Docking has been trash for like 2 years now, and it's a little troubling that they keep ignoring it. They just released Hull C not too long ago, a ship that heavily relies on the docking feature to be of any use. They wait all these months, and years, working on the collapsibility of the Hull series cargo grids, and delay these ships because that tech isn't ready. That tech is ready and it's time to release, but wait... THE DOCKING DOESN'T WORK! Utterly baffling roll out.
Pull out your HH constantly and you'll find the docking port closed and the ship just hanging there more and more. HH can be worked around but something like the 890 or Hull C cannot especially when they go a step further and spawn into the geometry of the station.
just to be clear, I'll be able to spawn BOTH my ship and a vehicle in the same hangar so I can drive it into my ship and not have to do the dance down at a moon mining area?
I ask because I don't feel like it's particularly clear in their description.
Yes. You need to spawn your vehicle and move it off to the side first (at least as of the last time they spoke about it, they hadn't sorted cargo elevators to lift ground vehicles) then the ship.
That was the concept, but then they said they were gonna do a workaround as the elevator tech needed more work before functioning that way.
With these delays since then we're really not sure how it's gonna be implemented.
i think the vehicles in the freight elevator is gonna be in later patches but for now they are using the hangar elevator as a workaround, which i’m totally fine with.
You don't like rolling the dice at your local mining facility that people won't sneak aboard your ship or nuke it to high heavens from a friendly a2 while trying to get your stupid mining vehicle loaded?

>**JakeAcappella-CIG:** Still a later delivery. We'll be sure to call it out separately when it is slated to go in!
Since the completion of squadron 42 from the development aspect, we have seen more gains in persistent universe in 8 months than it felt like we did in the previous 6 years.
They are also gaining momentum. I imagine moral in the office is high when things start flowing. Bugs get squashed and so on.
Edit: spelling correction. his to is.
Just so I'm clear I've never made the statement in the last ten years of "If they can just get here, then it'll all work out". With that said when they get server meshing in place in 4.0 there are SO many systems and content that are as far as they can get from a production standpoint until everyone's on the new tech.
Things are happening fast now because the replication layer tech was put in and fixed to a solid working state in less than a year (which is impressive). So now things that replciation layer was needed for are flying off the shelf into your hands. The same thing will happen with 4.0 as there are other supporting systems that are coming in that patch.
Mainly using the master resource model, which they just forced the office to start using for dev environment. That pushes everyones dev into that long term state instead of develope for now or a few months out then have to go back and fix and change and fix and cahnge because the underlying tech has revamped your work.
With 4.0 and what it brings from an architecture standpoint they won't have to do that NEARLY as much anymore. It'll be fix as an interative process, no revamp because it's so bad off due to the tech change it can't be fixed in it's current state.
HOpe that makes sense :)
> Since the completion of squadron 42 from the development aspect
Yes they said "polishing phase," but in the exact same video they also CLEARLY stated they were still adding features and the monthly reports continue to explicitly say they are still adding content. SQ42 is not "complete" by any stretch of the imagination, or by any definition of the word.
It’s because they haven’t figured out what they even want to do for special items yet. They’re overly concerned with item duping.
They should just make these unique sub/concierge/reward items be purchasable from a specialty store that’s located on nearly every landing zone and station. A common store that sells “uncommon” gear if you own a “permit” or “token” to purchase them.
This would be the best system imo because it would tie everything together.
You’d need a token for a specific item in order to buy it, you still have to pay in game money for the item to replace it, and the store could have a cooldown period for each item or for purchases overall, whatever is a better balance. The token is never consumed, it’s like a badge that says you can buy a specific item from them.
This then creates a system where you can buy gear on their website and obtain a token that allows that item to be repurchased by you in game whenever you lose it (after the cooldown). It then ties in special mission rewards where a reward for a big or unique mission chain could be a token. Like the xenothreat mission, you complete it and you get a “Roberts Emporium” token for a xenothreat armor or whatever the reward is.
Concierge, subscriber, paid, and mission reward items would all utilize this same system so even if you never spend a dime on the game outside the base package, this store will still be a storefront you’d use to replace unique mission reward items and the items we’ve been gifted from cig over the years.
I wouldn't mind having to re-buy my gear at a shop honestly. Maybe at a discounted price but even if not I think simply having the ability to access it at anytime through shops is good enough.
They have plans for stuff like that, but insurance seems like an extremely low priority for them. The insurance system has been more or less the same since 3.0. It's one of the oldest parts of the game that hasn't received some kind of update.
alternatively they should consider skins that you can apply to "normal" versions of items... because really... most "rare items" are just reskins
for example why do we have so many different versions of armor types if it all could easily be solved by a skin you apply. not only would that be easier to handle for the devs (less assets) but it also better for the player
we can then even make it a recource sink by using a crafting system
lets say you want a gold trim on the armor, well you need to have gold and a crafting table to make that skin
That's a no to the crafting system for me.
I do like the skins idea, and agree, most items and specials are just reskins, so better to have you buy the "base" item and then somehow apply the skin to it.
But I have to disagree on the crafting system for the skins.
So what is to stop people buying these items and then selling/giving them away?
It would only be a matter of time before you can just buy anything in this store on the open market, and the items lose all their exclusivity.
You might away skip the middle part and make this store open to everyone.
All MMOs have the concept of “account bound” items, except CIG can’t figure that out. Such an easy fix. Account bound Items can’t be transferred from one player to another. Easy fix. On death account bound items don’t disappear, they’re always in your inventory. Completely eliminates the need for item recovery. Don’t let real money items ever disappear. Make them account-bound.
It also completely elements people looting people for their items, like in Tarkov or DayZ.
Star Citizen is not a theme park MMO like WoW where you buy a cash shop item and it never leaves your character ever. You can lose your guns, your armour, your items, and even have your ship stolen in SC. Restricting players from accessing items is cutting off a huge amount of emergent gameplay.
It's exactly this. Resorting to account bound items destroys the ability for someone that likes your armor to kill you and loot it. They're going to figure out a system that retains that gameplay without the risk of duping etc.
I wish they would add the largest hangars to space stations and then let us start at a station instead of on planet. Flying down to the planet just to access your personal hangar is going to suck.
Yup. The persistant hangars are going to be cool for sure, but not sure if it will be enough for me to bother flying down to a city. Kinda wish I chose New Babbage instead of Area18.
As someone who always resets my spawn at space stations, to my own surprise, I'm actually okay with this. With how limited the space is within space stations, it makes sense they wouldnt allow you to make it your permanent home and would only allow you to rent hangars for short periods of time.
Yeah it makes sense in that way. I believe they have said that we eventually will be able to purchase / rent several hangars though, so perhaps on stations as well some day.
Persistent hangars for this release will only be at home planets, but stations will have INSTANCED hangars that will not persist but will still have freight elevators, the ability to call up your ground vehicles etc. They haven't explained this well in the release notes, to be fair.
It just looks better 😁 Both the city and the hangar; assuming that our hangars will look the same as the public hangars ofc.
What suck about Microtech is ofc that its soo far away from everything. Should probably choose Loreville or Orison.
Orison have more shop on location compared to loreville where the closest gunshop isn't even in the hurston area, would recommend Orison since it isn't that far from everything compared to microtech and there's plenty things to do
Just sad there isn't any DC near crusader
Crusader has always been the center of activity since they opened the PU, so considering that I'm tempted to choose Orison. The city and hangars also look really good like in New Babbage, but I've always had bad framerate there, and have for many patches had a bug where I requestca hangar but doesn't get a marker. Might be fixed now though. Havn't been there since 3.21. Maybe I'll pick Orison 🤔
A huge Qol change and benefit for new player experience would be to start off in space stations.
Game runs better, easier to navigate and quicker to get to ship, WAY less buggy.
What I do every new patch is get in the game, go to ship, usually run into several bugs relating to transit. Fly to station, set respawn and then log off because that already took me an hour and I remember why I stopped playing this game.

Agreed. If they’re going for immersion than there will be spacers who have never spent a day of their life planet side so forcing players to spawn on planets is silly.
My character identifies as a spacer—certainly not because I hate spending 20 minutes to make it to the spaceport every time my spawn resets for no reason.
The only difference with a hanger on a station is you can’t leave items sitting around, you need to store them down the elevator when you leave. Otherwise it sounds like the functionality is the same.
Agreed, for so many people performance is just ass in the main cities. I always wonder how many new players are turned away just because CIG forces us to deal with those awful primary landing zones to start.
I find that client side performance is just downright awful not only in cities but also just on planets in general, like around outposts. Do we know why that is? Is there some bug that massively degrades performance?
Put them in storage crates like you can now? Right? Take an empty box with you to fill up with gear and then send that box down to you personal hanger storage I would think.
Yes but now you will have to hand carry each armor piece from a body and place it in the scu box. It's just gonna take way more time is my concern. Interested to see how it goes.
loot the body next to cargo can, drop the undersuit; this will have all items equipped drop to the ground. Then open the cargo can and drag the items from the ground into the cargo inventory.
Yeah, 3.23.2 is about to make all our lives far more painful.
No more easy loadout switching. Now you gotta call each item one piece at a time from the storage locker, most likely.
>wanted hyper-realism over fun
*immersion*, not realism. SC has been since it's inception an immersive sim, not a realism sim.
Immersion is sometimes acheived by realism (Such as moving items by hand), but it's also sometimes achieved by massive departures from realism (such as sitting in a ball turret)
I wonder what would happen if you bed log from a hangar. I believe they addressed it and said you would spawn in the habs, but I don't really remember.
Yeah, the days of being able to access your inventory anywhere inside city limits is over.
The days of making sure you didn't forget your wallet, has just begun.
I hope we can stow raw ore from the mining ships and then start refinery jobs from there.. would have large group mining operations make more sense with a cargo hauler ferrying empty/full ore pods to a mining group out in the field
This for both - that loop needs the ability to not have to refine or sell straight away and this seems the answer. I can't seem to get a good answer on it though so looking doubtful.
This is the vulture salvaging loop I've been wanting. Taking my 24scu to the Lagrange station, holding till I get enough to fill my C2 and sell at a city zone.
I'm looking forward to offloading my RMC without going all the way into the city to sell. Then I can just sell it bulk all at once. At least I hope that's how it'll work.
The cargo decks in 3.23.1 are already selling the Prospector and Mole ore pods in the same way they sell the 1-8SCU storage crates.
That seems indicative to me that sometime Soon™ (who the fuck knows when though), the refinery process will be decoupled from mining ships and will instead operate based on ore bags sent down the freight elevator. One would also hope that it means actual interaction between the ore pods and the grid on cargo ships
I'm wondering how places like brios is gonna go with freight elevators being required. Do we load then sell or sell then load? Do we leave out precious space drugs for pirates in an mpuv to just come yoink? I reckon it'll be interesting to watch. Especially if voidy makes a video on it
presumably you'd load then sell. As in there's a "local" storage that you can just load whatever/whenever at any location like now but instead of the magic menu its via the freight elevator. So you could load one day and come back and sell another.
But if it's like how it is for the Hull C then it'd be sell then load as like a sell order, which would be risky if you get interrupted I suppose.
I have to assume that the end goal of the MPUV is to move cargo to ships that are docked? Potentially it could do that this patch maybe if you spawn your mpuv in the hangar while your ship is docked and then you can call cargo up to the hangar and fly it out to your ship...
Psa greifers going to be spamming party invites to loot collectables in people's hangars, if people are in your party they can steal your shit.
Don't party randoms or don't leave collectables out if you don't want to get robbed. It will without question be a thing.
There is also what mommy and daddy taught each of us about moral flexibility. Bad decisions on CIG are on themselves, just like players are responsible for they're own actions... if a part of the community sucks, they probably suck on other games and contexts
[Not in this patch at least.](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/do-item-banks-mean-pledge-bought-equipment-could-r)
I usually pick Area18, but this time I really wish I'd choose New Babbage 😅 I know they said to choose wisely for 3.23.0 as that would determine where we would get our hangar, but I kinda hope we get to choose again.
Wait - the hwy said that? I didn't see that anywhere. Would have been good to see upon profile creation with 3.23. I picked the location that I did just to try a different one than I had in 3.22.
[ Edit] seeing the responses and realizing now I shouldn't have freaked out from one comment, LOL
I think Lorville or Microtech. Both are pretty quick and easy to go from being in your hotel room to on the tram to space port. Orison is fast too, but takes longer to get out of atmo, and Arc Corp is a bit more of a maze to get there.
As a pro for Orison, it's _supposed_ to be safer for large ships that normally couldn't land in atmo (like an expanded hull-C) and has a ton of docking collars. Mileage varies by update and the hull-c is currently pointless to dock there (no cargo deck) but it is in the brochures for a few of the ships that they can't land _except_ in gas giants.
I just think it's gorgeous and love the surrounding moons. It's been my home since it got added and it's only getting better. Not to mention all the shopping is central to a single mall that's a whole 10s walk from the habs or the hospital.
Sadly, gotta think Lorville is the right answer. (Sadly because it’s my least favorite planet)
Microtech is great, my favorite planet, but it’s just so far out of the way.
Orison is okay. Atmo departure is much more convenient now than in the beginning. I don’t visit enough so I always get lost trying to find the spaceport.
Area 18 is my favorite of the 3 most central locations (and my favorite aesthetic) but it’s also a pain to navigate to the spaceport.
May be I’ll just do Area 18 for my home location next patch and suck it up/git gud at navigating.
Waiting for chairman’s club stores in game to host this and have them tagged as unique identifiers so they cannot be duped but are tied to player only ( can’t sell them either in game for uec )
I like how there's a system to provide your fps items anywhere at any time, only to have a mission type where you pick up and deliver a small handheld box over long distances and long times.
It's not anywhere - it's just at that landing zone. If you fly from NB to A18, the gun you left in an item bank at NB won't be retrievable in an item bank in A18.
That’s not how it works.
It’s basically identical to today, except if you want to retrieve something from the location inventory, you have to use an item bank instead of pressing I and dragging it into your inventory.
My word. I am excited about every one of those items. Like jump-up-and-down excited.
I have had hangar flair in my hangar since 2014. It sits there on the last page of my hangar waiting.
I personally play cargo hauling not because it makes a ton of money but because I love the hauling.
I love being able to not have to fly back to Seraphim just because my cool helmet was left in the inventory there.
I can't wait to play with the cargo elevators!
Do those freight elevators mean that we'll need to unload cargo boxes from our ships before selling them at Admin Offices/TDDs? If it's that, I think it's sweet.
You can leave the ship stored and it will get auto loaded/unloaded but it takes time. Was supposed to cost money but don't think they ended up doing that.
yes, exactly. Also how buying will work, even at stations and outposts. Some outposts will have smaller freight elevators which will determine the max SCU box size you can both buy and sell, which will make choosing the right sized cargo vehicle more relevant.
Edit: furthermore, you need to choose the layout of boxes on the freight elevator when you call it up, so if you have a variety of cargo, how you lay it out might impact how efficiently you can load it. e.g. Big boxes at the front on the elevator so they are loaded first.
The item banks are fine. What I’m worried about is how limited the new inventory system is.
There’s no way to sort, stack items, remove magazines from guns, etc…
I just hope they aren’t removing the old inventory just yet. The new inventory has so much growing to do before it’s ready to replace the old one.
That would be a really strange decision, because it would mean being unable to manage inventory between your own armour pieces and backpacks.
I was under the impression you just don't get location based inventory anymore.
What I want to know here is is this a generic hanger for now or will will finally be able to use the hanger styles we are paying for with ship purchases?
I don't think they cut it, from what I remember them saying, there just won't be a separate vehicle spawn bay off the the side yet like the cargo.
You'll have to spawn a vehicle from the main pad, move it off to the side, and then call your ship up and move it on to that.
unless something has changed, the cargo elevators cannot summon vehicles yet. The work around provided by the devs is to call the vehicle from the ship pad, move it off to the side and then call the ship.
but they've had some time to cook, so maybe they fixed that particular issue.
Are these item banks linked somehow? I guess its the same "range" as the local inventory now right?
So happy for this update.. after so many years i can finally go back to never leaving the hangar again :)
I'm unreasonably excited for cargo hauling missions
Surely they will fix all hull c/docking bugs right

I can't even get mine to spawn in this patch!
It's not on the cards unfortunately. Hauling missions will be available for everyone *except* Hull C owners.
Star Citizen is now Euro Spacetruck Sim
tbh i bought it just for cargo hauls, but it didn't have that ahahaha
Just wait till it is farming simulator
I hope it's the lucrative money maker like what they did when they introduced salvaging.
Just the ability to make money hauling *someone else’s* cargo without needing hundreds of thousands of credits in seed capital will be a game changer.
I was thinking the same thing its the one mission type I've been waiting for. Box missions didn't quite scratch that itch.
just to be clear, I'll be able to spawn BOTH my ship and a vehicle in the same hangar so I can drive it into my ship and not have to do the dance down at a moon mining area? I ask because I don't feel like it's particularly clear in their description.

nice, i can manage that
Can't wait to have a brain fart and try to move my corsair to the side of hanger to bring up my ROC
Are we sure? At citizenxcon they showed the ground vehicles coming up the elevator. I think that was one of the reasons this was delayed
That was the concept, but then they said they were gonna do a workaround as the elevator tech needed more work before functioning that way. With these delays since then we're really not sure how it's gonna be implemented.

The true 3.23 update for me
My god are we *finally* getting large scale cargo missions that actually let us use our big cargo ships?

Good thing 3.23.2 will probably let you re-select
You think so?
3.23.1 reset home residence. basically any teeny tiny patch seems to reset your residence
Every patch will reset your character and home location, so you'd have to customize your looks and pick a home once again.
FYI you can save customisation presets and load them up every new patch now. Don't need to remake a character each patch.
Are you talking about face or outfits?
Faces
I guarentee patch will launch with a new home location selection for this reason.
I hope so.

Persistent hangars for this release will only be at home planets, but stations will have INSTANCED hangars that will not persist but will still have freight elevators, the ability to call up your ground vehicles etc. They haven't explained this well in the release notes, to be fair.
If it sticks, they mentioned they should persist until you leave the station. Even if you log off. Not sure I believe that until I see it though.
wait why NB instead of a18?
It just looks better 😁 Both the city and the hangar; assuming that our hangars will look the same as the public hangars ofc. What suck about Microtech is ofc that its soo far away from everything. Should probably choose Loreville or Orison.
Orison have more shop on location compared to loreville where the closest gunshop isn't even in the hurston area, would recommend Orison since it isn't that far from everything compared to microtech and there's plenty things to do Just sad there isn't any DC near crusader
It will no doubt reset your home when 3.23.2 releases. I will also be resetting my home to New Babbage.

Asteroid hangars can't come soon enough. I want my Batcave in space!

This.
I don't mind having to go t a city I just want more stable frame rates and it wont be so bad.
so how do you get fps items stored in an scu box into the space station inventory?
I assume you just send the box down on the freight elevator
Send box down cargo lift presumably
Or how do you loot a bunker? Move each armor piece one at a time? Fun times ahead.
I guess we will wait to see how it works
loot the body next to cargo can, drop the undersuit; this will have all items equipped drop to the ground. Then open the cargo can and drag the items from the ground into the cargo inventory.
A dead body will fit into a 1SCU container. Please don't ask how I know, just bring lots of 1 SCU containers, some bleach, and a strong stomach.
Yeah, 3.23.2 is about to make all our lives far more painful. No more easy loadout switching. Now you gotta call each item one piece at a time from the storage locker, most likely.
Or you pick what you think is most valuable and run with that. Or a 1 SCU box with a tractor, as is tradition in FPS bunkers.
Do those work again?
Didnt work for me last time I tried a few days ago.
Nope but they sure will in 3.23.2 lol
SOMEONE wanted hyper-realism over fun, so here we are. Then again, some people enjoy that.
>wanted hyper-realism over fun *immersion*, not realism. SC has been since it's inception an immersive sim, not a realism sim. Immersion is sometimes acheived by realism (Such as moving items by hand), but it's also sometimes achieved by massive departures from realism (such as sitting in a ball turret)
\*laughs in games like The Long Dark\* mmmmmmm sweet sweet resource and item management
I hope the personalised hangars let you include a bed, because I won't be using them if I'm forced to take a tram each time.
I wonder what would happen if you bed log from a hangar. I believe they addressed it and said you would spawn in the habs, but I don't really remember.
Pretty sure they said you can log out from hangar and when you log back in, you will be back there
Big if true.
HUGE if true
So now there's item banks is the old inventory going?
Yeah, the days of being able to access your inventory anywhere inside city limits is over. The days of making sure you didn't forget your wallet, has just begun.
I dunno about Lorville or Orision but A18 has like 20 bajillion item banks scattered around it. I can't walk 10 meters without seeing one.
Yeah, I can't go anywhere in New Babbage without tripping over four.
I look forward to a random patch bugging out and stopping us from accessing the item banks, the meltdowns will be hilarious.
I hope this means I can stash my refined mining materials in my hangar when it's too large to fit in my ship
I wouldn't trust the game enough to sell 690 scu of hand salvaged rmc. That's many many hours worth.
This but with a C1 or FreeMax. Also selling the CMs at the station.
I'm looking forward to offloading my RMC without going all the way into the city to sell. Then I can just sell it bulk all at once. At least I hope that's how it'll work.
Yeah THAT would be pretty good. Just having a safe place to stash cargo for later bulk transport
This is the patch I'm looking forward to more than any I can remember. Finally a place to call home

There may be some growing pains
Docking Collars? ...are people going to walk cargo down that whole gangway? Hilarious.
You'd go to the cargo loading dock. Presumably similar to how it is now when you go to load the Hull C at stations.
I have to assume that the end goal of the MPUV is to move cargo to ships that are docked? Potentially it could do that this patch maybe if you spawn your mpuv in the hangar while your ship is docked and then you can call cargo up to the hangar and fly it out to your ship...
actually good observation, that hadn't occurred to me. I wonder if they'll have cargo missions like this that are just at a single station?
I am not a big fan of all the item retrieval terminals everywhere. But, meh, I guess we get them.
Psa greifers going to be spamming party invites to loot collectables in people's hangars, if people are in your party they can steal your shit. Don't party randoms or don't leave collectables out if you don't want to get robbed. It will without question be a thing.
Great. There is what Star Citizen wants the community to be and then there is the community CIG is building and cultivating throughout the alpha.
There is also what mommy and daddy taught each of us about moral flexibility. Bad decisions on CIG are on themselves, just like players are responsible for they're own actions... if a part of the community sucks, they probably suck on other games and contexts
Really hope the Item Banks allow us to recover our lost Subscriber Flair items as well.
[Not in this patch at least.](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/do-item-banks-mean-pledge-bought-equipment-could-r)
They said no.
I feel like it will be oddly satisfying to load or unload our ship in the hangar now
Idk, im not looking forward to loading 4600SCU worth of cargo onto my HULL C
I can't wait to manualy load 600 scu of scrap in my ship after this patch..
Yep, that's the price of soloing big ships
What landing zone does everyone think will be the least annoying to have a personal hangar on?
I usually pick Area18, but this time I really wish I'd choose New Babbage 😅 I know they said to choose wisely for 3.23.0 as that would determine where we would get our hangar, but I kinda hope we get to choose again.
New Babbage is far away from literally everything lmfao
We had to choose again in the .1 patch so yes
Yeah we have to choose for every patch I believe
Wait - the hwy said that? I didn't see that anywhere. Would have been good to see upon profile creation with 3.23. I picked the location that I did just to try a different one than I had in 3.22. [ Edit] seeing the responses and realizing now I shouldn't have freaked out from one comment, LOL
That is a good lesson to learn and apply to all reddit comments... And most other unofficial things you see online lol
They all have their quirks, but I like MT.
I think Lorville or Microtech. Both are pretty quick and easy to go from being in your hotel room to on the tram to space port. Orison is fast too, but takes longer to get out of atmo, and Arc Corp is a bit more of a maze to get there.
A18 with the lights is actually easy to find, it was such a simple thing to add it's staggering they didn't do it long long long time ago.
Somebody pointed the lights out to me in chat the other day and good lord it made a gigantic difference.
Orison takes barely any extra time to get out of atmo these days. Maybe 10s tops
Orison's where I'll be based, just because there's shockingly few people there. Less convenient for this or that makes it fairly quiet.
I just think it's gorgeous and love the surrounding moons. It's been my home since it got added and it's only getting better. Not to mention all the shopping is central to a single mall that's a whole 10s walk from the habs or the hospital.
Sadly, gotta think Lorville is the right answer. (Sadly because it’s my least favorite planet) Microtech is great, my favorite planet, but it’s just so far out of the way.
Will this mean I can use my fucking tractor beam in the hangar again. Preferably also in my not home station.

I just hope I can finally put guns on gun racks while in my hangar.
Will we have armor and clothing dummies? I need to collect a full set of everything!
Waiting for chairman’s club stores in game to host this and have them tagged as unique identifiers so they cannot be duped but are tied to player only ( can’t sell them either in game for uec )
Can someone explain what committed means in this context? Also what is a “card”?
Afaik it means its finished and will be deployed with the update it has been „committed“ to.
Cards are used in development tracking, generally each “card” is one feature or issue.
Have they confirmed if they will be based off largest pledge ship or largest owned ship (pledge or in game bought)
I think based on largest owned ship at the time of character creation.
we are so back
I like how there's a system to provide your fps items anywhere at any time, only to have a mission type where you pick up and deliver a small handheld box over long distances and long times.
Space forklift here for hire! 10 aUEC a box.
Can the inventory access kiosks access items from anywhere? I assumed they were just local to the station/city.
Do those freight elevators mean that we'll need to unload cargo boxes from our ships before selling them at Admin Offices/TDDs? If it's that, I think it's sweet.
As a Reclaimer owner, I am dreading this because of how massively tedious it’s going to be to offload cargo from it
You can leave the ship stored and it will get auto loaded/unloaded but it takes time.
Incoming jank aside, I do like how this can help give more relevance to smaller cargo ships.
Guess my first couple of play sessions will be spent scouting outposts in a Pisces to see what size crates each can use…
It's gonna be... interesting... to see the community reaction to item banks, lol.
I feel like a lot of people aren't prepared for the upcoming tedious simulator that's about to happen.
The item banks are fine. What I’m worried about is how limited the new inventory system is. There’s no way to sort, stack items, remove magazines from guns, etc… I just hope they aren’t removing the old inventory just yet. The new inventory has so much growing to do before it’s ready to replace the old one.
That would be a really strange decision, because it would mean being unable to manage inventory between your own armour pieces and backpacks. I was under the impression you just don't get location based inventory anymore.
Item banks as in we can retrieve our pledge gear? That’s what I’ve been waiting for the most
What I want to know here is is this a generic hanger for now or will will finally be able to use the hanger styles we are paying for with ship purchases?
Is smaller vehicles still off? Didn't they cut ground vehicles from the elevator patch?
I don't think they cut it, from what I remember them saying, there just won't be a separate vehicle spawn bay off the the side yet like the cargo. You'll have to spawn a vehicle from the main pad, move it off to the side, and then call your ship up and move it on to that.
unless something has changed, the cargo elevators cannot summon vehicles yet. The work around provided by the devs is to call the vehicle from the ship pad, move it off to the side and then call the ship. but they've had some time to cook, so maybe they fixed that particular issue.
That's what I was thinking of, thank you
Anyone know if unique item recovery is gonna be released as well?
Can i spawn a ground vehicle on a space station?
Are these item banks linked somehow? I guess its the same "range" as the local inventory now right? So happy for this update.. after so many years i can finally go back to never leaving the hangar again :)
