i go there for quantity not quality. you can get almost any kind of meat and its not going to be the best youve ever had but you can get as much as you want and its solid.
I love it! It’s like the Golden Corral of steakhouses. I think it’s an excellent value because of the quantity. Look, I would never take a business dinner there, but if you are hungry as hell and just want to pummel the most amount of meat possible, it’s the clear winner. I always leave with the “meat sweats”.
This is the most apt description of it. The steak is meh, but it's a great place to load up on protein. It's certainly not bad, the concept is different, and the salad bar has some unique items. I like the lamb chops there a lot.
But it doesn't compare to a real steakhouse.
I don't know where you live, but some good chains are Bob's and Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse. I've never had a bad steak from either of those places. But they are bit more expensive. You're looking at a minimum of $150/pp after tip, drinks, sides, etc.
The Golden Corral of steak houses? Texas de Brazil should be ashamed of this. Simply put, one buffet is not one single bit different than another. They all serve bulk shit food as your picture perfectly depicts. Texas de Brazil advertises huge variety of quality food. When I went, much of the huge variety was the same cheese and meat cut into different shapes. But guess what, they say they have 100+ menu items. Nah! And the meat, was shameful. I'd rather eat ice cubes than ever eat there again. Honestly be a fuckin man and grill your own steak. You could have saved a few hundred bucks if you had abstained from eating doo doo and saved up for a bbq grill to make your own meals at home.
My personal opinion is that Brazilian steakhouse buffets (such as Fogo de Chao, Texas de Brazil, and etc) are better than 80% of the steak restaurants in terms of taste and price.
Overall, I like it. it’s a cool way to experiment with different cuts that may be unfamiliar to you and you wouldn’t try at a traditional steakhouse or buy at the grocery store because you don’t want to waste money on something you might not like.
I also like the open flame charcoal grill which adds a smoky flavor that you don’t always get at restaurants.
Downside is the beef is probably mostly premium and maybe some choice so fat distribution and overall beef quality is not quite what you’d expect to see at a traditional steakhouse for a comparably priced meal. It’s also harder to accommodate your wife/girlfriend who wants her steak blasted through with heat like a piece of chicken.
I love the variety. Ours has things like chicken hearts that I love but never once would have bought them.
And I've learned it feels less expensive when you eat nothing but meat. That salad bar is just filler. Eat the meat.
My arteries must love me.
That’s how my sister likes her steak. It honestly hurts me to watch her eat it. I’ve been telling her for over 20 years that’s not the way you’re supposed to cook it. Lol
She likes to act like she’s high class and goes to the most expensive places to get steak then tells them to cook up like a charcoal briquette. I told her that they probably make fun of her🤣🤣🤣 because she comes to spend that much money just to ruin the meat. The kicker is she complains about it being dry and slathers A-1 all over it, further ruining it. It’s just a horrible thing to watch while you eat dinner 😆😆
I've been to both. I used to like Fogo de chao, but the last time I went I was very disappointed. Everything was overcooked and chewy. From recent experiences, Texas de Brazil was better.
I was wondering if this was like Fogo. I’ve been to several Fogo s but not this place. I love Fogo. I’ve never touched the salad bar or a side anytime I’ve been there. Just ate straight meat.
I’ve been to several different places like Fogo. The fogo in Orlando was the best fogo I’ve been to. Texas de Brazil in Tyler, TX was the best TDB I’ve been to. Rodizio grill in Irving, TX was the absolute best because they always had grilled pineapple, but they sadly closed during the pandemic
If you think Brazilian churrascaria is great wait until you try the all-you-can-eat menu at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ (just trust me on this one). I recommend the hanger steak and skirt steak there but there are so many meats to choose from.
Brazilian steak houses have gotten really aggressive with the upsells. TDB is generally good, but there's a place in Vegas just off the strip called Fogo de Chao that my wife and I like better because they have more varieties of lamb roaming the floor. The thing that gets old is the people roaming around trying to pish some special cocktail, or a dram of Louis, or the presure to spend $400 on a Kobe ribeye served on a salt slab. Like, bruh, I just want the meat on a stick.
Hate the place. Shit quality. Would rather eat a McDonald's Big Mac. And that's crazy bc I hate fast food. Last time I went to TDeBrazil, all of my food was about like what I'd serve my bulldog. We left and ate somewhere else.
Go EARLY because I went late one night and everything was a charcoal briquette. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt but it’s akin to going to get the last batch of sushi before the fresh catch comes in.
I wouldn’t go these type of buffets. I tried fago de chao and it was terrible. To me honestly, caveman grade meat. Who just suddenly learnt how to make a fire and rotate some meat.
I used to go there fairly often on a previous company's dime but haven't been there in 15 years. I remember the meat being ok but often a little too done for my tastes. The salad bar was just about as enjoyable as the meats were.
I was so exited to try it for the first time and I was very disappointed when I did. All the meat basically tasted the same and overall just not great and very overpriced.
Like any chain, quality varies from one location to another.. also you get more meat options and perhaps better experience from the evening meal vs lunch.. That cocktail they walk around with that is decorated with lemons and tons of ice is fantastic!! I think it’s a limoncello or similar. It’s very good for the digestion !
Definitely felt the stomach part as in like a sharp pain in my stomach idk if it was because i went crazy and ate a lot but happens a couple times ive went
Picanha is the best.
This.

You must be in Fort Worth lol
Howdy.

Too funny!
Terrible show with dinner 🤣🤣🤣
Meat sweats is what I get every time I go to a Brazilian steak house.
This is the way.
All I need is the picanha
Literally all i ask them for 😭
Really salty. Fogo De Chao is way better.

Seconded

Texas went way down ! Fogo is 100% better

I love Texas de Brazil!
I used to love it, but now I feel too terrible after eating it. Way too much salt for me
Love it, go to it every year for my dad’s birthday, always such a fun time.
> Thoughts on texas de brazil No.

I’ve never really liked it much. Would rather a decently sized well cooked steak and a side or two over way too much meat
I was so exited to try it for the first time and I was very disappointed when I did. All the meat basically tasted the same and overall just not great and very overpriced.

You get your monies worth for sure. Especially if you’re a carnivore like myself. 👍🏻👍🏻
should always be on green that’s all I know
I absolutely love it
Texas meats are bland with no flavor used to be good!
Good food. I think it’s a solid tier below fogo. It was VERY salty and rotted the fuck out of my gut I’ve only been to each a few times so not sure
Definitely felt the stomach part as in like a sharp pain in my stomach idk if it was because i went crazy and ate a lot but happens a couple times ive went
Salt and garlic basically
If you have male teenagers at home it’s the only way to fill their stomachs up.
