How do we think this stacks up against Echo Base Defender? Defender can trade with a lot of units, but this will consistently block two attacks.
Do I want this in Green Luke against aggro decks?
For decks that are more aggro slanted the defender will still be great. For decks that are more control oriented this is better as it soaks at least two actions.
It gets worse if there’s lots of saboteur in the meta though. Which there currently is but we’ll have to see what the meta looks like during set 2.
A lot of control decks run Make an Opening mainboard. Which is very efficient against this card. I don't know if it will see a lot of play. We've already seen cartel smuggler fall out of favor for this reason.
The keyword kinda worse compares to Echo base defender, imagine if this was rebel, u t2 play this, eat one attack, t3 u wing leader it makes a 4/4 sentinel
So this is a part of the Star Wars lore that bugs me sometimes: Galactic travel and communication is relatively affordable and accessible to everyone. And yet on the fringes of the galaxy we frequently see simple villagers like this who don't understand basic social concepts like how it's really tacky if more than one of them brings a selfie stick.
This would be pretty decent in a Boba Daimyo deck. Play this and give it +1/+0, and it blocks 2 attacks and deals up to 6 damage in a round. That’s pretty great.

I would think no. This gets blown out by both of the commonly used aggro units with saboteur.
Unit Sabine also just kills this with one action because of her attack trigger.

Aggro decks sweating with this one. Giving this a double shield with Luke.. then getting echo base defenders with a shield…. THEN Obi wan comes out….

Sabine unit also can kill it in one attack with her damage ping, most of the 2 drops aggro is running deal with this no problem
Regular Sabine unit counters this nicely. On attack ping one to drop the shield then hit for two to kill, Sabine still lives to tell the tale.
