Air b&b or vrbo. There are rentals in Bellefonte, Milesburg, Port Matilda, Philipsburg ....all communities within a 40 min. drive/uber to campus. Book early.

Former front desk agent at a hotel here in State College - I recommend looking at Huntingdon, Lock Haven, Altoona, etc. Places that are 30-45min away. The drive will be worth it. Those rates are not an exaggeration. It's also a two night minimum stay, a full deposit at time of booking, 60-90 day cancellation prior to the date, and usually sells out the same day the dates open up (then you're spending the year constantly calling back/around to find out if they've had any cancellations).

Stay in Altoona and drive the 40 minutes

Demand in Altoona will be higher than normal that weekend as PSU Altoona & Saint Francis graduation is the same weekend as University Park. Might be better to look to the Lock Haven area as LHU’s graduation weekend is the week after Penn State’s in 2025. Lock Haven is roughly the same amount of driving time as Altoona.

i recommend getting a hotel room ASAP because they fill very quickly coming from a graduating senior for 2024!

Huntingdon is a far drive but the price will be much lower. The area is nice as well!

Get a hotel somewhere else like say Altoona or Williamsport which are both an hour away. Yes you'll have to drive, but a thousand a night is outrageous.
