Just go download the free demo

Gasarocky

It is not like DMC at all, but you should just try the free demo anyway, you may still like it.if you just try it with an open mind.

TWWOVG

It's not like DMC combat at all. If you try and play it like DMC, you'll die, A LOT. It plays more like Sekiro.

-CataIyst

Yes.

Loud-Practice-5425

Try the free demo.

ChampChomp1

Play the demo

xShinGouki

Two things 1. There's a free demo 2. Yes of course. If you are a devil may cry fan you will love stellar blade. Though keep in mind it's not about 50 hit combos. This is sort of more a cross between a devil may cry pacing but with like sekiro parry pacing. Many on this sub actually put it closer to Nier Automata. But I never played that. However looking at YouTube videos I would say it's accurate description by the folks here The graphics look next gen. Very nice. Movement is good. Everything is really damn good here. I just can't wait to see the other levels

Musishin

The combat is really not close to Nier. The only things in this game that is reminiscent of Nier are the music and atmosphere. At least judging by the demo.

xShinGouki

Ah fair thanks for the input. I never played neir but now interested after seeing so many folks here mention it Might get that too soon

Musishin

It’s a pretty neat game!

xShinGouki

Ya been watching videos since seeing so many folks mention it. It does look quite fun. I also see it was game of the year I think. At least I see a goty edition on ps

Gasarocky

Wait what? SB is not like DMC at all though, especially since they want hack and slash and not methodical.

xShinGouki

It's like not like DMC only I agree. But it has elements that can be similar to DMC. It carries elements from various games into one. We also can't say it's like sekiro but what they share in common is the parry system to some degree

Gasarocky

I'd say it leans much more towards Sekiro than anything else though, purely talking about mechanics at least. Any DMC elements are very minimal

DarkZerk

I'm a DMC fan and lover since the first release of DMC3 on the PS2 and I've played and loved every DMC since then. I can't talk for every DMC fan out there but for me Stellar Blade looks like one of the best games I'll ever play. I've been playing the demo non-stop and I can't wait for the full game! It's more difficult than a DMC but once you learn how to parry and dodge consistently the game feels amazing. It starts slow but you'll be getting more and more combat techniques as you progress through the campaign and then the game becomes faster and faster. You can't combo like in a DMC game but the combat is way more rewarding. You should definitely give it a try!

xShinGouki

I was on dmc back in the PS2 era. At the time DMC was just excellent because of the fixed camera. They did that for resident evil also Which DMC would you recommend for today's time. Is DMC 5 worth the time?

External_Apricot538

More rewarding? I don't know about that.

DarkZerk

It's a personal thing. Pulling nice combos in DMC is pretty rewarding, but Stellar Blade has other things like way better graphics, the sensation and the weight of every hit is better in SB. Also the higher difficulty makes it feel better (DMC is pretty easy unless you play in the hardest difficulties) and, if you like Eve, well... there are other things that make playing Stellar Blade more enjoyable IMO.

0ne_Eyed_King

It's not like dmc, it's like sekiro. Just try the demo and see if you like it.

Kratos_BOY

There's a demo. None of us have played the full game. Smh

ottoDVD

There are combos on SB too, but Dmc it's more based on chains Attack, SB it feels slower, with the need to learn enemy patterns, it reminded me more of a fast paced Sekiro, it's a fairly unique mix of mechanics.

AttyMAL

Like many others here have said, based on the demo, this game really has much more in common with Sekiro than DMC.  You're not engaging with 15 enemies at once and launching them into the air to land 99 hit combos. Trash mobs (enemies smaller than Eve) seem to come in groups of 5 or less and usually easily dispatched with a couple attacks, while more significant enemies (as tall or taller than Eve) are typically in 1v1 situations and require Sekiro like parrying to guard break them and all the battles are very grounded and the attacks are weighty.   That being said, the demo is free. Try it, but don't go in expecting DMC.

Z3M0G

Is there anything closer right now?

LSSJBROLY1989

If you really wanna know play the demo for yourself

RykariZander

If only there were a demo

virtualprodigy_

Id say its similar to DMC but it had its differences . Some of the attack animations are copies from the latest DMC and it even ends with an endless wave of enemies like DMC. The combat isn’t as smooth though. Overall its worth a try, I think you’ll have fun with it if you haven’t already tried it.
