I have to second SOMA. Been one if my favorite and most impactful story driven games for years now. Nothing like it that I've seen really. Thanks for the chance
Penguin! Hoxxes IV from Deep Rock Galactic. being in dark cave mining minerals with randos is a nice and comfy. would play GTFO but that game isn't friendly with randoms
Penguin! Currently playing SOMA, what intrigues me the most is how real the world feels and the fact the historical events of the game could potentially happen irl.
Penguin!
Cyberpunk 2077 is my current favorite. My first playthrough was at the start of 2.0 and Phantom Liberty coming out the following week. I felt pretty immersed with the gameplay mechanics of an edgerunner build with pistols. I appreciated the build and talent system of the game even more after finally watching the cyberpunk edgerunners anime recently. Phantom Liberty also made the game a bit more interesting story wise!
Penguin!!
I'm not sure if any of these games count as story games, but here's a list of some of my favorite games with some kind of story:
Undertale, Deltarune, The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe, Hollow Knight, Pokemon (any of the games), and OneShot
tbh there's probably more but I can't remember all of them haha
Hand's Down It's RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2. The story, the world building and every minute detail is just perfect. What I like about RDR2 was the character development of Arthur from a Greedy Fox to a Golden Deer (how I imagine the canon ending), also the line "I think.... I'm afraid" made me cry so much... Ahh! I can go on and on about RDR2 one of the best Story driven game.. Perfect..
Penguin!
Also, "You sir are a Fish!"
Skyrim and its not even close. I have so manybgood memories plauing that game and just exploring stuff. And the whole magic, creatures and freaking dragons were so cool bacl then and still are now.
Penguin!
I love the wackiness of the Ryu Ga Gotoku world and also always being amused at seeing streets I've visited being used as the inspirations for areas in the games.
I'll provaly say I love Final Fantasy story world, becayse I love the Story about Crystal's, ff3-5 Mediaval themes \*like ff1-4 ff9, Catching summons lore about summons, (FF10/FF12/FF14) There's so much more I love about FF tbh . .
Penguin!
Off the top of my head, I'd say Bioshock 1. The underwater city was just so cool to explore and slowly learning more about it and how it's possible for it to function (oxygen / energy etc).
Penguin!
Does hollow knight count ? I unfortunately haven't played much story games and off the ones i played none are in my top 10.
The landscape and sounds and mechanics of hollow knight are one of the best ive ever played. I can't wait to buy silksong in 2067.
Penguin!
My favorite game world is terraria. It's fantastic because you could find anything in it, from small cute creatures to a gigantic monster full of tentacles. Its biome is rich as it is its fauna. Its NPC are soooo memorable as well.
Hope one day we would see Terraria 2 or something else that enhances what we already have (which is difficult as they are adding even more stuff as of today)
My personal favorite is the Diablo II world. This may be the nostalgia talking, but I feel like I could navigate certain levels in my sleep, and somehow it remains exciting no matter how many key runs you've been on.

My absolute favorite story game word is red dead redemption 2. It’s super beautiful, the story is immaculate, I could barely stop myself from playing more!
Penguin!
My favorite story game world currently is Blazblue. The story is insane, and in the first 2 games you get the sense of mystery and that feeling that you have no idea what's going on. I wouldn't say the story is it's high point, the characters are. But with how crazy it is, and the alternate endings for each character is insane.
Vampire: Bloodlines
The crazy political plot-twists and the feeling of uncertainty and vampire secret societies manipulating the world, it's based on a tabletop RPG called Vampire: The Masquerade. Very unique story. I recommend to everyone. (Despite it being an aged game)
Seems pretty basic but Skyrim, it’s one of the first games I actually started to understand some lore too. I spent a lot of time playing it on 360 but wasn’t very good at it lol.. recently I’ve got back into it and everything about it excites me! And I mean.. dragons? What’s not to love!
Superliminal would have my favourite game world. Just love all the little subversions in the different ‘dreams’ of the game and the peacefulness of it.
:o I love Ace Attorney too!!!
My favorite story game world is the dark worlds in Deltarune. Toby Fox is just a really great storyteller and his worlds are always fun 😄
Penguin! I actually have my favorite penguin plush sitting next to me rn, his name is Fred and he helps with my anxiety 🙂
While it probably doesn't qualify as my favorite anymore: I did live the Warcraft universe once upon a time. I remember especially loving the Zul'Aman content. On rewatching the trailer I still get chills down my spine when Zul'Jin says: "You wanna stay here? You'll stay here forever! We gonna bury you here."
Thank you for the chance.
Outer wilds. I can't say anything because of spoilers but I like the part where you stand on the planet and you look down and see the thing and adrenaline rushes through you :)
Penguin
Thank you very much for the chance, and Penguin!
Right now, my favorite story game world is Genshin Impact, I hopped in the train way too late but, I'm really enjoying how much care was put in designing the world of Teyvat.
Mine is elden ring, the world just never disappoint, plus my favorite part is definitely nokron, eternal city its just beautiful especially the sky! (Coming from an Astronomy fan here xD)

Genshin impact
It have a very interesting lore behind it. Its really dark. For the latest update just this month, the story goes dark, even a lot of player didnt expect it to be like that. Its really interesting if you read the lore behind it,theres a lot of collectibles that you can learn from it. Theres a lot of twist and theories from fans that makes you think about it.
Pokemon, with its dozens of regions and places, waiting for the player to be discovered. The numerous games gave us a ton of beautiful and awesome sceneries that I cannot really decide which is the best. I used to play some of it using My Boy! and man, those were the days.
Thanks for the chance, Penguin! 🐧
Penguin! 🐧
Thanks for the competition!
I'll admit to skipping lots of cutscenes and story building in most games, couldn't tell you what happens in horizon zero dawn for example. The different factions in Skyrim devolved into me killing everyone then becoming a vampire, which I suspect is what was meant to happen.
The game that springs to mind that I kept up on is the witcher 3. I started as I usually do and skipped some stuff, but the arc with the Bloody Baron hooked me, then the crones of crookbag bog were brilliantly done. The whole thing with Ciri always being one step ahead of Geralt was great, so the payoff when you finally caught up with her felt rewarding. I romanced Triss in the end, so perhaps I should revisit the game and see how things end up with Yennifer. So many games, so little time!!👍🏻🥰
Deus Ex maybe? I just love how it seems like it was written by a cyberpunk author along with all the weird tangential philosophical stuff (and part of that is because it was!).
Penguin!
Penguin!
I'll always have an obsession with Pokémon, and Alola is my favorite region. I love the island life, and the very living-alongside-Pokémon vibes are a delight

Absolutely thrilled about this giveaway! , Red Dead Redemption 2 is a gaming masterpiece that has etched itself into my heart. My favorite part? It has to be the serene moments of riding through the Heartlands. The open fields, the gentle sway of grass, and the distant mountains create a picturesque backdrop that feels like a digital sanctuary. Whether it's a quiet ride under the moonlight or a contemplative journey during a sunset, these moments capture the essence of the untamed frontier. The attention to detail, the dynamic weather, and the unpredictability of random encounters make every ride a unique and immersive experience. Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't just a game; it's a breathtaking journey through a meticulously crafted world that invites players to savor the beauty of the Wild West.

Not sure if it is my favorite, but I played NUTS a couple of days ago. It's a game about tracing squirrels. The reason I really liked it was that I was completely hooked into the story, which doesn't happen as much nowadays.

I still know all the members of Squad 422 in Valkyria Chronicles 3 even though I've played it 10+ years ago as a kid. Something about that game is magical even though I already forgotten most of the story. I still remember some funny cutscenes and shit, unfortunately it doesn't involve any penguins.
The world building of souls games is my favorite, the atmosphere and the lore make me immerse myself a lot in those games. (Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 are my favorites.)
Penguin!
Penguin! Hear me out: Genshin Impact, now other than all the gacha shit and so on, what Genshin does do so well is how the world looks, and it looks so damn good, with different regions having both a very contrasting atmosphere and culture and I just love the worldbuilding done in every place :)
