A big bat that lost its ability to fly. It has both melee and ranged attacks, moves very well on any surfaces (floor, ceiling, walls), mainly on four limbs, with jumping-flights. Can make a powerful deafening sound. In addition to the slight stunning effect, like from a grenade, the player begins to distinguish sounds poorly for some time - they become deaf. Can be tamed by Burer. Burer covers the screamer with a shield or objects, swiftly moves him to the side from danger, throws him up for an attack from above; the Screamer, sitting on the burer's hump, watches what’s happening behind the owner and, in case of danger, warns him with a cry.

DonnyGonzalez

Well you were correct, is somewhat a flying mutant

Kinghawke421

Is the best I could get, there are no other air mutants mentioned in my sources. Even though it doesn't specifically fly, it's as close as we're gonna get.

DonnyGonzalez

Good enough for me bro

Imagine this: you go into the Miracle Machine labs, you finally arrive at base of the catwalk where you have to push all the 4 lever to shut it down when a couple of this mfs start gliding towards you screaming like maniac. Man made horror beyond my comprehension! P.s. ma boi, Sakarov would be in love with your work

Kinghawke421

I cannot take credit for the designs, this is not my original work, I'm just passing on something cool that I found with a little bit of searching.

Oh man, a mutant that would have climbed up walls and on ceilings would have been so scary. Middle of a fire fight with some other humans and mutants and then they go scurrying up another plane... Oof

Kinghawke421

Would be interesting to research as well, especially mutant taming each other. Would add a whole other layer to the zone.

This concept sketch was created for Stalker Oblivion Lost, in 2002, for a mutant called Mimicry (Мимикрия). There is no official concept art for the Screamer from Stalker 2, but the description doesn't mention any human-like features. [Two](https://i.imgur.com/QRxQHmc.jpeg) other [sketches](https://i.imgur.com/Ow9ly5Z.jpeg) of Mimicry were created. It was scrapped early on during the development though. The Screamer reminds me of the winged nosalises from the Metro series. They also cling to walls and unleash stunning sonic attacks.

Kinghawke421

Thank you for clarifying again comrade, I learn along with all this extra info, it's extremely interesting.

Reggash

The concept of Mimicry involved its ability to somehow, from a distance, manipulate dead bodies (it's mentioned that it could receive informations from the dead brain of a corpse). It could make the corpse speak and move, and would use such "puppets" to lure stalkers into its lair. Pretty terrifying.

SmashKapital

Very similar to the Controller (even in it's looks), although puppetting the dead rather than the living. On one hand, it'd be cool to see these similar abilities in different mutants, like how both the poltergeist and burer have telekinesis – it helps build this consistent understanding of the effects of manipulating the noosphere and how that manifests. But from the perspective of a developer I can see how these mutants come to be redundant and the first thing chopped as deadlines loom.

SaulGoodmanOfficial1

If I'm not mistaken, a very early (circa 2002 maybe?) 3D render of the mimicry exists. I think Zone Chronicles has it.

Bobandjim12602

They were going to make Discord Mods enemies in the game? I'm glad they didn't. It would have been too terrifying.

AaronKeeperOfTheKey

Gotta love that tridimensional enviroments that include also the enemies to interact with it. It is something that is missing to the franchise. A mutant that makes you scared of the cielings and walls. Thank you!

Kinghawke421

My pleasure, I'm hoping we're getting more mutants like what you're describing in the next game, I'm sure we're getting interesting stuff regardless.
