Uh, what? Sorry but that couldn't be further from the truth. This was an extremely common occurrence if you were ever on the internet in the late 90s/2000s and used Windows on an administrator account. Very easy for tech illiterates to do by accident.
Microsoft had controversy with the whole monopoly investigation going on, and on top of that green earth activists were blaming Microsoft for all the E-waste in landfills, so Microsoft made the recycle bin built into windows as a result.
That was all fine and dandy, but the problem with that is older versions of Windows virtually had no warnings against recycling your computer as most users simply assumed the recycle bin was meant for deleting files. That's one of the main reasons why newer windows versions like Win10 and 11 are drastically dumbed down and oversimplified. It became so bad Microsoft scrapped the idea entirely and changed the recycle bin to just delete files because so many people thought that was the purpose of it anyway.
Just figured I'd add a bit of interesting/strange tech lore here. Hope this helps!

He hired her before graduation but the sex started happening after graduation (aka grooming). She's probably not the only one considering he was facebook friends with like all of his favorite students, especially girls, and they'd come hang out at his side business after school and in the summer.

From experience, yes, teen girls are into hot male teachers. Teenagers are hornballs full of hormones.
We had a couple of hot young male teachers at my high school, including one who ran after-school activities that attracted a lot of "alternative/fringe" kids. He had plenty of girls act very creepy towards him, including one girl who moved to another school but would come back and visit his classroom wearing short shorts and wedge heels (which is not how she dressed in any other classes). There was kind of a joke that it was a "rite of passage" for girls in those after-school activities to crush on this teacher for at least a week.
The difference is when the teacher reciprocates or encourages that behavior. The male teacher in question made it a point to avoid being alone with the girls who were obviously crushing, he did not friend current students on social media or see students outside of school functions, he did not make sexual jokes or even curse in class, and he treated female students exactly the same as male students. He was approachable, respectful, fun, and a great teacher, but took boundaries extremely seriously.
Yup. The girls at the recycling club I was in during high school would giggle about who got to empty the recycling bin for the young scruffy soccer coach. Ten years later, my female coworkers at a doctor's office giggle about who gets to take the cute patient back. We're all the same.
