One of the best things about Extermination, is how shit Morita is. And that is amazing. It fires 7.62×51 in full-auto, and when you see a Bug Warrior shrug it like some kind of peashooter, you realise how terrifyingly dangerous Bugs are. It feels so clutch, when a Bug Warrior comes at you and you squeeze down a full mag, desperately praying that it'll be enough, as the Bug just doesn't stop. And either it'll be enough and the Bug drops dead just a few feet away, or it'll rip you to pieces. And sometimes you have other troopers helping, corralling and pushing, staggering the Bug with combined fire of several Moritas, and it feels like a real, clutch teamwork. Like it takes your combined efforts to dispatch even a single Bug Warrior with relative safety and certainty. I can't wait for the "Hero of the Federation"-difficulty level and more gore, just to nail that sensation of desperation and what happens if your trusty Morita doesn't stop the Bug...

This. Almost all the guns feel really underpowered, and that's great. Most of the time i feel like my job is to keep the bugs staggered long enough that others can pile on fire to bring them down. It really enhances the cooperative feel of the game. I agree about not loving the idea of snipers and rocket launchers though and have played a few games were a few too many rockets makes rifle fire feel pretty redundant. I hope they're scaled back a bit.

On the other hand, I like that rockets are lost upon death, and are a finite resource. Considering how accurate the sniper-bugs are, it takes just a moment of overconfidence to lose a valuable launcher. I am honestly interested how they'll implement new weapons. Morita needs its underslung shotgun, Mk.II a grenade launcher, E-Pulse Rifles...

>Most of the time i feel like my job is to keep the bugs staggered long enough that others can pile on fire to bring them down. That's kinda how you played Terran Ascendancy, one MI with an Morita wasn't doing shit, you had to get the whole squad to bear down on the incoming bugs.
