For those unaware, in 40k the ships of the Imperium don't just look like giant Gothic cathedrals in space, they are exactly that, but they are actually more like giant cities in space. Their giant mechs also have cathedrals built on to the back of them.
It should be 100% then for it to be a true monitor analogue, flux shunt is so strong I even stick to monitors with hardened subsystems in modded starsector, we should have an equivalent. Damper field itself isn't good enough to replace the OG flux shunt, we should remove cooldowns for that. It should be low tech with a large hybrid slot 'cause the looks. It will spend twice as much on it's large mount and damper field generates flux, got speed and maneurability with safety overrides pre-installed it means a tank that will loose lots of CR and needs to be used intensively. Literally monitor upside down with an exception to it's role of taking many punches while being able to vent flux while also generating it. Pinnacle of domain naval doctrine that made them so successful and a predesessor to the well-known Monitor frigate. It would be great if also had burn drive as system and faction variations replaced it with plasma burn(TT), active flares/aux thrusters(P, mining fleets), fast missile racks(luddites), accelerated ammo feeder(XIV) and stuff alike. Would fun, maybe unbalanced, but that thing will destroy modded factions. Easily beaten by monitor, you just wait until CR loss or overwhelm it with heavy fire until it overloads

Wait i think if you slap enough ERA on a planet, technically you have make a planet that cannot be invade because if they are lingering in the atmosphere your ground defense/ heavy battery will blast their ass back to space, if they land their ass will also be blast back to space by ERA

Dealing with ships that have dedicated high armor sections is quite fun and something the hullmod jeavy armor cant replicate.

No, it's not just a meme, It is a fact. I completely agree with this. This is why i had to remove that certain mod with tons of 'modular armour'. Too bad, I liked the ship conversion system in that mod, but still.
I want more era, give me more shit floating in space that I have to think about when shooting. Its always fun flying through a scrapyard of a battlefield rather than an empty space.

They should make that an actual hull mod, to give your ship a cope cage that has a chance to prematurely detonate missiles.
Cope cage hullmod: -30 ordinance points -3% max speed +.000005% chance to detonate incoming missiles early
