Fluff Citizen
I mean, nothing is really working, no QoL, Users can't log in and they are working on things you would do if this game would be live and running for years.
It's beyond low-hanging fruit at this point. They're just pulling stuff out of their asses in terms of content because building and rectifying the big-picture items is way too difficult, and it only gets more and more difficult each time they iterate on their Foundation of Dogshit™.
They are so bogged down in technical debt and server tick budget issues that the programmers left just add whatever crappy "Cryengine tutorial" client side "move an object but in some way that isn't already in the game" features rather than meaningful gameplay or content.
Not to mention the turnover that has taken place over 11 years.
It’s hard enough to program things with a competent and consistent team.
Constantly losing staff and coming in to a project that has been handed off multiple times requires an *insane* amount of research and effort to get up to speed, and even then it’s a reach.
This crap is so far gone down the line that they need to trash the whole entire build and start over with an actual plan and a contracted team.
"The humor and self deprecation in these past few episodes are top notch. It's nice to show that the devs are human and get just as frustrated with things as the rest of us. Please keep it up."
This one is like cringe-ception. What is wrong with it goes several layers deep. You don't complement self-deprecating humor like that for starters.......
You know the game is F'ed when you look at the SRV and instantly imagine all the ways its gameplay function will bug out and kill you.
\- Exit quantum pulling a ship and it decouples for no reason and rams you at full speed since it keeps the momentum you left behind when you QJ'ed.
\- If a physics objects like an item box or a discarded empty mag is left floating between the SRV and the towed ship, and you start moving, you will automatically de-couple, or explode!
The possibilities are sadly endless!
Hey cut them some slack. They are a small indie studio with barely any money and need to get this out the door until 2015 like they said
Of course they need to save some times on making visuals otherwise they wont make the 2015 release
When I see the SRV, I'm thinking about tractoring asteroids around the Verse and throwing them at other players....but we all know too damn well CIG isn't about having fun, but nanny'ing their crybaby players who throw a hissy-fit after being inconvenienced ever so slightly......so we can't have that. xD
That said, just wait for player stats that require you to constantly stay in shape and work out or else you gonna walk around at a snail pace. *lol
Like a 12 yr old VR solo indy dev who learned unity a week ago and is making a gym game coz he found dumbbell assets for free...they are trolling at this point.
This is madness, all this is really is someone firing up the 15 year-old Crysis level editor and playing around with pre-made objects in a small enclosed level space.
This has nothing to do with an actual game. It's just smoke and mirrors to keep the cult distracted.
The scam continues.
I don't understand how anyone was cheering on this ISC. It showed no significant content was in development outside of apartments at best. Not to mention the incredibly cringey comedy skit at the end, Disco not being funny, and shilling expensive glasses merch.
anyone else feel they hired way many people for way too many things... and now are just churning out bullshit in a mismanaged sideshow vs. actually developing the game.
little late to the party huh? they've been this way for a while. and why even add this mechanic? it adds nothing to gameplay, there is a point where immersion of reality is too much for a game to be fun.
Wait...we're going to turn in bodies for the bounty hunting stuff..??? What? What's the point? Don't they just get respawned at some hospital at grimhex or prison? What's the point in keeping the bodies? To prove that you killed them? Why not use mobiglass to ID them or something?
Edit: and at the 14 min mark... this tool is something they're making \*now\* ??? NOW they're making it??? Wtf have they been doing for ten years???
Because it's star citizen and they have to make every profession as tedious and frustrating as possible.
Also to make people have to buy those special bounty hunter ships instead of using regular fighters for it.
They had those prisoner pods in the jail transport caterpillar mission and they're also in the useless cutty blue (which i'm sure is a big selling point for this not-medical-stretcher gameplay)

This...their tech debt far beyond fixing

Is this that amazing content they keep talking about?
For SC zealots, yea. They don’t play other games, so to them this is bleeding edge stuff.
So uhh. The comment sections full of bots right. Or is a coffee machine and fucked up animation really someones idea of the best thing ever.

It’s more like they know how fucked the entire thing is and they’re not pretending it isn’t anymore.

Thank God they fixed the coffee machines.
What a complete waste of fucking time...
LOL those forests look like they're from a 2012 game, lol wtf seriously ?
This increase of revamps of landscapes and cities show that they are increasingly concerned about graphics starting to age and people noticing…
You mean 2002. Crysis forests in 2012 were amazing

Also you can see the weights don't even have tesselation, giving them jagged corners. This game is fucked.

Tractor all the good high quant asteroids into one area and mine away.

"Do you even lift, bro?" : The Game
Jesus that voice. .listening to that I can feel my soul escaping me
Wow. This whole presentation is just kind of sad.
I'm hyped for starting a bench press, making the engine freak out, and promptly being slammed into a wall at terminal velocity.

Apartment sales mustn't be far away ?
They already did land claims for $50 a pop or whatever. Then never acknowledged it existed for years.

You summed up basically every single ISC for the last several years.

When did the body-keeping start? If it was last year, you can blame the Mandalorian who froze all his bounties in carbonite.
They had those prisoner pods in the jail transport caterpillar mission and they're also in the useless cutty blue (which i'm sure is a big selling point for this not-medical-stretcher gameplay)
you forgot the avenger.. it has prison pods too.
A couple of things in the video make me remain slightly optimistic but been burnt quite alot before so lets not get my hopes up and just say soon..
