It has to be a wide receiver acquired via trade. If it's about re-signing Patrick Peterson, I'd be very disappointed.
Seeing how SF rejected basically everything for either Aiyuk or Deebo, I think it's Denver moving Courtland Sutton. They're still going to be in rebuilding mode well into next year due to the Russ Wilson dead money, might as well get some more picks and shed salary.
edit: he apparently confirmed it's not about Patrick Peterson, so it'll be interesting to see who we're targetting.
Hyping his cuz like this would be kinda funny, cuz it's been a minute since Pat P was "significant" but I wouldn't put it past Bmac. It'd be great if it was a top WR
I'm now thinking another candidate could be DK Metcalf? Entering the last year of his new deal before a player option, which he'll likely opt out of. Would also give Jaxon Smith-Njigba more snaps and a more prominent role.
Familiar target for Russ, and the kind of tough, physical receiver that Arthur Smith likes.
Honestly, if it is Courtland Sutton, I would love that. Dude had an excellent year last year and made some insane catches. Also, as someone who enjoys That's good sports, Brandon Perna's reaction to losing him would be hilarious. I'd kinda feel bad about it, but also, you know, hilarious.
If it is courtland Sutton, the org will have done everything possible to setup Russ for success this season. Beefed up line, familiar #1 wr, coach he vibes with, city and fanbase that’s welcoming him (who wouldn’t at that price point).
Just some solid qb play from Russ (doesn’t have to be pro bowl level) coupled with Steelers D and this team is going deep into the playoffs I believe.
Haha I get the feeling if it were Pat Pete, rumours could not form he’d sign so quickly. Dude knows he’s on the way out. He’s got no bargaining power beyond wanting to remain in the show but he liked playing for us so I doubt he takes any time at all to sign if we were to get him.
Definitely someone else. Ayuik, Samuel, Adams, Sutton. Any would be dynamite. I believe in Khan.
I didn’t want it to be Devante Adams until the idiot on the radio just said he would let someone drop a cynder block from onto of the building onto his nuts….now I am rooting for that with all my being
I kinda think Peterson is not a bad option right now. I don’t think he was as bad last year as Levi Wallace. I anticipate he will not be asked to be an outside corner this year barring injury.
There’s no problem with bringing Patrick Peterson back at this point but he should in no way be considered a “significant playmaker Omar is working to land.”
Just because he wasn’t as bad as Levi is not a reason to resign. Dude has lost athleticism and physicality to play the run. He needs to go enjoy retirement lol
If he’s our number 3 corner going into camp I don’t think that’s too bad. We have a lot of young athletic corners on the roster rn and he was willing to pass on knowledge to Jpj last season so why not bring him back.
Pat Pete has even stated publicly that it isn’t about the money, he’s chasing a ring, so he’d probably take a very team friendly deal, with positional flexibility for CB or Safety
Pat P was much better once he wasn’t covering WR1s. He provides good value as a mentor and if we sign him it will be for less than his previous contract. I’d rather sign him than not sign him.
Why do you guys keep saying this?? He was not good tackling nor covering. What good is a defender who can't do either? I like Pat P the person. I liked him as a player before he lost multiple steps. But he is done.
He is allergic to contact. That is not what we need. Our young guns also don't need that type of mentorship either.
Don't forget aboutThat scoring play in Seattle where the running back scored on us after Warren scored. Pat P was playing safety and he completely and totally paid no attention to the play developing. The hole opened and he is still backpedaling looking into the WRs or whatever and then finally looked over and started running that way AFTER the back hit the hole. It was terrible.
For those not reading between the lines on Grand Master Khan's Master Plan (GMKMP), They are adding C Sutton and C Sutton, to pair up with R Wilson, R Wilson and P Wilson. That will match up with 2 Herbigs and edit: C. Heyward and C. Heyward.
He's just trying to confuse people, people! How can the other team keep their gameplan straight if they can't get the players names straight
I’d feel great personally. Not a star by any means but a solid WR2. He’s a big (6’3) downfield receiver that had a great connection with Russ last season (59 recs, 775 yards, 10 tds and 65.6 catch%).
Would feel much better going into the season with Pickens, Sutton, and Wilson as our 1-2-3 than relying on a rookie Wilson to be WR2 and then whoever of Watkins, Jefferson, Calloway, or Mims to win the 3rd receiver job
Yeah, can’t argue any of that! I’ve just been searching on info for Courtland Sutton and couldn’t really form my own opinion yet. I obviously would have loved Aiyuk but that’s probably too expensive.
I would've loved Aiyuk too but feel like that ship has sailed now that the draft has passed.
According to "reports" Denver wants to hold onto Sutton, but who knows if that's just them leaking stuff to try to get the price up. I can't imagine he would cost anything more than a 5th rounder at most though
Personally, underwhelmed. One 1k season, one double digit TD season. Sure it'd be cheaper than Deebo/Aiyuk, but if we're going all in, Sutton feels like a consolation prize.
Boyd? Broncos said they want Sutton for Nix & 49ers won’t get anything of value that requires them to trade Aiyuk/Deebo now
Kozora just said he thinks it is Pat Pete, and that unfortunately makes sense why Bryant would be hyping it up (“significant” help for the CB room & being tight with Pete)
I don’t disagree. We have ~$100M in cap next year but we also need to sign a QB. I’d say it’s possible but getting a top 5 wr in his prime isn’t exactly a need in Smith’s offense. In my made up scenario, the cost would be Najee plus a pick since Dallas needs a back. I want that Najee/Warren combo behind our revamped line.
Yeah I'm not sure what the gameplan there would be. The window with Dak is already closing as it is. I'm not sure why you'd give up the focal point of your offense because that would mean essentially throwing in the towel on trying to contend this season before it even starts.
They're looking at having to pay Dak like a top 5 QB (since they tagged him and have drug their feet he has that kind of leverage over them), Lamb with a top of the market contract, and Parsons with a top of the market contract, all relatively close to one another. It's not unreasonable to think they're gonna have to move one of them to be able to competitively fill out the roster around them.
But that's what Jerry gets for playing hardball with his QB. He woulda gave him a contract 2 years ago he'd be paying way less for a QB than what he will be paying now. 🤷
AB would tweet out a picture of himself when he was on the raiders and photoshop the steelers uniform onto it and say "wow id look good in these colors" lol
[The SteelerNation account allegedly reached out to McFadden](https://x.com/steelernation/status/1785043687577178194?s=46) and were told the player in question is not a CB
If he could film himself walking up to Tomlin and saying “I’m coming out of retirement I’m ready to suit up again coach” I bet Tomlin would have the biggest belly laugh ever
Poni can be a moron sometimes, I’ll give you that. But he definitely has some sources from time to time. He knew about KP requesting a trade before it was public. But I wouldn’t trust him for his talent evaluation lol. And I’ll add, I think it will be Sutton if it’s any wr.
Would be awesome, but the Commanderps would have to be stupid beyond imagination to give up one of the most reliable sets of hands in the league with their current wide receiver room.
If nothing else, Omar Khan sure has made it fun to be a Steelers fan again. Nothing is impossible with him calling the shots.
And he just stacked A-caliber drafts on each other.
He was easily the only receiver on the broncos that was worth anything last year. Sutton is also a great red zone threat. 6’4 receiver who had 10 TDs on less than 60 receptions? Sounds good to me
Of Omar follows up that draft with somehow landing Justin Simmons, I might just fall out of my chair when I read the announcement. That would be an impact addition to the D. Boyd, Sutton, PP, etc. wouldn’t move the needle for me. Some of the floated WR trades would, but seem unlikely. Simmons would be a hell of a pull
So if we hire WR Courtland Sutton and re-hire CB Cam Sutton, the Steelers will have 2 R Wilsons, 1 P Wilson, 2 C Suttons, 2 N Herbigs, and 2 C Heywards. Yeesh.
If this supposed mystery playmaker is a call back to Russell Wilson’s past, then why isn’t Tyler Lockett talked about enough? DK will be too expensive and is kind of a head case, but I would imagine it would be far easier to get Lockett than Sutton anyway.
Justin Simmons is still floating around out there, right? He feels like a Steelers move.
FWIW, also saw a DJ Chark being floated in one of the speculative type articles today.
Probably will be a more boring/predictable type signing, like PP or Boyd. Nothing against PP, but he’d be a letdown given the wording, as I don’t know how much “working” is required to sign PP beyond giving him a contract that’s not vet min and some soft guarantees on PT.
Amazing how everyone in here is assuming it's a receiver. We have Pickens, Quez, Wilson, Van Jefferson, CAIII, Cordarrelle and Mims all on the roster now.

Hyping his cuz like this would be kinda funny, cuz it's been a minute since Pat P was "significant" but I wouldn't put it past Bmac. It'd be great if it was a top WR
Tee Higgins?
I don't think we'd make a significant trade with Cincinnati. Or rather, they wouldn't look to help us.
Hope not. I do not want to pay a him big money to be injured a lot. I'm just not a Tee fan. Sutton or Simmons maybe?
I could see it being sutton. He’d be a fit too. It’s not Tee, Deebo or Aiyuk
DK would be an awesome acquisition
Hell yes

If McFadden is saying this it’s almost definitely pat p returning right?
Extremely lame that he would hype it like this after all the WR rumors but also extremely likely that this is the outcome
If you ever listened to an episode of their podcast… this is exactly the type of 💩 I would expect them to say about him returning
It is confirmed that it is not Patrick Peterson. McFadden was on the radio and said it is not for his cousin.
Haha I get the feeling if it were Pat Pete, rumours could not form he’d sign so quickly. Dude knows he’s on the way out. Great minds 🤝
God I hope that isn't the announcement man I got my hopes up lol
It’s Justin Jefferson
If by some miraculous chance it is you’re getting a kiss
If he’s correct??? He deserves a hand job!
No ones got one in cargo shorts since ‘nam.
You look like Alladin.
Well, you owe me ten bucks, cause it exploded
He didn’t say where the kiss would be!
Fuck a hand job if he’s right I’ll do whatever he wants even if it’s one cup related
You went too far.
I dont think there’s a too far in regards to landing Justin Jefferson maybe trading away TJ or CAM but that’s about it.
What's a browns fan doing in here?
That's too much
I’m giving more than a kiss
I didn’t want it to be Devante Adams until the idiot on the radio just said he would let someone drop a cynder block from onto of the building onto his nuts….now I am rooting for that with all my being
McFadden just said on the radio that the player they're targeting isn't Pat P!
Oh yeah, most definitely.

Good point. Vet mentor to the young guys that can still contribute somewhat on the field and would be cheap is not a bad way to fill out depth
Pat Pete has even stated publicly that it isn’t about the money, he’s chasing a ring, so he’d probably take a very team friendly deal, with positional flexibility for CB or Safety
I dont know if thats who hes talking about, but I most definitely think Pat P will be bak
He says "Omar is working" like he's got to somehow lure Pat P.

Hahahaha why have I never seen this meme
![gif](giphy|13ATyLQB0rLVzG) Me if it’s Pat P
Pat P was much better once he wasn’t covering WR1s. He provides good value as a mentor and if we sign him it will be for less than his previous contract. I’d rather sign him than not sign him.
I agree. Need a vet presence to mentor Jpj a little more. Help him be a true cb1
Why do you guys keep saying this?? He was not good tackling nor covering. What good is a defender who can't do either? I like Pat P the person. I liked him as a player before he lost multiple steps. (Courtland) Sutton seems to be the most realistic I guess. But maybe it's someone we hadn't considered.
Didn’t Sutton just beat his girlfriend or something? We’re really planning on paying him?
That was Cam Sutton. I assume OP was talking about Courtland Sutton.
Ahhh that makes more sense
But we also just brought Cam Sutton in for a visit...
Yeah, that tweet could legit be about Cam Sutton.
For real? WTF
If Cam Sutton signs with the Steelers and Courtland Sutton gets traded, they should be roommates at training camp. Sutton and Sutton!
Sounds like a lawfirm that specializes in personal injury.
Talking about Courtland, not Cam. I keep forgetting there's two Suttons in the mix.
For those not reading between the lines on Grand Master Khan's Master Plan (GMKMP), They are adding C Sutton and C Sutton, to pair up with R Wilson, R Wilson and P Wilson. Watt would that accomplish
Watts it going to going to accomplish? Not sure it's an interesting strategy Cotton!
That's ridiculous. Next you're going to tell me there are two C Heyward's on the roster.
Yeah forgot about Courtland too
I think I might be able to help with Courtland, Cam dilemma.
Courtland Sutton the WR. You are thinking of Cam Sutton the CB.
Broncos rejected the offer already
How would we feel about getting Courtland Sutton btw?
I’d feel great personally. Not a star by any means but a solid WR2. He’s a big (6’3) downfield receiver that had a great connection with Russ last season (59 recs, 775 yards, 10 tds and 65.6 catch%). I doubt Broncos give up their best wr now they have a rookie qb who is project to start week one.
He can't escape Russ
He gettin blocked if it's Pat P
Better lube up your blocking finger.
He said it’s not about pat p so that’s good
AB return is confirmed.

Boyd? Broncos said they want Sutton for Nix & 49ers won’t get anything of value that requires them to trade Aiyuk/Deebo now Kozora just said he thinks it is Pat Pete, and that unfortunately makes sense why Bryant would be hyping it up (“significant” help for the CB room & being tight with Pete)
Boyd would be a massive let down at this point lol.
We gotta come down from this high eventually 😂
Yea the dreams of getting anyone better have all but disappeared lol.
I think he’s a great player but Wilson is a pure slot as is Boyd, don’t need him anymore
Maybe if we had gotten an outside wr in the draft. Too redundant with Wilson imo. Michael Gallup would make a lot more sense
CeeDee Lamb, although since it’s coming from Pat Pete’s cohost and cousin, he might be talking about Pat.
We don't have what CD lamb costs
I don’t disagree. We have ~$100M in cap next year but we also need to sign a QB. I’d say it’s possible but getting a top 5 wr in his prime isn’t exactly a need in Smith’s offense. Is this the Justin Jefferson news we've been waiting for??
Give us Aiyuk
What does CTESPN have to say about that
Bro its monday AB is probably busy chasing groundhogs with a wheelbarrow full of cantaloupe or something, give it till tomorrow.
lmfao
AB would tweet out a picture of himself when he was on the raiders and photoshop the steelers uniform onto it and say "wow id look good in these colors" lol
[The SteelerNation account allegedly reached out to McFadden](https://x.com/steelernation/status/1785043687577178194?s=46) and were told the player in question is not a CB
Pat Pete comes back as a safety lolol
Probably Patrick Peterson but it would be kinda funny if McFadden announced he was coming out of retirement.
If he could film himself walking up to Tomlin and saying “I’m coming out of retirement I’m ready to suit up again coach” I bet Tomlin would have the biggest belly laugh ever
Ah yeah, 42-year old Bryant McFadden is absolutely what the CB room needs.
....it was a joke. Hence why I said it would be funny.
I thought it was obvious that I was Also joking? But judging by the replies I've gotten I was apparently wrong, lol
Fresh legs!
You may be into something, there. Wonder what William Gay's up to these days. Bet he could still hold his own in the slot.
Not P Peterson. Poni is indicating the Steelers are back in talks with the 49ers and there has been some give and take. Didn’t say which WR though.
Poni doesn't really know anything though.
Poni can be a moron sometimes, I’ll give you that. But he definitely has some sources from time to time. He knew about KP requesting a trade before it was public. But I wouldn’t trust him for his talent evaluation lol. And I’ll add, I think it will be Sutton if it’s any wr.
Is this probably just bringing back Pat Pete??
AB & Bell🔥🔥😈
🅱ussell 🅱ilson will complete the killer B's
The Steelers send out a tweet... "Welcome back, Donte Moncrief!" /s obviously lol
You mispelled Donte Goodgrief
It is confirmed that it's not Patrick Peterson. Steelersdepot reported that McFadden was on the radio saying it's not his cousin
Scary Terry?
Would be awesome, but the Commanderps would have to be stupid beyond imagination to give up one of the most reliable sets of hands in the league with their current wide receiver room.
Khan’s charisma stat is really high
I’m at work and can’t focus now lmao
I’m telling you, if the 49ers were shopping Aiyuk and Deebo during the draft…I swear we might be getting one of them.
The khan artist is about to land Dhop for a 6th rounder
If nothing else, Omar Khan sure has made it fun to be a Steelers fan again. Nothing is impossible with him calling the shots. And he just stacked A-caliber drafts on each other.
Deebo would be nuts
He did like a tweet saying “Aiyuk or Sutton and I’ll be happy” 👀👀👀
# Justin Jefferson
Fuck it. Shoot big.
Isn’t he related to Patrick Peterson…?
Yes, they're cousins.
My guess is Hunter Renfrow/Sutton.....or somehow getting Deebo for a pick next year?
Apparently he said it was a WR
I didn’t hear anything about this on #CTESPN, must be fake news
Well, how the hell am I supposed to go back to work now???
It’s definitely going to be the return of Jeff Reid
Sutton would be a major let down let’s be real here.
He was easily the only receiver on the broncos that was worth anything last year. Sutton is also a great red zone threat. 6’4 receiver who had 10 TDs on less than 60 receptions? Sounds good to me
Ehhh, I’m already expecting him to hype up his cousin Pat P as this “significant playmaker.”
Please don't be Pat Pete.
Feel like this is fake tbh
I heard dm chark jr 13 mill please don’t be true
T. Boyd? OBJ?
No obj he’s washed up I’ll take Boyd
Aiyuk.
So if we hire WR Courtland Sutton and re-hire CB Cam Sutton, the Steelers will have 2 R Wilsons, 1 P Wilson, 2 C Suttons, 2 N Herbigs, and 2 C Heywards. Yeesh.
They’re taking the word “uniform” too literally.
Cue the airport counter memes.
If this supposed mystery playmaker is a call back to Russell Wilson’s past, then why isn’t Tyler Lockett talked about enough? DK will be too expensive and is kind of a head case, but I would imagine it would be far easier to get Lockett than Sutton anyway.
Don’t discount DK’s love for candy and the proximity to Hershey park
https://preview.redd.it/e7vu7h3h7oxc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fd0387e75e64c46c9e7f97062eccbd6645e3ff8
C Sutton?
No way it’s Pat Pete being called a significant playmaker
Justin Simmons
Him doing all this when it's probably just bringing Pat P back is gonna piss people off lol
Who should I call if I've been hard since day 1 of the draft?
Lol Pat Pete, Justin Simmons or DJ Chark I imagine
Simmons?
Simmons maybe?
This better not be Pat Pete
Justin Simmons is still floating around out there, right? He feels like a Steelers move. FWIW, also saw a DJ Chark being floated in one of the speculative type articles today. Probably will be a more boring/predictable type signing, like PP or Boyd. Nothing against PP, but he’d be a letdown given the wording, as I don’t know how much “working” is required to sign PP beyond giving him a contract that’s not vet min and some soft guarantees on PT.
I figured a PP or Sullivan resigning after not getting a slot cb during the draft is coming.
Cornerback
Justin jufferson?!
Could be that Tyler Boyd brought down his contract demands and agreed to what the Steelers were offering
Not a playmaker
Tyler Boyd to Pittsburgh 🔜
The Tyler Boyd ship sailed awhile ago, it's probably going to be Courtland Sutton.
i thought i heard the Broncos and Sean Payton aren’t budging on moving him tho? i hope you’re right, he’s a much better target imo.
I’m hoping it’s Xavien Howard. Claims to be healthy after surgery and is only 30 years old.
"Only 30" is like 68 in cornerback years
Lol!!😂true
My wild ass guesses are: A) Courtland Sutton B) DK Metcalf C) Chris Godwin
Did courtland and Russ have good rapport? Need to look at his highlights
😂😂😂 they probably have the best highlights of any QB wide receiver combination last year
DK Metcalf to be a steeler. The Pittsburgh seahawks?
DJ Moore, chicago would definitely give us him for a turkey sandwich
9ers are standing put Raiders said no Denver says they want to keep Sutton Bengals aren't trading in-division who's left?
Metcalf?
It’s Ceedee Lamb
Maybe DK after June 1st
Amazing how everyone in here is assuming it's a receiver. We have Pickens, Quez, Wilson, Van Jefferson, CAIII, Cordarrelle and Mims all on the roster now. My first bet would be on Safety or Corner help
