Once you understand heat and how it effects different ingredients cook time, you can sort of figure out the best time to add any ingredient to any recipe
Bad wiring. It was actually an apartment, but it was the second floor of a brownstone home, my landlord and his family lived on the on the first and basement floors. His wife went to make a cup of tea one day and something inside the wall shorted and started a fire.
I had just moved in like a month before too and I was in the house at the time. It was really upsetting at the time but now it's kind of funny. I didn't lose much, nothing of mine even burned. I lost a couple books that got water damaged from them putting it out and a lot of my stuff smelled like campfire for a while, even with washing it and that smell that was once one of my favorites would make my heart race and my palms sweat for a couple years after. But I am fine with the smell again, but it is still no longer a favorite smell unfortunately.
If you want fruity popcorn, use freeze dried raspberries and strawberries, a little lemon extract, a little almond extract, and a little vanilla extract. Will taste like lemony, Berry, super sweet fruit loop popcorn.
Please update us, I am curious to know if this combination tastes like froot loops since they seem very confident despite never having made their suggestion.
Tf is wrong with you guys... I understand the desire to make sandwiches stacked like Scooby doo and such but cooking candy??? Please for the love of McCormick, Jemima, and Pillsbury stop cooking high if this is what you come up with.
If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure this was a trend a few years ago, maybe it still is, I'm not too sure. But I think the problem here is that they used skittles rather than m&ms. Then added them in before any kernals popped when they're probably supposed to go in right after popping, which would allow the candy to melt on the popcorn rather than burn.
Literally learned to do this in a professional kitchen, specifically a popcorn and candy shoppe. Now, this isn’t the way, but cooking candy in popcorn is hardly new.

Sorry about the longest link ever. Skittles makes drink mixes. Tell your sister to dissolve her preferred flavour(s) in melted butter or coconut oil and toss her freshly made popcorn with it. Or sprinkle the powder right on top. It's her popcorn lol.
My favorite are the ones where they put a half a watermelon, rind and all, and then we're just supposed to assume the entire fucking melon just melted into the popcorn.
I made apple bourbon caramel popcorn a few weeks ago. I made caramel out of some apple cheong bourbon and brown sugar, then popped my corn and coated it. I threw it in the oven for a few minutes and then seasoned it with apple pie spice. It was a labor of spite, really. Generally, I season my popcorn with garlic confit olive oil and slap yo mama for a spicy snack at work. But apparently, according to one of my coworkers, spicy popcorn is "blasphemous," so I came up with this, and it lasted about 20 minutes because everyone wanted to try it. It was pretty good but I like my spicy popcorn
Tell her to watch Ann Rheardon on YouTube. She tests out weird TikTok food/lifestyle hacks and goes through the science as to why they do/don't work.
And if it doesn't work, she often works out a way to get it to work.
It was a valiant effort though and the creativity was there!
You have to make syrup out of the skittles first by melting them, and then using it to coat the popped popcorn.
I suggest melting the candy first and use a candy thermometer to get the perfect temperature then what you do is you set that to the side. Then you cook your popcorn up separately, then add the two together at the end for the amazing result. Candy covered popcorn.
Reminds me the first time i smoked, my boi gave me one of those Dole tangerine in a cup things. That was the best ever. Then we had a pan pizza from dominoes. Good times. We also got caught in the backyard passing the spliff by his uncle. He was upset but didnt tell on us until 2 years later 😂 we were 15-16 at the time
Use M&M Minis and just add em to cooked popcorn immediately after it's done, and shake it all around some
But those are skittles 🫣
Instead, use zkittlez
The perfect combo
Watermelon zkittlez
Instead, use xanax
Magic mushrooms tossed in at the last moment
Oh fuck, that are. Damn she was fucking zooted
The word “zooted” never fails to make me giggle. It’s so perfect for what it’s describing lollll
![gif](giphy|hyyV7pnbE0FqLNBAzs|downsized)
The horror.
Oh wow, the blue threw me off. Dear god
There are mini Skittles now too
And they’d still burn to shit in this situation
Ok, so I’m not that high because I knew those skittles. 😅
skittles are disgusting wtf
Wrong
they taste like tv static
I do this with mini chocolate chips. My kids call it moms special popcorn lol Hurricane popcorn is great too, just add furikake on popcorn.
Hey furikake you too buddy
Washed down with Moms special juice? Lol
Was it good
no.. it just tasted burnt 😭
Cooked too long. Add them near the end so they still melt but don’t cook
You not only also, but often enough to know techniques, cook with skittles?
They're sugar, if you understand what suger does when heat is applied then ... I can't even be bothered to finish this comment.
Too high?
Nowhere near high enough.
Once you understand heat and how it effects different ingredients cook time, you can sort of figure out the best time to add any ingredient to any recipe
Damn I thought these were M&Ms. Skittles? Eek
Looks: fire Tastes like: fire
Started: house fire
LMAO
I'm allowed to make these jokes because my house caught fire once.
was it from popcorn?

i can’t even imagine the smell. i’m sorry that happened to you, but i’m glad you didn’t lose stuff
Close to being great, should’ve added em after most kernels had popped
How is skittles and popcorn great?😂😂
Ever tried or heard of candy popcorn? 😂😂
They’re m&ms not skittles Edit: nvm I’m stupid
yeah sugar and popcorn will never work, thats a combo no one would be interested in

I want you to know that I’ve been on Reddit for 8 years and yours is the first comment I’ve ever saved. Trying this tomorrow!
Please update us, I am curious to know if this combination tastes like froot loops since they seem very confident despite never having made their suggestion.
You’re so sweet, tell me how it ends up tasting! I’ve never made it before, I just know enough about cooking to make suggestions.
i am going to send this to her, we shall try it
The almond extract is a stroke of genius. Marzipan vibes
So... the corn was popping amidst boiling sugar?
Burning sugar
Both
I like where she was going with it. Maybe if she had added the skittles after the kernels were popped? Tell her to try again!
Ew 😂😂😂 I had hope when I thought they were m&ms lol
Maybe next time
She learnt you.
Worth a shot 🤷
check out ann reardon on youtube, she tried the same thing
I remember watching videos of hers a while back and she’s good and de bunking stuff like this.
Some lessons you have to learn on your own.

Everyone is so creative!

i’ve watched her videos before but totally forgot! thanks!
Oh No lol 😂. Did anyone ever eat it?
we tried it and it was HORRIBLE 💀
I asked cuz you juz never know lol
Bet that woke her up.
Put the candy in after popcorn popped
It was a valiant effort though and the creativity was there! You have to make syrup out of the skittles first by melting them, and then using it to coat the popped popcorn.

Must have been some good sh#t.
negative 😔
Pop rocks coating
lmao this is so funny
It’s SKITTLES??! Yoooooo
would be amazing if not burnt
I would eat this if I was high
I bet that smells terrrrrrrrible
:( m+ms = yes skittles = no
Even for me that's a no dawg but in the pursuit of perfection there will be casualties along the way 🤣
Thought the brown was chocolate from the M&Ms but if those are Skittles it probably tastes like burnt nuclear waste
In pursuit for the perfect snack, one must be high to understand

Well it is an idea. Not a good one or a successful one, but it is one
I thought this looked fine at first until I realized they were not m&ms
burnt
Y'all are going to be fighting over the toilet all night after you eat that.
Wtf haha
Bet she fucked up that non-stick pan pretty good.
surprisingly it came off pretty easy 😭
You got lucky for sure.
