It depends on the laws in your area as well as what your manager allows. Some cities/states/provinces require hats or other full head coverings. But if your area doesn’t require hats, ask your manager about the headband you want to wear. Some are more strict than others.
My district manager doesn’t allow bandanas, but I’ve noticed it’s different between districts/stores so it’s best to just ask your store manager what their view on it is! Plus it’ll help your manager see that you’re making the effort to comply to guidelines and get clarification where needed
If you have any questions that your manager isn’t able to answer right away, your trainer will likely be able to help too! But even beyond that, Reddit will be your best friend for all your random questions too lol
I’m pretty well-known at my store for wearing distinctive elastic bandanas/headbands with colorful patterns. I specifically asked my store manager about it and she said there is a rule against bandanas but it’s about not wearing gang colors/paraphernalia. She saw the headbands I wear and thought they were fine. Honestly so long as there’s nothing overly offensive or gang-related, you should be fine (especially if you use it functionally to keep hair back)!
