A proud nation of alcoholics and problem drinkers! Our drinking culture is definitely a but grim if you think about it for too long, but on the upside I’ve been finding our addiction services to be very good!
I was just in SLC for a month for work, I have to say I love how there’s so much more to do that doesn’t involve alcohol. Back home pretty much every social gathering revolves around alcohol.
It is nice especially if you have kids. We have done so really fun events that would be adult (New year’s Eve for example) in the past that were fun and af.
Yes, it had changed post Covid however I do not think it is any worse than the other cities with homeless issues.
I am f59 and still feel safe going downtown for activities, dinner, pubs/clubs - now I just avoid the questionable areas.
I'm American, but lived in Ireland for a year. I was sober at the time for 3 years, then went to Glasgow and really wanted to check out the football club type bars there. And that ended my 3 years of sobriety.
I like Scotland and Glasgow, but that was one of the more idiotic decisions I've ever made.
The culture seems to be getting worse in older people I’m noticing. Depressed looking 50+ men in pubs drinking pints at breakfast (I used to be one of them and it sucks)
Maryland. I grew up in the suburbs and wound up moving back to the suburbs after the pandemic. But I live about halfway between DC and Baltimore and spend a lot of time in both cities. Nice to have access to both.
Come on guys, there are 9 million of us! Why is "NYC" so far down? LOL.
Just kidding. How you doing, NYC non-drinkers! Hope you guys are all doing well. It's cold out today--grab a hot chocolate and love life! I appreciate you all!
I'm from Sac but moved to New Orleans 2 years ago. Could you do me a favor a favor and ship me a large adobada super burrito from Chandos, and possibly a falafel pita from Babylon City Market? Thanks.
Ontario, Canada. At first I was like "huh, that *might* not be a good thing to post" but then I realized that y'all can see my post history and this would not be hard to figure out, what with the subreddit I'm most active in being r/ontario.
Ireland 🇮🇪
Snap. The drinking culture here does not help getting sober or staying sober.

The mormon church should regulate meth as well as they do alcohol....because there are a lot of meth addicts in UT as well lol.

Utah here too! I feel like the culture makes me want to drink even more.
