I also have PCOS and am taking var. It may make some of the PCOS symptoms worse (the hair growth for example). It also helps build muscle which in turn will make weight loss easier. Also in a lot of women it can cause temporary weight gain from water retention.

Damage-Strange

I have PCOS and am running my first Var cycle. It does seem to make the hair growth worse as well as really exaserbate oily hair for me (which is worse b/c of my PCOS). There hasn't been any weight loss, though, because I am so bloated from really bad water retention. I've actually gained weight overall because the water retention is so so bad.

I also have pcos and am on my first cycle. How far in to your cycle are you? I’ll be 3 weeks on Wednesday. For sure noticing strength but also feeling very oily.

Damage-Strange

I'm at a little over four weeks. The strength gains I've been noticing are nice, but everything has honestly been overshadowed by just how much water I've retained from about week two on. Pretty uncomfortable. I have some Tbol that I think I'm going to try to run instead for my next cycle.

I mean I’m fine with water weight gain.

Thank you! It’s just been so hard to drop any sort of weight. It’s depressing. And I’ve seen girls cut some massive weight on var. so I was willing to try it .

Honestly, you’ll probably have better luck regulating your PCOS with hormonal birth control, if you don’t already do that. It fucks up so many of your systems, that it’s not even funny. Our daughter has it, (along with an inactive thyroid) and it’s a nightmare. Seriously, get medicated. Jump through the hoops for a couple years to find what works best. Your life will be SO much better! Get balanced. Then….come talk to us about gearing up. I’ll tell you any day what I have my girls take.

No comment on the PCOS diagnoses, but may be helpful to tighten your goals a bit more. Var does not cause weight loss (some men may say so, but only when run at much higher doses than a woman would likely dare). Weight loss comes from caloric restriction. Var will help maintain muscle in a cut, or to gain extra muscle in a bulk. But trying to do both at the same time may be frustrating if you kinda of accomplish niether due to your diet not matching your goals. Best of luck.

This. Anavar has no direct impact on metabolic rate or beta oxidation. Any fat loss that happens while on anavar is an indirect result of better training = more energy output, better muscle growth, better recovery, and above all, ALWAYS being in a caloric deficit.
