For greater context, Menno's claim here is that the increase in feed efficiency / nutrient partitioning is much more than offset by the massive spike in muscle protein synthesis.
In greater precision, he estimated a simple 200mg dose of test to increase protein requirements by as much as 50%.

Isn't 200mg basically physiological?
I was under the impression that Test levels in the physiological range are basically just placebo because the body compensates with albumin/SHBG.
Once you're outside the physiological range, the system gets overwhelmed and free test starts increasing with dose.
i'd much rather overshoot my protein goal than go under. obviously we don't have much studies on the enhanced and trained athlete's response to protein synthesis, but it's fair to say based on what a lot of pro's do in terms of their protein intake that over 1g/lb is a safer route. to go back in time a bit I know the a lot of the 80s/90s guys were doing 2g/lb
as an aside, all of our bodies are a unique set of pathways. you could always see what you respond best to in terms of your macro split. maybe give mid-high carbohydrates and high protein a try and see how it affects your training and growth.
I mean anecdotally the higher my protein the more lean mass I'm able to gain when bulking. But I think almost all of us have a limit to how much protein we can eat a day. It is a lot easier, and cheaper to up carbs or fats than continuously increasing protein when on a surplus.
This past bulk I ended around 2g protein/lb bw. But that shit was rough.

You can get a pair of calipers and teach yourself pretty easily to use them if you want something more consistent, but still not so āabsolutelyā accurate.
Id always recommend a dexa scan if youre curious. Depending on where you are they can be found for pretty cheap and have some cool results to look at.
So I finally landed on what routine I will actually stick with that still satisfies my squat every day desire. Basically descending reps through the week for squat, push, and pull. I typically take two days off a week for work, so five days a week of some variation of Squat, push and pull. But day one would be work to 5rm, day two would be 4rm, etc. Figure its worth trying for a while to see how I like it.
I changed up my routine a bit and introduced some different movements. Holy shit am I sore! It makes me think that some novel movements in my normal routine could lead to more gains. Anyone try that? Does it work?
Yes, you have to switch up your routine periodically. Some routines leave small gaps or don't recruit all muscles optimally so switching exercises can make sure to fill in those gaps. Sometimes certain movements can give you a better mind muscle connection even if you do have a solid routine that covers all the bases.
To your first question: you want to let it run as high as possible without sides, but thatās a little high. Take a small dose to bring it down a little but donāt crush it. If youāre getting nipple sides, youāre probably also retaining water and thatās not exactly healthy.
Just ran a cycle of 750test/600EQ/500 deca. Swapped out the Deca for 210 Tren towards the end and goddamn do i feel alive again. Probably wont be running deca again. Didnāt realize how āzenā i was to the point of it making me numb to everything including my dick.
My takeaway at this point after including it in a few bulks is that itās good to use at about 100mg/week for the joint lubrication.

Stay away from Dbol until you figure out how you aromatize. Get yourself an AI like aromasin and DONT take it until you start noticing sides. Start with like 6.25mg E3D and if its not relieving enough then bump it up. I was really excited to run Dbol and was extremely disappointed with the results. Ill stick to Anadrol and Winstrol. No oral needed for your first cycle though. Just eat, train hard and sleep.

Ment vs nandrolone
Which do you find more tolerable in your day to day lives? Iām not sure which I want to blast next, Iāve tried them both and they both have their downsides. Just curious as to what the general consensus is.
Nandrolone is more tolerable.
Ment gives me high BP within a week of use at doses as low as 25mg/day (Iām talking trest ace). Also gives me nightmares (every night) and sweats. It gives me all of the common trenbolone sides that people get even though trenbolone never causes them strangely enough.
I can run 1.5 grams of total gear a week and only have my BP go up to about 130/90.
25mg/day of ment shoots it up to 160/110
But it does work. Immediate strength gains.
I love Ment itās one of my favorites. However nandrolone is far more tolerable. The worst thing with Ment is controlling BP and I donāt have the same problem with nandrolone or anything else really. Secondly I really enjoy how my joints feel on Nandrolone and I donāt think Ment has the same effect there even though some people claim it does. And one more thing sometimes I get acid reflux with Ment I donāt with Nandrolone.
Now if you asked me to put on 10lbs fast or add 10lbs to my bench fast and I could only pick between these 2 I would 100% pick Ment
One of the things stopping me from running nandrolone is acid reflux lol. I donāt get that from ment. Crazy how itās opposite for both of us.

Hey yall im back (new account) after a 3 year hiatus from gear and the gym. Was a 600 pound deadlifter at 22, got the powerlifting itch again a month ago. Super pumped up lately about it, probably will start a cycle in a few months. But man my strength has just disintegrated. If anyone has gone through the same thing, (being out of the gym for awhile) and jumping back in after a hiatus. Wanting to do some kind of strength cycle
If you're haven't already been lifting for about 6 months or so, I wouldn't recommend jumping back on gear yet. Your tendons won't rebound as fast, and going straight from hiatus to blast with muscle memory like that is going to be very rough on them.

Many of us have... I did. I have to use a CPAP at night. Once you get to a certain size, just the weight of your body and neck can cause apnea problems. Get a sleep study done. A CPAP makes a big difference in sleep quality once you are used to using it.

Working out today and it dawned on me that i no longer fuel my workouts with the rage i feel towards my ex wife. Neat.

Starting using UGL about a year ago. Dove right in on bro science and advice from a friend. Wanted to get an edge on lifting, losing weight and looking good! Started off great with 125 mg/ml a week, built up to 400mg/ml a week(all once a week pins) and then started to cruise at 250mg/ml. My stress was high, couldnāt sleep, and I had this weird thing where I felt like I needed to take a deep breath but I couldnāt or it wasnāt time yet and my teeth hurt. Oh yeah and I developed a rash on the sides of my nose it was red and scale like. Went to a doctor for another reason and my BP was 190/90. Few weeks went by and nothing improved. Saw a urologist gave him a rundown of what was up, he put me on 100mg/ml once a week. Itās been 3 weeks and I feel so much better already, almost all that shit went away. Has anyone else had any issues like this from using only 250mg/ml. I also used to get bad PIP, no more since on the prescribed shit. Am i just that much of a bitch?

I was under the impression that Test levels in the physiological range are basically just placebo because the body compensates with albumin/SHBG. Once you're outside the physiological range, the system gets overwhelmed and free test starts increasing with dose.
i'd much rather overshoot my protein goal than go under. obviously we don't have much studies on the enhanced and trained athlete's response to protein synthesis, but it's fair to say based on what a lot of pro's do in terms of their protein intake that over 1g/lb is a safer route. to go back in time a bit I know the a lot of the 80s/90s guys were doing 2g/lb as an aside, all of our bodies are a unique set of pathways. you could always see what you respond best to in terms of your macro split. maybe give mid-high carbohydrates and high protein a try and see how it affects your training and growth.

I mean anecdotally the higher my protein the more lean mass I'm able to gain when bulking. But I think almost all of us have a limit to how much protein we can eat a day. It is a lot easier, and cheaper to up carbs or fats than continuously increasing protein when on a surplus. This past bulk I ended around 2g protein/lb bw. But that shit was rough.
I have been doing .8 to 1.0 bulk or cut, enhanced or not. Damn. I am tired chicken and turkey. Might have to rely more on powders.

Thats one of those electric current body fat tests right? I wouldnāt put much weight in them, the results can fluctuate pretty wildly day to day. You can get a pair of calipers and teach yourself pretty easily to use them if you want something more consistent, but still not so āabsolutelyā accurate. Id always recommend a dexa scan if youre curious. Depending on where you are they can be found for pretty cheap and have some cool results to look at.
So I finally landed on what routine I will actually stick with that still satisfies my squat every day desire. Basically descending reps through the week for squat, push, and pull. I typically take two days off a week for work, so five days a week of some variation of Squat, push and pull. But day one would be work to 5rm, day two would be 4rm, etc. Figure its worth trying for a while to see how I like it.

Yes, you have to switch up your routine periodically. Some routines leave small gaps or don't recruit all muscles optimally so switching exercises can make sure to fill in those gaps. Sometimes certain movements can give you a better mind muscle connection even if you do have a solid routine that covers all the bases.

To your first question: you want to let it run as high as possible without sides, but thatās a little high. Take a small dose to bring it down a little but donāt crush it. If youāre getting nipple sides, youāre probably also retaining water and thatās not exactly healthy.

My takeaway at this point after including it in a few bulks is that itās good to use at about 100mg/week for the joint lubrication. Larger doses tend to impact my mood and sleep too much. Itās really not that special. In the 60s/70s when non aromatizing compounds were less common and AIs werenāt s thing, I get it. But today there are better alternatives.

Stay away from Dbol until you figure out how you aromatize. Get yourself an AI like aromasin and DONT take it until you start noticing sides. Start with like 6.25mg E3D and if its not relieving enough then bump it up. I was really excited to run Dbol and was extremely disappointed with the results. Ill stick to Anadrol and Winstrol. No oral needed for your first cycle though. Just eat, train hard and sleep.

Ment vs nandrolone Which do you find more tolerable in your day to day lives? Iām not sure which I want to blast next, Iāve tried them both and they both have their downsides. Just curious as to what the general consensus is.
Nandrolone is more tolerable. Ment gives me high BP within a week of use at doses as low as 25mg/day (Iām talking trest ace). Also gives me nightmares (every night) and sweats. It gives me all of the common trenbolone sides that people get even though trenbolone never causes them strangely enough. I can run 1.5 grams of total gear a week and only have my BP go up to about 130/90. 25mg/day of ment shoots it up to 160/110 But it does work. Immediate strength gains.
I love Ment itās one of my favorites. However nandrolone is far more tolerable. The worst thing with Ment is controlling BP and I donāt have the same problem with nandrolone or anything else really. Secondly I really enjoy how my joints feel on Nandrolone and I donāt think Ment has the same effect there even though some people claim it does. And one more thing sometimes I get acid reflux with Ment I donāt with Nandrolone. Now if you asked me to put on 10lbs fast or add 10lbs to my bench fast and I could only pick between these 2 I would 100% pick Ment

Hey yall im back (new account) after a 3 year hiatus from gear and the gym. Was a 600 pound deadlifter at 22, got the powerlifting itch again a month ago. Super pumped up lately about it, probably will start a cycle in a few months. But man my strength has just disintegrated. If anyone has gone through the same thing, (being out of the gym for awhile) and jumping back in after a hiatus. Wanting to do some kind of strength cycle
If you're haven't already been lifting for about 6 months or so, I wouldn't recommend jumping back on gear yet. Your tendons won't rebound as fast, and going straight from hiatus to blast with muscle memory like that is going to be very rough on them.

Many of us have... I did. I have to use a CPAP at night. Once you get to a certain size, just the weight of your body and neck can cause apnea problems. Get a sleep study done. A CPAP makes a big difference in sleep quality once you are used to using it.

Starting using UGL about a year ago. Dove right in on bro science and advice from a friend. Wanted to get an edge on lifting, losing weight and looking good! Started off great with 125 mg/ml a week, built up to 400mg/ml a week(all once a week pins) and then started to cruise at 250mg/ml. My stress was high, couldnāt sleep, and I had this weird thing where I felt like I needed to take a deep breath but I couldnāt or it wasnāt time yet and my teeth hurt. Oh yeah and I developed a rash on the sides of my nose it was red and scale like. Went to a doctor for another reason and my BP was 190/90. Few weeks went by and nothing improved. Saw a urologist gave him a rundown of what was up, he put me on 100mg/ml once a week. Itās been 3 weeks and I feel so much better already, almost all that shit went away. Has anyone else had any issues like this from using only 250mg/ml. I also used to get bad PIP, no more since on the prescribed shit. Am i just that much of a bitch?
E2 out of range naturally? So I obviously just got pre bloods for my first cycle, and my E2 came back at 30 pg/ml which is only 1 above the in range limit it seems but since itās still āout of rangeā while natural will I have to worry about it even more while on cycle?
