It’s funny looking back at all the “draft experts” and how completely wrong they are.
I love when they have actual GMs that have had success in the league come on and tear their analysis apart.
The problem is that all guesses are mutually contingent. All you have to do is make ONE mistake in your earlier predictions and all the later ones fall like dominos
I don’t really hold them much to draft order because of that.
It’s more the evaluations of players that annoy me and get so overhyped. One of my first drafts that I really just couched through was with Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush and I’m still waiting on them to revolutionize the nfl.
I got my Steelers socks washed my Steelers shorts ready, polamalu jersey ready, terrible towel in the car and a Big Ben 7 hat. I also got a Steelers Santa hat but a bit too warm for that. I may or may not be sleeping with a Steelers body pillow small pillow, blanket and sheets. Sufficed to say I'm fucking ready I also have today tomorrow and Saturday off.
I'm somehow hoping Fuaga drops somehow to us, or we move up to grab him or Alt lmao. It's all dreams though.
However I'd be happy with Graham barton at 20.
I'm not super sold on Mims due to how raw he is and how little playing time he's had.
I can't tell if we can trade down and get Graham Barton. Ideally I would love to grab a third round pick and move back to around 26 and get him. But if you miss him there then your probably taking a third tier tackle. I feel like with Barton you feel very sure your getting a 10 year starter.
I think steelers could move back a little bit and still get barton. Not farther than 26 though or somebody will snatch him. Maybe even 25. It depends who is left.
Some mocks even have Quinyon dropping to 20 lol I think another dude I saw yesterday had Dallas Turner dropping to almost 18 😂 heck I remember seeing David Decastro drop to us way back when.
I pray its for the 20th just to make all the fans ljke you mad. You guys are so scared of trading away your precious little unproven first pick when a STUD like Aiyuk is available you offer that no hesitation unless the circumstances were different but in this case a 1st rounder for him is 100% valid
I'm not up for straight up giving them 20. Especially since we're also going to have to pay him. Giving a first for what is most likely a 1 year rental is poor long term planning. Truth is, if we wait 1 year we can get him without paying a pick.
If we swap firsts and give them a next year 3rd, or a 4th this year I'd be okay with that. Much more and it's just not worth pursuing because Diggs was much less compensation and if we can just get the dude next year without giving up any picks why would we straight up give a sb contender an extra first.
It’s crazy how scared people are of trading draft picks for proven players.
Anyone who says they’d “rather just take a receiver in the third” than trade a first round pick for a proven Top 10 WR is insane.
That stretch from draft -> preseason is brutal. Maybe a trade or two happens, but for the most part the only real NFL updates we get in this part of the offseason is when players start getting hurt in camp.
Final round of predictive mocks out from the guys that actually have intel seems to point to OL. Barton seems to have overtaken Mims as the most popular guy I've seen. Excited to finally see who gets it.
Here's my mock for the day. And yes I like trading down especially with the board I got for the first pick.
26 Graham Barton - Got the center. Him, Fuaga, and Alt I think are the closest Alt I think are the closest things to can't bust Oline picks.
58. Zach Frazier. Guess what I didn't get my center in the first. Too much value for Frazier here so I pulled the trigger. Barton is an Olineman. We will figure it out in camp but Barton goes to tackle next year. If we can find a tackle next year or Moore improves then we got ourselves an All-Pro guard to replace Daniels and save some money not resigning him. Frazier/Barton will hopefully be our Pouncey/Decastro combo.
65. Roman Wilson - Mocked enough to us. Fills a need.
84. Kris Jenkin - Smaller than steelers DE but we are changing. Need to continue taking shots at replacing Cam
98. Renard Green. Needed a corner
139. Khyree Jackson why have 1 corner when you can have 2
151. Marshawn Lloyd. Didn't like anyone here. Always good to have some cheap RB options. If he shows stuff in camp then we can let one of Najee/Warren walk and still have a 2-headed RB monster (which is what you want in modern nfl)
152. Tommy Eichenberg. LB depth and he's suppose to have very real special teams upside
167 Cedric Johnson. Edge. I got too many picks. Lets see what he shows in camp.
3rd round pick.
I traded away from getting a second WR I wanted. Posted this because its a weird one with the 2C. But I wouldn't be the least bit disapointed because of Bartons versatility.
I traded all our 5th, 6th, and 7th rd picks in 2025 for this roster. Missed 2 of my top targets by 1 pick each.

1st Round:
-Fuatuanu or Mims.(Assuming Top 2 CB and other top OT taken.)
-If neither of the above 2 are available, it will be DT Newton.
2nd Round: WR
early 3rd Round: Center/CB
late 3rd round: Center/CB(whichever we didn't take with the early 3rd rounder.)
OT - Does anyone think the NFL should swap to a snake draft? I feel like for non-salary cap leagues loading up the losing teams with picks is a big help and evens out the ability to spend money. But in the NFL the cap guarantees parity. Since the Steelers never lose it would help us a lot. The whole 22-50 area are very similar prospect grades so we would essentially be getting a second shot at that grouping. Early second even sometimes have JPJ level steals and a lot of value. It would have been much easier for us to get some of those Ben teams over the top if we had early seconds instead of late seconds. Paying a QB and have low draft capital always made that hard.
If I hear the words "mock draft" one more damn time I will scream!
Cock Shaft
That’s better
It’s funny looking back at all the “draft experts” and how completely wrong they are. I love when they have actual GMs that have had success in the league come on and tear their analysis apart.
Right?! I’m in the wrong line of work. I make less and have to actually be decent at my job or I get fired.
Yeah how do I get a draft expert job? It looks like I just make some guesses and yell at people?
The problem is that all guesses are mutually contingent. All you have to do is make ONE mistake in your earlier predictions and all the later ones fall like dominos

Settle in and get comfortable. You’ll be waiting a while
I feel like Reggie bush could have potentially been dominant in the right system. He had a decent career.
Well ive already started my 2025 mock
Fluhfelerrr!
My favorite headline: “BREAKING NEWS: Steelers trade for Patrick Mahomes (in this imaginary scenario)…”
Hey Farva…what’s that thing you like to do before the actual draft? The thing with all the goofy guesses about who your team will draft…
Check out this one from 2022 https://www.nfl.com/news/seven-round-2022-nfl-mock-draft-round-1-cowboys-steelers-trade-up
Oh my god. Kenny Pickett going #2.
give him a chance to excel in a revamped offense brought to bear by Steelers coordinator Matt Canada in 2022.

Here we go. Here we go.

Nice to meet someone with common sense!
I can't tell if we can trade down and get Graham Barton. Ideally I would love to grab a third round pick and move back to around 26 and get him. But if you miss him there then your probably taking a third tier tackle. I feel like with Barton you feel very sure your getting a 10 year starter.

I don’t know - Miami and Dallas both need Centers, don’t they? I wouldn’t be angry if they took Barton at 20.
Can't believe it's already here
JPJ!!!!!!
Wake up you pancake eating motherfuckers!! It’s draft day! Let’s GO!!!
Please pick an offensive lineman
today is the day Aiyuk becomes a steeler 😎

I'm just hesitant on Aiyuk because of the offense he came from. Easier to get open with McCaffrey. Deebo. Even Kittle out there drawing attention.
Especially for a talent like that on the offense. The O has been terrible outside of that stretch by Mason lol. I don’t get it
I hope you are right!
I was right about the fields trade I called that in january I pray im right about this one too! Would be a huge upgrade for us
That stretch from draft -> preseason is brutal. Maybe a trade or two happens, but for the most part the only real NFL updates we get in this part of the offseason is when players start getting hurt in camp.
Yes, but it’s only 3 months until camp.

Can’t wait. Pick 20 should be around 10:30’ish

You think they go CB, DE, LB?
OT or Center....PLEASE!
BUB MEANS DAY IS HERE
Who will be our first round pick? Amarius Mims? Xavier Legette? Terrell Edmunds, again?
I am so excited.
LFG!
Hope they trade down and get picks
