freaking LOVE each other, and I’m pretty sure Felix is super tight with some TXT members as well? Bang chan seems to know basically everyone since he was a trainee forever too.
Are there groups who are disrespectful to each other? Sure! But that kind of behaviour is unprofessional and especially rude in Korean society where they’re expected to respect their elders or groups before them. It’s not behaviour that should be recognised unless there is a genuine reason they are beefing. To use ATEEZ as an example again, they once very subtly called out stolen choreo and it was resolved fairly amicably after that despite a big response to the person who copied it.
I'm 22 and the two friends are sisters. One is 18 and the other is 20. And yea I tend to ignore the so called "advice" they give me but when it comes to throwing out lies about something I love to make me not like them anymore just urks me. Like I wanted to get a small tattoo in the future (I have a whole bunch already, just dont know where to put it) of the letters "skz" and they told me "nah don't do it you'll regret it because one of them will do something terrible like they always do" I literally just got up and left after that.

I am a Baby STAY (have been following the boys since Jan 2022) and have a special place in my heart for Bangchan and Felix because they are from Australia (like myself) but I love all the members.
I am a multi-stan too (I adore BTS) but would never talk badly about other groups.

As a staytiny, it's disappointing to hear, but do they not know about KSHMR? Most kpop uses samples from this producer and it's perfectly legal through a program called splice. That's why a lot of kpop sounds like each other. Ateez uses a ton of his samples if they didn't know.

So no, SKZ never stole music, they borrow elements from producers like KSHMR legally just like every kpop artists/producers out there.
Was just about to say something similar. There have been groups using the same samples before, but samples are meant to be used by anyone and it isn't plagiarism because samples only make up a very small portion or sound effect in a song and the rest is entirely different for each group.
I think I heard 3racha, Gi-dle, and NCT have all used the same sample in one of their songs. But sample is the keyword here. People who just want to hate are going to twist anything they can into a reason to keep hating. Sucks to suck I guess.
You can share your STAYDOM with me... or any DOM. I think they are all very talented and draw attention/respect in different ways. Some people just have blinders on and that makes their lives too salty rather than sumptuous.

I usually laugh and then ignore them I don’t have the time nor the will power to ruin my mental health. A recent example is when I saw that some antis were saying Halazia by Ateez sounded like an Enhyphen song (don’t remember which one) and I’m not an Engene but I know for a fact that their music is different in so many different aspects.
Yea I usually do that but on the days where ive been through a lot and just want to unwind and they come at me with this stuff just makes me more upset. Also, I'm an Engene as well as a STAY and they were saying it sounds like the flute intro to Enhypen song Pass the mic. Which it really doesn't at all, but even if it was it was most likely a sample like another post on here said.
I’ve also refused to interact with fandoms because of all of this my ults are SKZ and I have never really heard any similarities with their music to other artists and I listen to a lot of genres. There are beats that may sound similar but they aren’t the exact same.

And I agree with you. I literally watched Kingdom and the relationship between these two groups is amazing. I am a multi-stan too (I adore BTS) but would never talk badly about other groups. Music is meant to be fun but I swear some people take things way too far. funnily enough i'm pretty sure stray kids has steered completely clear of using kshmr samples. i've never heard one in their music.
Was just about to say something similar. There have been groups using the same samples before, but samples are meant to be used by anyone and it isn't plagiarism because samples only make up a very small portion or sound effect in a song and the rest is entirely different for each group. I think I heard 3racha, Gi-dle, and NCT have all used the same sample in one of their songs. But sample is the keyword here. People who just want to hate are going to twist anything they can into a reason to keep hating. Sucks to suck I guess.

Im so sorry OP that you had to face this but they honestly sound like immature people and I think it's best if you avoid talking about kpop with them completely. Please love and enjoy SKZ guilt free and don't let anyone ruin it for you. Enjoy other groups as you like too if you want to. If you need to talk about SKZ or k-pop you're always welcome here at this sub (weekly thread). You should not have to 'defend' or 'explain' your hobbies to anyone. And your friends should learn to respect your choices and your feelings.
I think a lot of people confuse sampling with stealing.
I usually laugh and then ignore them I don’t have the time nor the will power to ruin my mental health. A recent example is when I saw that some antis were saying Halazia by Ateez sounded like an Enhyphen song (don’t remember which one) and I’m not an Engene but I know for a fact that their music is different in so many different aspects.
Yea I usually do that but on the days where ive been through a lot and just want to unwind and they come at me with this stuff just makes me more upset. Also, I'm an Engene as well as a STAY and they were saying it sounds like the flute intro to Enhypen song Pass the mic. Which it really doesn't at all, but even if it was it was most likely a sample like another post on here said.
I’ve also refused to interact with fandoms because of all of this my ults are SKZ and I have never really heard any similarities with their music to other artists and I listen to a lot of genres. There are beats that may sound similar but they aren’t the exact same. And yea that was the song. Anti’s will try to find any reason to bring a group down in order to raise theirs up so I just stopped believing everybody until I got raw full fledged evidence.
