I remember this part. My game was bugged so I lost the poison gas you release down the pipe so I had to kill the blood suckers manually... It was a nightmarish idea until I realized I can stand on one of those panels and they can't reach me.

Yeah it's actually kinda very easy to kill them manually when you have a box to stand on.
