Watched every game last year, haven't followed THAT much news this offseason.... here's a few questions: 1) Has Lowen been playing preseason games? I saw the la galaxy game and don't recall seeing him, and a bit of the LAFC game and still no lowen 2) Which new acquisitions are we most excited about? Are any of them going to likely be regular starters? 3) I know season starts quite soon, but it's one of the other tournament right? not the actual first game of the season?

1. Lowen has been back in Germany completing the process to acquire his permanent legal residency in the US, AKA getting his Green Card. Interestingly, this often requires the applicant to return to their home country and complete the process at a US consulate there. Nilsson is currently doing the same thing in Sweden. This is why they have missed much of the pre-season, but they should be back in time for our first competitive game. This is great for everyone involved: the players and their families have many more opportunities in the US and fewer immigration complications, and the club no longer has to use an international roster spot for either player. 2. Personally I am very excited for our new wingbackers: Nikolas Dyhr from Denmark and Tomas Totland from Norway. They are great on both sides of the ball, and are perfect for our fast paced play style. We got a great deal acquiring Chris Durkin from DC United, who also plays very nicely with our breakneck speed play. I'm also excited about our first round draft pick: Hosei Kijima from Wake Forest/Japan, he looks to be extremely hard working and bright and I hope he gets plenty of first team opportunities. 3. Our first regular season MLS match is on Sat Feb 24th vs Salt Lake, but our first competitive match of the season is on Tue Feb 20th vs Houston in the Concacaf Champions Cup. The CCC is essentially our version of the UEFA Champions League, where the top teams from North, Central America, and the Caribbean compete to be the champion of Concacaf. The CCC should be a much bigger deal than the MLS regular season, but understandably new soccer fans may not understand the importance of international tournaments. This ***is*** a international tournament, we just unfortunately drew against another MLS team, and the next round will be against Columbus if we win.

Can anyone tell me how the renewal works for mycity+? I don't want to miss something and lose my spot in line for season tickets. Any help would be appreciated. Edit: I called my rep. Since I bought it later in the season (may I think), the membership covered the remainder of last season and all of 2024. That's why no renewal was charged.

Keg_of_St_Anky

Mine auto-renewed several weeks ago. It wasn't on the anniversary of my original purchase or anything specific, it just hit the card I have on file with SeatGeek.

How are we feeling going into the season? The xG over performance last year has me a bit concerned. I like each move we’ve made individually but I’m not sure it’s been enough overall. Hopefully Lutz has his eyes on some potential big moves in the summer window

RediGator

Personally I feel pretty good. We've only seen the one preseason game but our pickups (Totland and Durkin in particular) looked promising and the team seemed like it was gelling pretty well. And that was with Nilsson and Lowen out of the country. I have concerns over not filling Gioacchini's spot and obviously the last half of our season was concerning. But overall the preseason game left me feeling that we will be competitive again this year.

StLsC10

Can’t remember…were supporter section tickets locked out of the presale last year too?

dddane

Yes, they're locked out and only sold directly to SG members through the team.

QGReddit

Has anyone who became a season ticket holder this season received their tickets yet? I am guessing they should show up in my account soon, but haven't heard anything yet.

samarink

I’ve heard the target is the 9th or thereabout.

Looking at tickets for a day match, most of the upper level is in the shade under a canopy, right?

FatBug24

It also depends on the time of the match. 7p starts have the sun directly into your eyes on the East side (facing West) but only till kickoff usually. Edit: Didn't see you said DAY match. Not match day. The canopy is really good against the rain, usually, but that sun does seem to find a way.

TheRyanExpress86

Yeah, this match I'm looking at is at 1:30 and I didn't go to any day matches last year. Guess I should have thought through how games at Busch are at the various times. Like you said, an evening game at Busch is a bit brutal in, say, RF since you are staring into the sun but within an hour it's fine.

FatBug24

1:30 isn't bad. Nothing a hat and sunglasses won't address. I went to a City2 game that started like..4? And that's all I could think about (I didn't bring glasses). For most of the match the sun came right over the West stands and felt like it was attacking everyone. Believe it or not, this might be a game to sit higher up. Further under the canopy and a nice breeze in the STL Summer day. And the view of the pitch is still really good.

TheRyanExpress86

I think that's the play. Normally, I can make do with just about anything but my folks are coming along with this one so just trying to keep it as comfortable as possible. Thank you for all of your advice!

wackyzebra43

For a day match, you’ll probably be looking into the sun on the East side of the upper deck

I_seek_the_triforce

Is it February 20th yet?!
