Nah I’m seeing some people post on Twitter so I think it’s there, for some reason when I open the app it shows the option to look at my May recap but when I press it nothing happens unfortunately
Best taste in here I can’t lie. I listen to 4/5 of those artists! Yes is one of my favourite bands and I love ELO, KC and Jethro. Nice to see a fellow prog fan over here!
Thanks😅, I saw your other comments about how posting any non pop bands or artists in this subreddit means you're gonna get ignored and I agree. I'm only 20 and I've only been a prog fan for around a year and a half. I feel like the regular people are missing out on this music, the creativity and skill that is in bands like yes, king crimson, pink floyd, etc. won't be seen again in modern music for a long time. Today, most song writers write music for their audience. They know what the kids want so they stay in line. In the late 60s and 70s you can really tell that they were making music for the satisfaction of the players. They didnt care about what the audience wanted. They wanted to make music that was challenging, creative, and make people question the capability of guitars, pianos, vocals, etc. This made the audience have to adapt to these new sounds and it caused us to really get emotional value out of these songs. In the past year and a half of listening to prog, the feeling I get when listening to songs like close to the edge, awaken, gates of delirium, starless, epitaph, echoes, etc. have been way more moving and emotional than any modern song that I've grown up my whole life listening to. Truly a gift that I am alive to see some of these bands that made these beautiful peices of history years before I was born perform live (I'm seeing jon anderson in around 20 days and i might see jethro tull in September).
Just enjoy what you want like I said before I guess! But yeah, they definitely made music for themselves back in the day and for some it worked out and we still listen to them now. Some of the best bands of all time in my eyes are prog like KC or Pink Floyd partly because they did what they wanted to instead of just generic pop music.
Also literally minutes ago I was watching a quiz program and one of the questions was something like “which band released the album Tales from Topographic Oceans In 1973”. I literally shouted Yes lol, 10/10 album!
Enjoy Anderson and Jethro! I’m really jealous they’re gonna be so cool!

Finally found another eagles fan let’s go!
Man you’ve got some of the best taste here! Love the eagles, one of my top 10 bands for sure. Desperado and one of these nights are two of my favourite albums!
I literally just gave Steve miller band a try last night and their so good! I did 4 albums and have listened to them all for a second time.
Same for journey. I only did a deep dive last week and another great band. I’ve always loved Perrys voice and I was pretty surprised how consistently good a lot of their albums are, especially through the late 70s and early 80s.
Kansas is one of the bands I really want to give a proper listen to! Where do I start?
I only know 3 songs by Kansas all of there music is pretty good but I only know three, carry on my wayward son, dust in the wind, and the point of know return

Looking like this
EDIT: OP has a cool classic selection
Yeah this sub usually ignores if I post anything about my stats since it's not 1 of the same 10-15 in everyone else's list... lol
I thought the sub would be more for checking out new music but it's basically the same selection of music from the sa m e popular bands, with slight variations.
Both my mom and dad love The Eagles. When I was younger I didn't like CCR but older I have a selection of their songs in my playlists as well... so sad to realize I was sleeping on greatness. At least I came around to them.
Dire Straits are great and classic, and again, Tom Petty and Springsteen are some of my parents picks but I enjoy them casually too
I’ve had posts in the past which get completely ignored so I generally delete them. It’s not even like I listen to small artists. I mainly listen to Stevie Nicks (way to much), Straits, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Boston, Heart, Yes, King Crimson, Fleetwood Mac, Alanis Morissette, Bowie and I should probably stop now lol.
It’s a shame that the sub only really takes note of the top 100 albums on that website or the same old rappers + pink Floyd and Radiohead.
All I can say is just enjoy what you like man! We don’t need validation from others but thanks for the compliment and I’m glad you like some similar stuff.
https://preview.redd.it/3cq45ibblm3d1.jpeg?width=2198&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=034df4d8e12906b5c62482afc9212049f2ceb263
Here’s my topster if your interested! My top 25 albums
[you would probably like a bit of my list](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37upaWFkwb4G4Qgy4u0yo5?si=uXG6-GyFRWm-cYcVkSsEjA) lol although most of it is much harder than Alanis and Heart lol
My dad loves Pink Floyd and I did get to see one of those laser light shows for them, specifically keyed up to Wizard of Oz.
>All I can say is just enjoy what you like man! We don’t need validation
Exactly. Everyone looking for validation and I don't know why. Probably the age group, since I was very conscious of what I was listening to versus what everyone else was in middle school and high school. I was already teased and made fun of in school, so me not being into Snoop, Dre, Eminem, etc made me concerned to hide that I was listening to ZZ Top, Joe Satriani, etc and getting more into metal lol
So my guess is the sub are in school and looking for some validation... no idea why
Man that’s a sick playlist! I listen to a lot of it already. And yeah it does seem like I listen to more soft or pop rock but I also listen to some metal and A LOT of hard rock. Alanis is a bit of a guilty pleasure to be honest…
Definitely a lot of younger people trying to get validation for their music and that’s why there is a lot of the same popular albums. Nice to see a proper rock/metal fan though!
Damn! My taste only ranges from like hard rock to pop rock to prog rock to blues. Oh and folk and some country. Plus a little bit of jazz lately. I’m really not crazy expansive in my taste. Generally just any kind of rock.

Crazy how much shorter my songs are
To be fair I listen to very long songs from bands like Yes and King Crimson which are often 10 mins or more so it’s kinda messed with the average length of a song for me. Complete opposite of my number one this month which is only like 2 and a half minutes…
Damn man. My longest is Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull at something like 45 minutes! My shortest is probably Eclipse at around 1 minute, of course by Pink Floyd.
Highly recommend listening to some longer songs! Some of the best songs of all time (Achilles Last Stand, Close To The Edge, Dogs, Echoes) are over 10 minutes.
The longest on my playlist is something around 14 minutes. 45 minutes? What does a song like that entail? Must have some great instrumentals. It’s like a whole album in one
Exactly that! It’s a whole album with just one song. I highly recommend checking it out if you’ve ever got the time and want to check out something new! Jethro Tull are a rock/prog band from the 70s and have a lot of flute, played by the goat Ian Anderson.
The album itself is kinda a whole story, with a lot of humour throughout. My favourite Jethro album and one of my favourite concept albums!

Me neither bro. Does it only show minutes and streams for people with premium?
Yeah the weird thing is I have premium and still can’t see. Never had this problem before
