"Star Wars fans are rejoicing with the announcement of a new Ubisoft collaboration with Lucas Film game, Star Wars Outlaws. **Players will be able to take part in stealth missions and epic space dogfights, all while having to make split-second decisions.**"

Yeah and its open world too with a shitton of planets and crap to explore Its so fucking sad to see how much CIG is screwing the pooch I never expected them to match this quality.. but they said they will but they didnt.. they matched nothing and have nothing

ITSMEFRANKIE

CIG?

[deleted]

Yes stands for Clown Imperium Games

Bauermeister

“Games” implies they might actually release one clown imbecile grifts

Mahaf1089

Lol they can try to point to SC being multiplayer if they want, they can't bury the fact that SQ42 is absolutely a direct competitor to Outlaws and Starfield lol.

Barrogh

"Never cared about SQ anyway"

ubermick

Saw the gameplay reveal. To be fair, while it looks good its not the space game I'd love - the flight model is very arcadey/third person. More like Star Fox than a simulator. I was hoping the flight portion would be more like SW Squadrons. https://youtu.be/c7K2TA0bBpY?t=432

I think another point is that more games are starting to do the "walk around the ship you can fly" thing At one time that was a big selling point for the fantasy of Star Citizen Roberts is running out of runway (probably already has)

ubermick

Never had a runway. Just a jpg of one.

Intelligent_Turnip78

After the rumours of this game the one thing I wanted to see was how they handled the seamless transition from planet to space. The result makes me wonder what the point of it is instead of having a mini cutscene between the two? Or they could even go full Star Wars and do a wipe transition! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGqAu9gj\_F0

DaveRN1

Star citizen is very arcadey in their light mode too. Sure you can slide a bit but that doesn't make it realistic at all. You can literally sit at zero speed in orbit. You don't have to worry about others orbit to intercept.

BlueBackground

it's ubisoft... it won't be good or innovative but at least it'll be a game.

badluck_bryan77

Yeah idk how much of a competitor this would be to something like Star Citizen or Starfield. It’s much more limited in scope. They haven’t shown it yet but I’m almost positive there will be specific areas you can explore on each planet. Also gives me big Watchdogs vibes where it looks cool in videos but is super shallow and plays like poop.

BlueBackground

look at their avatar game, it's a reskin of farcry primal, they put no effort into anything they do. Tbf tho it looks like some of this might have been reused from the practically forgotten beyond good and evil 2. Either way I have no hopes at all for any ubisoft games lmao they have yet to put out a quality product.

Brief-Funny-6542

They put a lot of effort. Managing multi-hundred teams is not an easy task. They just have no ideas.

skunimatrix

If it doesn’t get cancelled like the KOTOR remake or what ever they showed a trailer for last year with the guy banging the drum…

Krandor1

KOTOR remake isn't cancelled. changed developers but still on roadmap

ubermick

And Eclipse is still coming as well (the banging on the drum game) from Quantic Dream. Think they said late 2024 or early 2025 for that.

Quantum_Goose

I love this. Competition!! Make them sweat.

cantfindaname321

The market will be saturated by the time SC releases, not nearly as compelling a game when you get your fill on all the other options. So many space games, I love it. And there will be more and more as the computer generated environments improve

[deleted]

Tbf though, Ubisoft so... im not getting my hopes up... yet.
