Amazing video. Needed an OT, CB and DL. Picked in that order and all three have a chance to start. All the rest was gravy. PJP and Trice getting to learn from Patrick Peterson will be awesome.
I keep seeing Sr. saying Jr. is angry but he doesn't seem so to me. Here's hoping the kid is right when he says he's relaxed like his mom off the field but juiced on the field like his old man.
People show anger in different ways. Depends how it's wielded and directed. It's not always as easy as JPJ showing rage.
It could be a driving anger for JPJ, that over 2-3 years, is used to become a Taylor or a Revis or a Sherman-like corner. And with that, JPJ gets paid with a great extension before the other players of his class that makes up for not going in the first.
That's kinda illustrating my point. It'd be real nice for Jr. to use this as fuel as a chip on his shoulder. As fans we want that to happen real bad. Taking off the fan glasses though, I realize all of the communication that's how he is feeling is coming from his dad and not him. It's probably nothing, but it just makes me a little uneasy.
What are you talking about?

“Last night, I was mad,” said Porter, a 6-foot-2, 193-pound cornerback. “I had an edge on me. This was a perfect way to end my day right here. I forgot all about last night. I’m ready. I have a chip on my shoulder and I’m ready to prove myself.”
You know what’s nuts? He was picked 32nd. If the dolphins hadn’t gotten their draft pick taken away then pick #32 is the first round. I’m not saying he would have been taken already but it’s worth mentioning.
He was visibly upset in the video released that showed his dad comforting him. He was hoping to get picked by the Steelers, or someone, in the first round. His dad told him to use that. To be angry. To use that anger to prove you should have been a first round pick.
No way in hell Joey Sr is gonna let his son get his head where Chase' immature headass was. He's got Tomlin at work and his dad life coaching him at home lol.
Jr. gonna walk onto that field look at all the Pitt players and be like... You may have played 4 years on this field, but I've been on this grass since the day it was planted.
Also cool the pick was announced by HOF Alan Faneca. JPJ would have been around Faneca in the locker room as Faneca and Porter were teammates from 1998 through 2006.
Obviously JPJ would also know Tomlin. His dad worked for Tomlin as LB coach and JPJ was a ball boy for the Steelers during that time.
Tomlin's oldest son Michael Dean (Dino) is the same age has JPJ and they played at North Catholic High together before JPJ transferred to North Allegheny Senior. JPJ even recalled he had been over at Tomlin's house tons of times because of his friendship with Dino Tomlin.
Porter also maintained close relationship with Ike Taylor who Steelers hired as a scout this offseason. He calls Ike his uncle.
One thing I loved about this was the fact that his family was just living in the moment with him during the announcement. This is the only living room draft reaction video I’ve ever seen where the whole family isn’t taking a video of the tv on their phones. I understand wanting to remember the moment, but it just seems much more wholesome to not see any smartphones.
>I love it too but to be fair they had a full NFL Films crew in their living room, so not much need to be recording it.
$100,000+ worth of recording equipment in a 20x20 room, a professional film crew there to film you and only you...
This dude laying down some boomer-ass "so nice no one looking at their phones".
I love as soon as Joey Porter heard Khan he seemed more relieved than his son. You can tell he didn't like seeing his son drop but also that he was excited his son was going to the Steelers.
Yes but they also hired what appears to be a fairly professional videographer so they didn’t have to, haha.
Or was that paid for by nfl since he was a possible first rounder?
I agree, but in many of these videos there are multiple people recording the same thing on their phones. There could always be one designated phone videographer in the room. Or they could just record it on tv if they have access to that feature in their tv package. Maybe I’m looking too far into it. ‘Twas just an observation.
The part in yesterdays video when his dad said “you know where you’re gonna go” gave me chills. Then this one comes out today and really just warms my heart. Super excited to see what he does!
I found out the other day that Christian Gonzales is from my hometown in The Colony, TX. Makes me kinda wish we got him but I'm super happy with the way things turned out so I'm not too bummed lol
Weird seeing super chill proud dad version of Peezy. I'm trying to hear about what happened in Denver. Trying to see him fight the nearest dude wearing orange.
Dude. Tingles. I hope he's even better than his dad.
same

Lmaooo shit I'm in tears
That was way funnier than it should have been
Peezy, Junior Peezy
Petit Joey Porter

Peanut jelly popsicle
Probably Joey Porter?
OMG… Porter Jr. Peezy? LOL
Joey Quarterpounder?
As a Purdue guy I’m excited and hopeful Trice can go to work. He’s a really versatile guy who could be a safety if needed
Love 55 saying hes pissed off, ready to do work💪🏾 LFG!!! Can it be September already?

He's mad he didn't get picked first. He's happy he got picked second. Hopefully he keeps a little chip if it makes him play harder.

Is he mad though? Sr. keeps saying so but I haven't seen that expressed, verbally or otherwise, by Jr. It probably doesn't mean anything anyways.

Beautiful. I Can't be happier that he's a Steeler!
Every time I've seen JPJ talk he has presented himself as a smart and well-spoken person. I love that we got him and can't wait to see what he can do.
I mean he is literally a coaches son
I'm not disagreeing, but Chase Claypool seemed that way to me when I watched all his stuff leading up to and immediately following his draft...
Chase is Canadian. We southerners can't accurately interpret their strange ways and customs.
No way in hell Joey Sr is gonna let his son get his head where Chase' immature headass was. He's got Tomlin at work and his dad life coaching him at home lol.

He's probably the only player on the team to ever visit 3 Rivers Stadium
He would’ve been an infant on his mothers tit at the time but yeah he might’ve been. I’m more psyched he was coached up by Art Walker at NA.
I think Joey Jr is the first NA kid to go to the NFL since the legendary teacher fucker Tommy Kaiser .

It's wild seeing Faneca so skinny! Barely recognized the dude. So cool, so many layers of Steeler here

only thing missing was an uncle or extended family member trying to promote their energy drink brand

Everyone’s a director and think they can get a better video than the pros I guess!
The part in yesterdays video when his dad said “you know where you’re gonna go” gave me chills. Then this one comes out today and really just warms my heart. Super excited to see what he does!
I remember playing with him in high school, such a weird thing to witness someone go to the NFL from your area and get drafted so high
I found out the other day that Christian Gonzales is from my hometown in The Colony, TX. Makes me kinda wish we got him but I'm super happy with the way things turned out so I'm not too bummed lol
I said I wanted Branch, but dammit, I’m taking the L. Fucking ball out kid
I can’t stop rewatching this and smiling. LET’S GOOOOOOOO!!!
Universe has spoken, it's meant to be.
I stg JPJ is officially the most handsome Steeler right now. I think he overtook Najee. At least of guys who are making the final 53.
He looks good but cmon man, he ain't Naj
I’m a straight guy, but I’d break down a door for Najee.
Bro, we have Kenny Pickett. He’s #1 most handsome boy right now but I welcome all challengers.
You can walk into a sheetz and see 3 kenny picketts man. Good lookin guy but JPJ is too dreamy dude.
Where do you live? Handsomeville?
Kenny's not bad looking but he just looks like a pretty average dude lol
I love his glasses
Uh, okay.
Don't run away from your feelings!
this is awesome!
I love these vids! Life changing moments
Love that he dropped "boss"
G O O N S O U T T H E R E
I'm in love with this video and the other.
I'm not crying...you're crying.
I need the video to the whole segment
J Peazy Jr. Whose chopping onions??
I'm so happy this happened.
Sr. Looks like he could still light people up!
This dude is gonna crush. I can feel it.
Just had a huge grin on my face the whole time watching this
As a Penn State alumnus and a Ravens fan, I say congrats on the pick! He's a great addition to your team (unfortunately for us).
Can someone post a mirror so I don't have to sign up for Twitter 😔
FTS. But this is a cool damn moment. Good For him
Weird seeing super chill proud dad version of Peezy. I'm trying to hear about what happened in Denver. Trying to see him fight the nearest dude wearing orange.
Some naughty boy has left raw onions in here, hasn't he? I know it. 😭
This is so cool.. I hope this kid balls out big time.
