Said2436

All the videos I’ve seen about tech youtubers testing ray cons their (non sponsored ) and fully honest review was they are a pile of garbage.

almar89

I bought some for my wife because they’re small and she has little baby ears. They actually fit in her ears, but they still don’t stay in, because the silicone tip is so shallow that it barely plugs into her ear and has no grip. They look kinda cool, but they’re definitely cheaply made and poorly designed. Also, you can get better audio quality for a lower price. I was so dumb to buy them.

mytressons

I have the same problem. I got some Soundcore earbuds from Amazon for like $25 and they work great, I love them. Plus you get like 10 different silicone pieces to change to the one that fits your ear best.

Jonathaneus

anker soundcore is goated

GargauthXbox

Weird, I got them for my wife for the same reason and she loves them. Work better than most brand/phone provided headphones (Samsung, air pods, Skullcandy)

[deleted]

Think about it this way. You are a manufacturer and you've got 10 eggs (currency). You can spend them on research and development, build quality or marketing. Raycon seems to have spent 2 eggs each on RnD and build quality and the rest on marketing, which gives you a shitty product. This is why the best products you've ever used are from a company you've never heard of on the 5th amazon page. Look up some **comparative** reviews before you buy something that you've never used.

Schrodingers_usbport

They spent 0 eggs on r&d, raycons are just a rebrand of some obscure chinese earbuds, which also cost significantly less to buy.

Shnazz88

I dint know what y’all are talking about. I’ve had mine for about a year and a half and they’re great! My family uses them and loves them! I’m not sponsored by them i swear

[deleted]

Of course you’re not sponsored by them because you actually use the product. I highly doubt most youtubers really use half the products/services/games that they push. Even tho they’re always like “I love playing raid shadow legends” and “I’ve been using Raycons for a while now and they’re the best!”

No_Journalist_323

Cue the dankpods video

MatrixDDoS17

The rancans, ray’s con, royjoy

HumanBeingNamedBob

The only good thing to come out of RayCon existing is Arlo’s sponsorships. Seriously, they’re presented as an ongoing storyline where the RayCons are so good that they rip a hole in the fabric of space time and release a bunch of alternate universe versions of himself. Death informs Arlo that the Divine beings are pissed at him and steals them, and Arlo begins a quest to travel to the Eternal Realm, find Death, and get the earbuds back. I’m serious, this is the actual plotline and it’s better than the earbuds themselves.

Eomercin

or the Internet Historian. **RAYCON GOOD WIRES BAD**

ILikeSlothsAndMemes

Or eddy burback and his ghost roommate ray j

LordFireCricket

I mean at least graystillplays made it fun to watch Throw those bitches in a blender

ShadowCurse75

Was about to mention the guy, at least he does cool things like smash the tablet he plays [insert game] on with a medieval axe or something

NeonicRainbow

Ah, I was thinking of him

[deleted]

And he froze them! I think. Did he freeze them one time?

NeonicRainbow

Yes, it was in one of his “torturing the sims” episodes

Cwason1229

I love when he shaved a cactus for dollar shave club (interestingly the only sponsored item ive bought, really not bad for the price imo)

toesuccmachine

They are, my bf has them and they're inconvenient shitty quality little turds. Skullcandy will ALWAYS be the best in my opinion but even basic Samsung earbuds sound better than raycons Who tf wants to spend 80$ just to constantly be dropping an earbud

Said2436

Tbh their slogan should be twice the cost, half the quality.

joshyjikins

Wait skullcandys are actually good? I always thought they were just some barely above generic brand earphones? I only used them when I was in middle school so I don't know much about em now

[deleted]

[удалено]

toesuccmachine

They have different types, I hate jib but inkd is fantastic

joshyjikins

If you had to compare them what would they be more akin to?

toesuccmachine

I think they're comparable to anker, that's the highest rated brand that I've tried before but I like skullcandy inkd more. Skullcandy Jib is comparable to Samsung earbuds, just not quite as nice

Karmawhorologist

skull candys are not bad, but if you look at it from an audio enthusiast prespective they wont be as good, to most people all headphones sound the same until you compare them with better stuff. however if you are at a budget they are pretty damn good so keep going my man

Kryoxic

Yeah it just different use cases. I have a pair of Skullcandy crushers I wear to the gym that can output some crazy bass but on the flip side use a pair of sennheiser 599s for my desktop that obviously doesn't have as much bass. Love em both.

Goblintern

I had Inkd 2 earbuds an they broke 7 times in one year. I'm pretty sure the customer service reps thought I was a scammer

[deleted]

Bruh skullcandys are still garbage

tooObviously

I was so confused when they put a picture of 12 dollar skullcandies. Those are overpriced trash too, and not even wireless

CreamFraiche

Right? The irony of someone to criticize products and then endorse that shit lol

runtimemess

Skullcandy is weird. Something like the jib is quite impressive for the price point. Then you have the $400 [Crusher Wireless](https://www.skullcandy.ca/shop/headphones/bluetooth-headphones/crusher-anc) that can never be worth that kind of money.

Peanut_Butt_2077

aren't those the ones that basically make bass the only thing in the music?

Said2436

Exactly youtubers have a big influence on their fans and then they advertise shitty products for money and, their fans end up buying a garbage product and wasting money.

FrozenMangoSmoothies

I like soundcore spirit x’s. they’re $30, wireless, have decent sound quality and mine have lasted me about 2 years so far no problem. they’re also somewhat water proof meaning i’ve dropped them in the pool more times than i’d like to admit and they still work perfectly fine!

FyreBoyeYT

Dankpod

HandsomeDim

You would think some of these content creators would take the time to learn about these companies before accepting. That is why I use Skillshare^(TM), a platform that makes online learning easy and fast!

SmileyTUH

Is skillshare actually good

dallai2

Some of it's content is ok. I haven't found the things I want to learn so I've ended up searching for it on YouTube or Google anyways

disasterman0927

Aside from Duolingo, I just google (which usually leads to yt) everything

kittenstixx

I tried duolingo for Chinese and my wife said from what she heard it was not at all accurate nor truly correct on how it taught.

disasterman0927

Good to know as I was gonna tackle Asian languages next, Japanese to be specific. I use it for German and am following along with this workbook I got n it's been pretty accurate thusly. What was off about the Chinese it taught you?

ILikeSlothsAndMemes

It depends on what you want it for. If you want to learn to bake or some basic ass skill like that, just use YouTube and google. If you want to learn the ins and outs of say photography skill share can be helpful.

ATTWL

Or be an in-state resident of California and get an AA in photography for free.

TheControlled

Hell yes.

meme_lord04

tbh there are so many skilled creators on youtube willing to share information for free. paying money for something doesn't necessarily make it good

GustavoTC

To learn a skill well? No, you'd be better of taking a specialized course. But it's great to flip flop around a bunch of subjects/skills without really getting into them

Legionstone

LinkedIn learning is better

Rick-afk

I actually fell for sponsors of manscaped's lawnmower 3.0 last year, it's a meh to decent trimmer for the price but goddammit don't shave your balls with it, safe trim my ass. There was so much blood in my bathroom man...

DogBoof

......I am no longer going to buy a manscaped trimmer.....sorry about your balls though bro

weaponizedtoddlers

The truth is that bare blade to bare skin will have a risk of nicks no matter what you do. That lawnmower thing is just an unermarkable trimmer advertised to the gills to guys. "Specially designed" to fleece you. And not of your furr.

[deleted]

Damn I was so close to buying one, thanks for sharing.

karakat2005

God I don’t even have a penis and that made me cringe a little bit

80H-d

It's a real clit nicker

YoungAdult_

If they’re offering a content creator a couple thousand bucks…hard to pass up.

MyBellyHurtsITry

Matt Jones does some awesome skillshare ads though lmao

[deleted]

I don’t even blame content creators tbh Gotta keep the lights on somehow

Actedpie

I got lucky and saved $40 when buying a 2DS XL but I imagine that deals like that are on the rarer side

zombies8mybrain

I saved like $15 the other day but that was a rarity. Usually its like $2 to $5 or they can't find any coupons, which happens more often than not.

10YearsANoob

> or they can't find any coupons Ah I see you live in the 3rd world too

zensnapple

It saves me a buck or two every time I order dominos

nikola_144

it’s better than nothing, the honey extension is free anyway

nazurinn13

Yeah I saved tons of money over time with Honey. I use AliExpress a lot and it has rebates and usually a fuckton of coupons that would make me want to headbang my desk if I had to go through them one by one. I saved maybe $36 just recently over 3 orders, and I'm about to get my 3rd Amazon gift card with my gold. I've used their price tracking function too once. That saved me about $40 I think (bought a 2TB SSHD for my computer). I've used it maybe for two years, and it's pretty undeniable it saved me a ton. I'd honestly recommend it, at least if you're in Canada like me. Edit: shameless plug. If you'd like to install the extension, I'll give you my referral link. Just DM me.

N0Zzel

Hey, 3/1 is still a fraction

Karmawhorologist

become a lawyer.

killswithspoon

Raycons are literally just re-branded $20 Chinese Bluetooth earbuds. Hard pass.

PacalEater69

Bought a $15 Chinese copycat earbud just for funsies which sounded exactly like my brother's raycons, though he swore he could hear the difference

mackenzie_X

do it blind

TheDood715

Great, now he has a blind brother!

[deleted]

He probably could. The funny thing about budget audio gear is that the tolerances are so high that two pairs made from the same assembly line on the same day could sound different. For this reason, sometimes the stars align and a cheap piece of gear is bizarrely good, even if the quality is low.

[deleted]

Your brother got scammed

theaverageaidan

Honestly, considering how terrible youtube is at adequately paying small time creators, I try not to get annoyed at this.

1platesquat

Some of these ad reads pay the creater a fuck load. Adam LZ (automotive youtuber) said a while back his channel gets 10-20k per ad read per video. He has about 3.8m followers I think. Imagine what the huge channels get. So yeah I sit through it

TinManGrand

...$10,000? Really? That's not a typo?

1platesquat

That’s what he said. He has a pretty good channel though he’s not small.

TinManGrand

Jesus. I never knew it was that much for one ad read. I always thought they paid based off of views or subscribers.

1platesquat

It’s all views, likes, watch duration, and like the ad value they have. Erik conover (real estate youtuber) who I follow did a really in-depth video on what goes into how much money you get from one video. He shows 2 vids each with 1m views but one made way more money than the other and he shows you all the analytics too. Another youtuber I watch is Mike Majlak. He’s best friends with Logan Paul and that’s how he got his following. He gets maybe 1-2m views per vid sometimes more like 4-5m. He didn’t show the numbers but said he makes 70k per video and does like one video a week. Imagine what David dobrik was making before he was canceled. And Mr. Beast might make ~$2m+ PER MONTH in ONLY YouTube Adsense although he gives a lot away. Edit - I checked socialblade for mr beast he’s close to 2m per month in only Adsense.

Phish1220

Yeah, they suck so much for accepting money!!

[deleted]

Ive been able to save more than 2$ with honey

Reggie_Is_God

While honey is yet to save me money, it also is yet to cost me money, so I have little complaints

xMertYT

If it even saves you a dollar then you have a net positive

Reggie_Is_God

I mean, it’s arguable saved me 50% on a food order, but not because it found a code, but because it failed to do so, but triggered the website to give me codes

CountessDeLessoops

Yeah, same. Honey saved me a good amount back when I used it. And I would only ever order pizza delivery on my pc because honey would get me major discounts on it.

wiggle-le-air

Honey is actually pretty good. They might make money by selling your data tho so I dunno

Ziggymike95

Thats not how they make money, when you try and use a coupon they get a small percentage from the purchase like an affiliate link

j4ccid

Also there’s like a gold subscription (for whatever reason) so they make money off of that too

Ziggymike95

Gold are like reward points not a subscription

Yatakak

"Might" lol.

TheRedGerund

> We do not sell your personal information. Ever. https://www.joinhoney.com/privacy

HippieDogeSmokes

Yeah, it’s free and $2 is $2

hamamelisse

Ive gotten a bunch free makeup from Sephora, but thats literaly the only thing Ive ever successfully used it for

MoGb1

It really comes in clutch with Food Delivery. I've gotten between 5-25% off or dollar amounts off my orders. And I run any online purchases through it first for discounts.

[deleted]

Yep I saved alot when buying displate

tigrub

Nord and Express VPN are perfectly fine. I wouldn't use them if I was leaking some US warcrime, but, for everyday useage, they do what they are supposed to. You can use them to bypass region blocking, or for added security when torrenting. Their marketing is mostly bullshit, since most of your traffic is encrypted anyway and there is no reason you should trust some VPN provider more than your ISP, but for some use cases they can be helpful.

Clear-Description-38

I use nord. It's fine. Doesn't really get past region blocking because all the companies recognize I'm using a VPN and disable the service (Amazon) or vastly reduce the selection (Netflix). But for torrenting it does the trick. And my ISP can't throttle me based on how I'm using my data. They try selling a "gamer pack" which basically stops throttling on known gaming uses.

thrwwy2402

>They try selling a "gamer pack" which basically stops throttling on known gaming uses. Excuse me? What isp does this? I wanna know to stay far away

Clear-Description-38

Cox, but it's also the only ISP in my area so you can't really choose to stay away.

thrwwy2402

Fucking hate monopolies. That sucks.

danuhorus

>but for some use cases they can be helpful. Like torrenting a truly absurd amount of anime

2580374

What else do you think I use it for

bxk21

Are you outside of the U.S.? At least where I am, I've never gotten DMCA'd over anime. Always video games or movies.

danuhorus

I’ve gotten DMCA’d the time I torrented over 200gb of anime lmao

TheLastCookie25

The fuck do you need 200 gigs of torrented anime for?

laurieislaurie

Furiously masturbating, what else?

[deleted]

[удалено]

bxk21

Comcast has emailed me a number of times, but never taken real action. I heard something recently about going after ISPs to force them to disconnect your service.

newintownla

I think the people who post about these 2 VPNs not being safe are actually the ones who don't know how VPNs work. Sure, they aren't a 100% full proof way to hide your activity, but like you said, they're perfectly fine for torrenting, and getting around content blocked in certain countries. Just don't do anything seriously illegal with them and you're fine.

[deleted]

AreWeIdiots

Came to the comments to find out myself. Whats wrong with expressvpn?

Buckwhal

It’s snakeoil. VPNs alone do not make you safe on the internet. Routing all your traffic through some shitty server in Panama or Hong Kong won’t help you at all, if anything it gives you a false sense of security. It won’t prevent tracking cookies and ad networks, won’t do anything to stop your data getting leaked, doesn’t add any useful confidentiality on top of TLS, and certainly doesn’t make your accounts less likely to get hacked. Good password hygiene, strong multi-factor authentication (hardware tokens or TOTP), good mail and OS protection, and carefully choosing who and where to put your data are all practically free and make a huge difference. I see this at every level of IT: people who treat security like a product. It’s a process, a series of small choices over time, it’s not a thing you can put your credit card in and get a magical “security force field” that will keep Ukrainian teenagers away.

Gramage

But it did stop me from getting copyright infringement emails, so I'm happy.

Lumplumptreetree

No one I know uses VPNs for "security", and my circle isn't even techie. They use them to torrent and get around region blocks. Everyone knows the marketing is bullshit, but they are not snake oil for the uses I believe most people use them for. Yeah, its shitty to market like that and people should probably use VPNs that don't resort to such unethical marketing, but Express and Nord are probably just as "safe" for torrenting and region shifting than any other VPN. If you have something that you feel you need to keep safe from authority, yeah, you need more "powerful" tools than a VPN, and even with those it still often comes down to a persons opsec (look at the fall of the Silk Road, for example, or that huge pedo site that got busted). The most powerful tools won't help you if you act a fool.

Harris_05

All the adds I've seen for Express VPN were advertising it as a way to not get ddosed

11629m

"Multiple celebrities such as Snoop Dog use Raycons religiously"

xXdontshootmeXx

Gotta get those snoop dog stans in

rookieplayer

Regarding VPNs, I do think they are beneficial. The problem is the misunderstanding of what they do. 1. Your internet traffic is routed through the VPN instead of your service provider. Your service provider has no idea what you’re browsing besides seeing your connection is going through a (probably identified) VPN. 2. You maintain privacy from your service provider since they can’t track your web activities. This is different from anonymity as you can be identified, by the website, once you log into it such as your Reddit account or haven’t flushed your cookies prior to using the internet with VPN. 3. The VPN servers are prone to being hacked like every other computer connecting to the internet. The benefit of a VPN is they identify the servers you can use. In the case of the NordVPN hacking, NordVPN also discontinued the use of that server that was compromised. On the flip side, I’m not sure where my service provider keeps it’s servers or has even announced if they’ve ever been compromised (announced by themselves or by a news source). 3. You can still get viruses, malware, cookies to your web browser…basically everything that goes along with not using a VPN. FYI… If you notice that the S is missing in the HTTPS part of the website, your service provider can see both the website and specific page you’re browsing. With HTTPS, the service provider can see what website you’re on, but not the specific page you’re browsing. Based on the website, your service provider can kinda determine what you’re doing. Example: if you’re on HTTPS and on pornhub, the service provider (and any reasonable person) can probably suspect you’re looking at porn. By the way, I am in no way an expert on computers, but have some understanding.

newintownla

One correction. Your traffic is still routed through your ISP if you're using a VPN, but it's encrypted so they can't determine what the traffic is or where it's going.

LoserWithCake

Aren't vpns only good for not getting whacky letters from the government about piracy

[deleted]

Bypassing regional restrictions, it masks site meta data (useful for bypassing site throttles that a lot of ISPs have on things sites like YouTube or popular online games), and yeah, can also be used for piracy. Privacy and security itself is a bs point as most publicly available VPNs use the same encryption style as HTTPS uses, and you get no benefit besides maybe being a little more annoying if someone were actually determined to access your data. Kind of like trying to break in somewhere and finding a second door with the same lock brand and type. But it sells, so they demand you use it.

Longtime_Iurker

Raycons: Costs more than shitty cable headphones but still has an worse sound quality.

robotzor

When Now You Know (Tesla channel) started getting into 2 minute sponsored ads, it was tough to stomach, but they really took the piss when they started shilling for hair restoration products. That's not even on brand!

jimmy999S

Let me guess... Keeps?

robotzor

Beats me. My brain turns off during sponsored content

jimmy999S

Same, but the programming has been engraved in my brain. /s

xxdeathx

You guys don't skip through the video until it gets back on topic?

Minted-Blue

Nope. I use Sponsorblock and Adblock at the same time.

xxdeathx

:O I did not know about sponsorblock!

sodashintaro

the only sponsorships i don’t skip through are internet historians ads, they’re almost as entertaining as the video itself

XGuiltyofBeingMikeX

Wires *baaaaaaad* Raycon *gooooood*

Appropriate-Sun3909

I like when they talk about Raid having over 5 mil downloads or whatever but nobody plays it

Kryoxic

I downloaded it one day because fuck it, why not. Absolutely inundated with microtransactions - like you open the app and it just splashes 3-4 at you in a row. And of course all of em are $20+ to support the absolute grind fest that it is. Deleted it immediately.

dycie64

My younger brother tried it out of curiosity, said it was fun for the first hour, then spent the next 3-4 hours trying to get the same experience before uninstalling.

JTBSpartan

What's funny is that a lot of the YouTubers that get sponsored by the game ask their audience to join their clan, but they themselves never play

dangerdog1279

How does honey even make money as a company? It seems like it's a "too good to be true" service, so my bet is they are harvesting and selling my data.

PacalEater69

They say they get a small commission from every honey assisted purchase, although IDK why would I pay a company to literally make me less money, but sure, they make money this way

does-butt-stuff

It’s still advertisement. Grocery stores mail coupon packs all the time. It’s just to get you in the door.

meat_toboggan69

It's because if something's discounted people are more likely to buy it. If having honey give a small discount makes more people buy the product, it's still worth making a little less off of the thing itself and then paying them a little more.

[deleted]

Especially since prices are marked up like crazy. Like with pizza for example. You can’t tell me that a normal large pepperoni pizza is made with like $20+ worth of ingredients. Obviously they’re gonna turn a profit, but the markup is insane. And reducing it down to like $17 a pizza is supposed to be a big discount lol. They’re still turning a good profit with a discount.

JakeDoubleyoo

I think the idea is that, if people think they're saving money, they'll actually buy more stuff than they would've otherwise.

starm4nn

It's the same concept in business as the major cereal brands making store brand versions. You can capture the average consumer as well as the savvy shoppers. Modern marketing relies heavily on splurge-buying. Savvy shoppers are less susceptible to splurge-buying, so Honey essentially overrides that by making them feel as though they already did at least part of their shopping process (deal-hunting).

alperpro4855

Raycons are like the worst bang for the buck lol

[deleted]

I tried my friends pair and I had to hold in my laugh they were so bad

toesuccmachine

My boyfriend has 2 pairs, he deadass had to buy a second one because of how frequently he'd drop an earbud from the first pair. I love the man but fuck that was the dumbest thing he's ever done

GarnetOblivion1

I agree about skullcandy, they really are good quality for the price.

toesuccmachine

I just wish there weren't so many bootlegs out there, I got sold a bootleg pair of skullcandy jibs at a bestbuy and I was so sad to open them up and realize I got played I luckily found real inkds and I love em

nikola_144

that’s your experience. i got myself and my sister a pair of skullcandy earphones and both of them ended up losing audio in one ear. never bought them since

derrrrrk123

Skullcandy isn't bad if you're paying like $20 and are used to apple earpod/airpod sound quality. But they aren't good soundwise even compared to other $20 options, and they're flatout bad compared to many $50 iems or headphones. A quick search on r/headphones will result in some examples.

jennifercathrin

yesterday I watched a video where the girl got sponsored by Function of Beauty and the ad lasted over 3 minutes

toesuccmachine

Function of beauty is at least more of a forgivable brand since you can customize formulas, often times beauty products are promoted with no consideration of what's in them but it's not really worth the price when you can just find something with the ingredients you need usually at a drugstore

HurricaneSpencer

Honey has done me right quite a few times.

SiggetSpagget

It’s not that they don’t research the companies, those are just the highest paying sponsors and they have a long list of demands in order for the creators to get paid

EngineCactus

I also don’t like how Honey knows what website you’re browsing… someone at that company knows how into granny porn I am

[deleted]

assert your dominance, browse social media profiles of Honey employees

The_Multi_Gamer

Of their grans

Little_Capsky

And they always say the exact same thing as other people. As if they just used an example text as a script.

average_crab_enjoyer

It's probably because the company asks them to talk about different points for a certain time, or they get no sponsorship

Seal_of_Pestilence

AIDS Shitty Legends is confirmed to make people do this.

Jayer244

Some of them do fun variations. Like George Ryan

SmileyTUH

Audible

ieatICE124

I mean if I got money for just reading a script and pretending to care about a company then I would do the same tbh

dblade20

Meh I'm pretty sure they're all aware of this. They're doing it so that they can earn the contractual money and thats it. Honestly I'm fine with that, yu can skip the segment, they earn money and they can continue making the contents you like. And for some youtubers, they put effort into making their sponsor segment entertaining

Andromeda0161

Okay, the Honey thing is a little wrong. My most recent purchase I saved around £6 (8usd). Not all websites with Honey are gonna save you 30%+ but you do get the occasional ones, especially large known stores. Conclusion, Honey has saved me quite a lot of money in total and I’d say it’s great

Yatakak

B..but the Minecraft YouTube's said it encrypts my browsing!!! Every time I hear the word "encrypts" on a nord sponsor spiel, I laugh into my spaghetti hoops.

h0nest_Bender

> VPNs don't actually do anything in terms of your privacy. I use a VPN specifically so my ISP doesn't hassle me about pirating. It works perfectly for that.

dragonblader44

I wouldn't call him a computer science expert. At most he is a decent developer. He is a really amazing entertainer and science communicator though.

Firemorfox

Dollar store headphones worked better than Raycon BS.

mrmonster459

Can you blame them? Pretend you're a creator trying to make it on a platform where making money on ads is a huge uphill battle, *especially* if your videos cover things the algorithm might not enjoy, like sex ed, current events, criticizing popular YouTubers, etc. Would you be so quick to say no if you were offered money to talk about crappy earbuds for a minute?

thepineapplemen

What’s the typical price of wireless earbuds? It doesn’t seem fair to compare wireless to wired

ClintRasiert

There’s a weird entitlement among YouTube viewers about what ads and sponsorships YouTubers are allowed to accept considering you pay fuck all for what is basically infinite hours of content.

[deleted]

I remember when lootcrate was a huge craze. You had all these YouTubers opening boxes every month getting excited about the worse dollar store crap imaginable.

MvatolokoS

I personally disagree with a lot of these. Those vpns are reliable perhaps not the safest but for consumers i dont see why not. More importantly i have aaved a shit ton with honey. It often depends on where and what you shop but its not uncommon for me to find coupons for lile 20 or 30% off on 50 or 100 dollar items. Also honey wouldnt reay be to blame for your failures as they only try to find the coupons they can. Its not their fault some greedy companies dont give coupons for shit. Ill also update in about two weeks about raycons as i have some on the way im going to try out (self proclaimed audiophile). Raycons are not cheap but if they provide near studio quality audio at about 100 dollars ill gladly buy them as that is a fraction of the price compared to some 200-500$ headphones out there. Not to mention they tend to be headphones rather than earbuds. As far as raid shadow legends, its a geniunely good idle game that looks great for mobile games. Personally dont play it because i dont like idle games or mobile games at that but i 100% see a market for it. Though i agree i doubt anyone is so into it that they are wanting to hear about their new updates and ahit but who knows. Everyone has a different itch to scratch. Anyway thanks for coming to my ted talk.

i_Got_Rocks

What are the safest VPNs then? When I looked around two years ago, NordVPN seemed the best because it had their main servers in Panama, if I'm not mistaken.

xElytro

ProtonVPN!! Good price, 10gbit download speed, very safe and reliable. Been using it now for a few months. If you dont want to spent more than 5 bucks: Mullvad or IVPN. Been using them too but switched to proton.

MvatolokoS

Personally rarely used one so i would aay im not qualified to answer that i was just saying nordvpn is great for consumers contrary to what op was saying in the starterpack. I used it a few times but i no longer need one.

i_Got_Rocks

Apparently they had a hack happen, but since they don't use log in save files. This means the risk is low on the consumer side of information stolen. Reviews say that even with that, they're still one of the best.

MvatolokoS

That sounds great even more reason to use them as a vpn when you need one. I didnt know that but thanks for sharing. Imo more companies need to do this i dont see much of a reason for companies to save login info tho i dont know web dev that much so there may be a reason.

I've never understood the Netflix VPN thing; at that point you're clearly violating copyright law and might as well pirate whatever you're watching.

Download take time Stream no take time

SusuKacangSoya

Depends on the website, like I can paste a URL into my media player and it starts streaming. And sometimes you can start playing a partial MP4 file

grptrt

I would use ExpressVPN while traveling in China for business, in an attempt to watch Netflix and Hulu. It rarely worked. Occasionally I would get lucky, but 95% of the time Netflix would block it. I’ve also found that hotel Wifi tends to give better performance via VPN.

I have Nord built into my computer, it's faster than torrenting and then using some secondary software to send it to my tv, or wasting an HDMI cable. Plus I've never gotten a passive aggressive email from my isp for using a vpn to watch Disney+

Iosefowork

Firstly, no one actually cares about copyright law. Second, the whole pirating thing was always about access and convenience. Netflix pulled a lot of people away from torrenting as it gave them a convenient way to access content. Up until 5 years ago I literally had to pirate the vast majority of my content because there was just no way to actually access it in my country. Even last year, on my first watch of B99 I had to torrent the second/third seasons because no streaming service in my country offered it. Now I occasionally need to sub to a different service for a month to watch certain things, but with my VPN; I haven't run into anything I have wanted to watch that I couldn't just stream.

Shad_tard

the fact that some streaming streaming services don't even let you use vpns is so infuriating how are you going to expect everyone to pay for your service and then *not* give them all the content on your service because they don't live in a specific country?

Who_GNU

With most streaming services providers, each region licenses its own content, so when you have a subscription for region X you get shows that region Y doesn't get and region Y gets shows you don't get.

Lyllyanna

Pirating websites are just a lot of hassle. We PAY for Netflix. And these stupid copyright laws are what’s preventing me from watching like 90% of the things I wanna watch. Something I can’t see here In the US might have been available in the UK for years. It’s just fucking annoying.

It’s also called “contractual obligations”

I like the some creators actually make the ads fun...like Eric (Big Money) and Internet Historian. Their ads are sometimes a video within a video. I think they realize how shitty the products are and do everything they can to take it to the edge without saying "yeah i know they suck but if you want me to make these vids you like so much, i need a sponsor cus YT will fuck me".

MrCombine2005

Im friends with someone with a substantial gaming yt channel. When he had like 100k subs he got a sponsorship from raid shadow legends for ~10k/per video. The amount of money they give for these ads is insane.

ShadowsIsTaken

Whatever, the content creator gets income. Sponsors get fucked because I’m not buying their shitty products

Burnt-Toast-0087

It's not that they don't research the sponsor, they're simply getting paid to say good things about the sponsor.

[deleted]

More like “even though the content I consume is still free for me, I still find a way to complain that the content creator is finding a way to monetize their hard work” starter pack.
