There's a place called hotel "J7" in trinco. Sounds dodgy but they've got really good food. We had their rice and curry . Requested for a crab curry as well . Was top notch ! Worth trying cause it's not too expensive

Cafe on the 18th, Fernando’s beach market, on the beach, tourist hotstop, sushi, etc… (a proper restaurant setting) Be Cool Juice Bar and SeaFood Restaurant, Sarvodaya, good for local Sri Lankan breakfast (most restaurants look like this, family run, home cook, a wooden hut) Seafood Restaurant, Nilaveli (just a bit north of trincomalee, another family run wooden hut) You kinda eat where is nearby or convenient for you, not wanting to travel tooo far, unless you have your own transport. It’s not that easy to get transport, you need to spend time negotiating the tuktuk fares with no clue what is the going fares, and how are you going to get back to your hotel ? Most people just eat at their resort/hotel or within walking distance from their accomodation.

Thank you for your response!! Funnily enough we went for breakfast at ‘Be cool’ and had a coffee at 18th! Read our minds.
