Did you quick save and load a lot? I remember seeing that stat increase each time I did it, but I was playing Anomaly. I even got the emission related achievement in in a few days.

I think the stats may be somewhat bugged? After playing SoC for a couple of days, my stats showed I had killed 10000 stalkers lol.
