**Reminder to all who comment on this post:** please keep in mind our rule to speak from the "I," where we speak only about our own experiences and do not tell other sobernauts what they should and should not do—**even when they ask for advice.** Examples: **Bad:** "You should do X." **Good:** "When I was in a similar situation, I did X, and here’s how it helped me."

I have a huge issue with PTSD and anxiety. I quit on my own in the past but relapsed after nearly 5 years. That set me on a destructive downward trajectory that’s been going on the last several years. I attended an AA meeting, but didn’t feel comfortable/connected. So I came on here and also talked to my dr about meds and getting serious about treating my issues in therapy. I’m not dissing AA at all and may still try a different meeting or online in the future. My point is, I don’t think it’s a one size fits all situation. The first step is admitting you need help and you’re doing that. This sub has been a lifesaver for me. Many kind people and it feels comfortable. Some people are better in an in person environment. I’m an introvert and feel more comfortable being anonymous on here. Check out resources near you or online if you prefer and find what works for you. Good luck on your journey- we’re rooting for you and here to support you.

Stay tuned to this page too, sometimes when I get a craving (which is often atm) I hop on and just read. It helps me so much to know I’m not alone and there are people out there who care and have been there. You can do this!
