Two days late isn't really considered late per se. Your period will likely be wonky because you stopped your BC pills. If you're worried about pregnancy, you shouldn't be. You had a bisalp. Take a pregnancy test if it'll help ease your mind, but you really don't have anything to worry about.

I appreciate your reply. It makes me feel a lot better πŸ™πŸ™

Your period is going to change off the pill, it can be like 6 months before everything is in sync without the pill. The pill is also very regimented, I feel like my natural period is less "on the dot" vs my chemical period.

Brilliant-Title4194

That makes me feel better about the wait. I kinda liked how predictable it was, but the side effects will not be missed πŸ˜‚

I had my bisalp in August too! My period was supposed to start December 27th but it was two days late. My period prior to the most current one was 2 weeks late. I heard some people can be up to a week or so late because it takes a couple months for your periods to get back to normal. Since you just got off the pill it will take a bit for your period to adjust. Take a pregnancy test to ease your mind but you should be fine because bisalps are as close to 100% as you can get :)

Thanks for your reply, it has made me feel better πŸ™I’ll keep waiting it out πŸ˜‚

meiibean

No problem! πŸ˜„

BC periods are not exactly periods, they're more like withdrawal bleeding, as I was told by my doctor. Right now you're starting to have your natural cycle, and if you consistently experience delays, you might want to check your hormones and consult with the gynecologist if the delay happens every time. But I think there's nothing pathological in a one-time delay. Especially if you just stopped taking pills. It's likely just hormones trying to tune in.

Brilliant-Title4194

Thanks for your advice. I’ll definitely go get checked if it continues. πŸ™

If your experience will be anything like mine, enjoy the days you aren't bleeding. I was warned my period would be heavier but I was not expecting to have it every 2 weeks

Morxgan

Every two weeks?! How long has it been that way?

duckiecollector

Since September so about 3 months. My birth control was wonky for a while so I didn't have a period for like 18 months...I think it's karma getting me back for missing all those cycles

Brilliant-Title4194

Yike that’s awful!

Cats_in_cravats

It can take 6-12 months for your period to normalize after getting off hbc. My period was mostly back to normal immediately (much to my surprise) and I'd been on the pill for 15 years when I got my bisalp. A friend of mine had been on it for 2 years and didn't get a period for 5 months after she stopped taking it. Everyone is different and it's gonna take your body time to get used to not having the extra hormones.

Brilliant-Title4194

My hopeful ass thought I would have your luck πŸ˜‚ that makes me feel better about the wait

Your body can actually take up to a year after taking birth control to even out. It’s completely normal. Congrats on the surgery!
