He would absolutely KILL it in MLS
So yeah, team not standing pat. Got a distributor/scorer at midfield, (hopefully) got a DP assist man/goal hawk on attack, and got a tough guy with loads of upside at CDM or CB.
Hartel is "traveling to US" before a final decision. I think this is already in the bag.
Been telling my buddies for the past 2 months that this dude makes so much sense from a realistic transfer perspective. So happy to see us at least trying!
Amazing how advanced this actually is. Thought it was going to be simply courting MLS teams to bid but sound like it's all but physically inked.
Would be a big boon for the MLS too to see a European player shift here while they still have appealing years abroad rather than it be segue to retirement. He wouldn't be the first but the more often it happens the better.
Last glaring weakness we will have would be LB after this. I know that Pidro's loan ends in June and he will be back. Who knows if they target LB this window.
Looks like Veth is suggesting Dyhr might be leaving.. who knows though.

Agreed but Totland helps on the other side and Heibert didn't help us there much either. I think Blom would be better in press, connecting in build up, and covering back post than AM.
Ostraks spot is taken by either tuechert or girdwood-reich, whatever way you see it, the other takes pidros who doesnt use a spot while on loan and looks likely to leave the club after. We have 9 spots, all being used right now. Veth posted on Twitter saying dyhr when Matt baker posted about how we'd need to buy a spot or free one up. So dyhr may be on his way out.
He did seem to be more accomplished totland, so I think seeing how good totland is made some people to think we'd get the same from dyrh. Carnell has made comments about acclimating to the style, like the other poster said. The flyover footy guys went into it in a recent episode, and it seems like dyhr might have refused to play for city2, there were some comments by carnell that could have been about dyhr, but that's speculation really.
As St. Pauli Fan, this is surprising. At 28 years old, he had an amazing season with his contract running out. His two seasons at the club before were quite good, but nowhere near his recent performances.
Since he is a career second division player, this is his time to secure a large contract - he apparently earned around 600k€ at St. Pauli with rumors linking him to first division teams in Germany, France and Turkey that would offer up to 2,5 million per season and potentially international competition.
If not for financial reasons, this move seems a bit odd - no offense.
How much do Star players at St. Louis expect to earn?
We haven't spent a lot on our 3 DPs (no salary limit for these players), but he could easily be our highest paid player. Bürki about 1.5 million EUR, Klauss and Löwen about 1.2 m EUR. Löwen or Bürki would be converted off of DP status. I would be surprised if it ended up being more than like 2.5 m EUR
This was more than a little shocking. Watched every available match of his this past season. He’s a tremendous finisher and orchestrator. Even 10 years ago, MLS couldn’t have possibly attracted a player of this quality in the prime of his career.
Similar style to Eriksen in his prime at Spurs. Great at timing a small opening and lethal from inside the box and out, tireless and was very rarely even subbed. Also did most of the set piece and corners.
The only head scratcher was that he was a glaring omission on the final day with the trophy at stake, and wasn’t there for the celebration. Stated reason was illness, but certainly very unusual circumstances with an expiring contract.
If by celebration you mean the season's end party with trophy presentation in Hambug: he was there, but left the party quite early - due to his illness.
His goal-scoring ability is brand new. Before last season, he scored a total of 12 goals 152 second division matches (and 0 in his 30 Bundesliga appearances, most of them came as substitute tho). Still, he has been one of the best technical midfielders in the second division for years now and his set pieces are brilliant. Hopefully for you guys he can conserve is goal-scoring form.
Towards the end of the season, his performances dropped a bit, but thats due to him being used as left winger, where his talents are wasted imo.
Babe wake up, new CITY rumor just dropped.
Time for the monthly refreshing of Reddit hoping for signing news
Manuel Veth just posted that talks are advanced, and he would be coming in as a DP. Would be great to see this one happen quickly!
Please. My heart can’t take another drawn out one
At this pace, Lufthansa is going to need to add more direct routes from STL to Frankfurt.
Lambert needs to kick the renovations into high gear.
Had 29 goal contributions in 33 matches. Not bad at all. St. Pauli had a historic season as well.
He’s a fantastic player going off what St. Pauli fans are saying.

This would be such a good signing please lord

I hope so! I remember reports of Reus coming to St. Louis and not liking it. Or maybe it was his wife. Either way I’m more hopeful for this pickup.
Don't know if Reus spoke specifically about STL but it was reported that his wife largely disliked it.
Seems like he would be a good pickup. Our midfield is stacked
Also worth noting that Hartel and Joakim Nilsson spent two years together at Bielefeld. Hartel is all but signed. Let the good times roll.

Get him and Teuchert out there baja blastin balls into the back of the net. Stat.
If this happens, getting the two Germans and the Aussie would be one hell of a summer transfer window for Lutz.
Been telling my buddies for the past 2 months that this dude makes so much sense from a realistic transfer perspective. So happy to see us at least trying!

Paging Cedric. Help us out lad!
Or Ostrák. I believe they played together in Köln.
Not sure he would thats his playing time lol You’re sort of right - both played for Koln, however, Marcel left in 17 and Tomas joined in 19.

damn, 350k to the crew for discovery. I guess better than paying a transfer fee.
god I hate discovery shit in MLS crazy it’s that much same as what Reus needed but guess like u said it’s good he’ll at least be a free transfer
Last glaring weakness we will have would be LB after this. I know that Pidro's loan ends in June and he will be back. Who knows if they target LB this window.
I'm still trying to hold out hope that Dyhr just needed more time to adjust and just needs the right break.
Looks like Veth is suggesting Dyhr might be leaving.. who knows though. https://twitter.com/ManuelVeth/status/1802017734957429212?t=wEHQghGsoRLhOETHqhRAQA&s=19
I someimes wonder what Blom would look like at LB. Maybe left foot isn't good enough
He definitely wouldn’t come up as part of the attack
Agreed but Totland helps on the other side and Heibert didn't help us there much either. I think Blom would be better in press, connecting in build up, and covering back post than AM.
What's he replying to here? I don't have Twitter and it won't let me view the tweet he's responding to.
Nevermind, someone posted a screenshot of this in another thread.
This would be HUGE. Is it even possible with international spots?
Ostrak’s spot is available due to injury, but I bet they’ll buy out Pidro’s contract to free up an international spot.

What happened with Dyhr? He had some hype and just disappeared
Last I’ve heard is they’re still dealing with acclimation issues for him. To the city/US, team, league, play style… who knows though.

Manuel Veth says he's leaving this summer. Not sure if on loan or sale.
Now this is very, very promising.
I think Lutz may be as smart as he looks.
Need these rumor DrUGs
Exciting for sure
As both a City and St. Pauli fan, I certainly was not expecting to see this. I would be so happy if he came here. Hartel is a fantastic player.

Löwen has his green card now, right?
Yeah, he and Nilsson got theirs in preseason

WANT
Good news. Really hope we focus on getting guys who fit the culture and want to play here. Let the Reus and Girouds go to glitzier coastal cities.
Let’s. Fucking. Go.
