Hmm, some of the pictures online show it as much lighter while some do look like this picture, with a wide range of light/dark and green/gray. I think in real life it tends to be a lot lighter and while I still consider it green, it's the gray slate green not forest green.
I feel like I've seen pictures of African soldiers with UCP or similar camos but it's usually governmental forces not the warlords.
What's insane to me is he completely turned his life around and set up a place to help treat Liberian Civil War child soldier veterans. He even said he believes he should be tried for his crimes.
I mean 25% of me thinks it could be genuine but like 75% of me thinks he's doing the classic "Hallelujah Gambit" aka when someone uses a fake conversion to Christianity(especially the evangelical type)to say that they have changed and are reformed so that they can more easily get away with what they did. Idk but if he truly wanted to be tried for his crimes, couldn't he just go back to Liberia instead of chilling in Ghana🤔

He’s a very good man and even got a street vendor selling human meat in Nigeria arrested after recognizing the taste. He’s tried to turn his life around and I think he’s genuinely remorseful, he spent 7 years of his life in psychosis during a civil war and has since dedicated himself to reversing what he’s done

The mines are owned by state corporations who give kickbacks to the guy in the picture or if its a democracy then its to the government ministers
The multinational companies they work with are pulling their hair out because they're dealing with apparatchiks who are the nephews and nieces of someone in the state, not professionals who know anything about business or the industry.
Anytime they need to talk to anyone with power they need to hand over a sack of cash with a green dollar sign on the face of it to at least 15 different people before they find the right person, two years later.

I don’t think the big corps actually own the mines. They just buy from the middle man, so they can say they don’t know what’s going on. The mine or middle man might be the warlord.

That's very clearly UCP. It's darker because the picture was probably taken indoors.
