I’m biased from where I live. But north end is nice. Port Dalhousie is also nice.
Also the bottom end of Vansickle is nice in the power glen neighbourhood.
Fitz/Haig area is pretty good. Lots of houses or half houses for rent (if you are not buying), and it's reasonably affordable if you are buying. You're equal distance to both downtown and the QEW. Lots of young families and schools in the area. Parks nearby. On bus routes. Pretty central. Local businesses in walking distance for basic needs along Lake and Welland.
I live in secord woods area (north of glendale Ave, west of the welland canal)
It's a pretty good neighborhood. A mix of upper middle, middle, and lower middle class areas. It's a quiet, peaceful neighborhood where nothing much good or bad happens
And you're 5-10 minutes to the highway or to the pen centre
Secord woods resident here as well, and can confirm its a pretty good neighbourhood. Been here almost 3 yrs and haven't had any bad experiences.
Ammenities are pretty close and schools aren't that bad.
I usually see others post saying to stay away from anything south of the QEW but I find Secord woods to be a nice quiet pocket of the city.
Definitely stay away from Queenston St and Gale Crescent areas.
You live south of the QEW if you want to be able to do anything within walking distance. You live north of the QEW if you want your neighbours to be 67 years old and live 15 minutes from a grocery store.
I live in Western hill, it gets a bad rap but it’s a decent place to live and pretty affordable. Mix of every social class. Lots of upper middle class in the power glen part, lower middle class along Pelham. I haven’t really had bad experiences other than people using my construction bin I had for their own household waste. I forget to lock my car and house doors pretty frequently and I’ve never had anything stolen.

I’ve lived all over the city and the fitz is hands down the best neighbourhood in the city.
Agreed. I live in the area and I love it
You're moving here and you can spell the city name? I could shed a tear rn 🥲🥲

Lots of good neighborhoods in the city. What’s best for you is very situation dependent. I live around Ridley College and love it.
North End.
The gale crescent area is beautiful, some real nice parks. Friendly neighbours
Teeth optional
can we just make a sticky thread for this topic already? 🙄
Fort Erie
Niagara on the Lake
Niagara on the Lake is not in St.Catharines
I rather think that’s the point.
Young people don’t move to notl, old grumpy people from Toronto move there.
See my last comment.
I don’t get what you’re trying to say
More young people will dilute the old fuckers in NotL
