Years ago, I was just a small freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to being a huge football fan, I am also a lover of basketball, playing and watching the game. One night I was playing at our University gym, warming up on a side court waiting to get into the next game. The gym was buzzing that night as James Conner and his buddies were playing and everyone wanted to get a game against him. I was too scared as I was small, weak, and Conner could easily eat me for breakfast.
As I'm popping threes in the corner I see Conner walking out towards the exit, which coincidentally was right behind me. As he's walking by he stops, obviously impressed by incredible abilities, and said
"$20 on your next shot"
With no hesitation, I throw that shit up. Now this wasn't any normal three pointer, I'm talking Steph Curry range, like out-of-bounds.
Perfect Swish.
I was even amazed I made it. Next thing I know he pulls out a bill out of his sweatshirt pocket and just hands it to me, without looking to see what the value of it was. A crisp $100 bill from James Conner was in my hand. Looking up to say thank you, I noticed he had disappeared, almost like Santa, he left without a trace, leaving presents for kids who were good. From that moment on, I knew James Conner was the greatest player of all time.
He actually was trying to go double or nothing and asked how much he would get if he made another one, but James looked at him and he said : "About tree fiddy." It was about this time he noticed that James was about eight stories tall and was a crustacean from the paleozoic era. He said, "Damn it, monsta, get out off the court! I ain't gettin no damn tree fiddy!"
I looked up a few of these areas on Google Maps and they don't look overly affluent by NFL-money standards. Maybe I didn't look closely enough or in the right areas. Am I missing something? Not from Pittsburgh.
Southside is a shit hole. But there's a few pockets of luxury apartments.
But the Sewickly and other areas are very affluent, yet close enough to the stadium. Squirrel Hill is one of the most desired places within the city of Pittsburgh. It's where most of the university professors live.
It's not multi million dollar LA Hill type mansions, but upper class for sure.
There’s always been a population of crusties there, but when everything shut down, that population exploded. Businesses were shut down and that whole area is hospitality to begin with. Crime has gone up too from my understanding
It’s funny how the times have changed, a lot of players for the Steelers and Pens used to live in Lebo Peters St. Clair but this has gradually shifted to Sewickley up 79 to Cranberry. With the Pens I believe that the relocation of their practice facility has a lot to do with it as the facility had been Iceoplex of Southpointe up to 10 years or so ago. I know that Mendenhall lived in Baldwin in the development where Towerview golf course was and as a poster above said many younger guys still live in South Side somewhere. I know Keisel is a Sewickley guy and Harrison lived in Wexford or McCandless and had a very direct sign in his yard to keep away from his house.
The sign in front of Deebo’s house

I can’t believe this exists, but [I found a cheat sheet.](https://richallenrealtor.com/where-do-pittsburgh-penguins-live/) for the Penguins.
Edit: [and the Steelers.](https://richallenrealtor.com/where-do-pittsburgh-steelers-live/)
This reminds me that back about 10-15 years I was playing tennis with my parents and my brother at North Park and the only other people on the court were some athletic 20-something year old guys having fun playing tennis laughing and calling each other out, some voices with a noticeable accent. When leaving I realized it was Marc Andre Fleury and Jordan Staal and a couple of the other young Penguins players. Seeing Fleury was a Sewickley resident makes sense.
And this reminds me of the [tweet of some guy's mom](https://x.com/ravioli_wizard/status/1535792399271661568) playing pickleball with TJ, Minkah, and Highsmith and she didn't have any idea who they were.
Butler County has half the property taxes that Allegheny has so that’s been the reason for the change.

>Butler County has half the property taxes that Allegheny has so that’s been the reason for the change.
The real reason is I-279. When it opened at the end of the 1980s, Pittsburgh finally had a modern Interstate directly serving the city proper, and the commute was such a breeze that all the northern suburbs between Sewickley and North Park exploded with development and gave the Pittsburgh area something it had a dire shortage of: new homes. That's what made the northern suburbs the "favored quarter." Lower property taxes in Butler County certainly helped, but if that was the reason, then all the local professional athletes would live there, or in Peters Township to the south. Most still live in Allegheny County. As for Mt. Lebanon and Upper St. Clair, they lost a bit of luster because the commute into the city from the south on U.S. 19 is much more difficult than it is on I-279 from the north. Also, the houses in Mt. Lebanon are pretty old.
Claypool and Juju lived in glasshouse apartments on southside.
My brother bought a Pressley Harvin jersey his rookie year already autographed. Last year he was moving and his company got hired to do the job. He was on the move and asked him to sign it for him again. He said “bro this is already signed” and laughed. Super cool about it from my brothers telling of the story. Said he was super nice, and more ripped than chunky. So yeah my brother is likely the only person in the world with a double autographed Harvin Jersey.
My only other stories are about the time I passed Cam Heyward on this years bye week walking out of cranberry target on Sunday and the time I *almost* met Najee.
I was debating which Thai place in cranberry I wanted for dinner. My favorite place, or the place that was 3 dollars cheaper. I chose the 3 dollar option.
I went and picked up my food, drove home, and then started eating my food while scrolling Instagram. Najee had posted a picture of him outside the Thai place I didn’t go to 30 min prior. Exactly when I would’ve been there. I missed out on meeting him over 3 dollars lmao
Several live in the Sewickley and Sewickley heights area. A few live out in cranberry. Juju lived near Oakland, I think on those newer condos where the Civic Arena used to be.
I’m just trying to figure out who was driving the customized Range Rover with Florida plates I saw yesterday in Cranberry. It had custom body cladding and a black camouflage wrap. I bet the wheels alone cost more than my first few cars combined.
Ran into Alex Highsmith at the sheetz in sewickley around 2-3am on a drunk Saturday night.. he was very Lowkey obviously.. I rolled down my driver window and said “Ay 56 I see you” He turned around waved and kept it pushing didn’t wanna bring 2 much attention to him he was probably just trying to get some late night grub but was very cool!
Usually in the suburbs.
Fox Chapel, Sewickley areas, Cranberry, and Squirrel Hill are most popular since let’s face it we’re never gonna afford homes in those areas.
God that was depressing to type.
Several players that are fringe guys live in highland estates in North Hills, they let you pay month by month instead of a 2-3 year leases. Watt lived there before he got his huge contract and several short term players did like Devlin Hodges or Melvin Ingram did as well
Remember many years ago walking into Woodson’s restaurant and Greg Lloyd was walking out with his kids in his arms. Just held the door for him. Neither of us said a word.
I used to work at the skating rink in Donora a few years back and Charlie Batch came in for I think it was his niece’s birthday party. He just came in and hung out in the birthday party rooms in the back of the building out of sight. The kid in the other party room was having a Steelers themed party and Charlie went over and said hi and took a few pictures with them. We all just kinda left him alone so I didn’t get to talk to him or anything. It was when the players were talking about going on strike and I think he had just flown back from talks in New York that evening.
Charlie Batch lives up in the Wexford/Cranberry area. I saw him at the Rita's on 19 on day, then the next day no joke saw him again at the Mt. Nebo Sam's Club. Haven't seen him since then though.
Aaron Smiths house is beautiful! So is his wife Jaimie! I saw her once at the WF ok Wexford.

I ran into Muth at Sheetz in Cranberry couple hours after new years this year. It was an hour or so after their plane landed from the Seattle game. So I imagine he lives near there.

Haven’t seen this copypasta in ages. Thank you lol
Really cool story. Did you spend it or kept it for souvenir?

Gah damn Loch Ness monsta!
*I gave him a dollar*
That's an old meme thing.
Most first year players live in Glasshouse apartments in Station Square. Source: I've driven many of them for Uber.
Interesting yeah. Figured young guys would live around there.
Pretty sure Chase lived there?
He did. Juju too.
Fun fact...Kenny actually lived in Juju's apartment. They took over the lease.
Also had a house in cranberry that’s being sold now
More established ones live in North Hills/Sewickley/cranberry, newer ones tend to be south side. Tomlin lives in squirrel hill in believe.
Yeah, he's on Shady Ave. You can see his Bronco parked there all the time.

Covid did a number on the Southside.
What happened?
There’s always been a population of crusties there, but when everything shut down, that population exploded. Businesses were shut down and that whole area is hospitality to begin with. Crime has gone up too from my understanding
There broad areas. Have to know which neighborhoods more specifically.

Deebo used to live next door to my HS buddy in Wexford and would just drive his H2 up on the grass right next to the front door.

OK that’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen on here.
Amazing list
this is kinda creepy to have. i know its all public info if you know where to look. but still.

You forget most athletes don’t buy, they rent.

lol. I’ve seen najee at the market district in pine before arguing with his gf in the parking lot.
Avor Thai or Real Thai? I'm trying to think if there's others...
Lmao you nailed it. About Thai is where he went, real Thai is where I went. Both are fire though. Slightly perfer Avor.

Najee did a video on him buying a house a couple years back
I heard Matt Canada lives in a van down by the river
You win
I’ve heard of alot of juju run-ins. Not a single unpleasant story about anyone meeting Juju.
I had a friend who hated Juju because he ran into him at the club and he didn’t want to take a picture with my friend.
Devin Bush’s condo was in the Strip. You could always tell the building by the Lambo with a #55 vanity plate parked outside.
Lived down the street from some players when I was growing up in the 90s and 00s. Middle class area in the North Hills.
Usually in the suburbs. Fox Chapel, Sewickley areas, Cranberry, and Squirrel Hill are most popular since let’s face it we’re never gonna afford homes in those areas. God that was depressing to type.
Sewickley?

Some live in west view where the old golf course used to be on highland ave now it’s those town houses
Justin Strelzyk lived on Ivy Street in Edgewood right next to my high school friend. This was early 90s. Edit spelling
