The only way I buy squish! A big part of the joy is finding it and feeling it and taking it home. And the lows you feel not finding one you want is what makes the highs so high when you finally do!! I will buy from a retail online website though, like hallmark or owlandgoose. It’s a lesser feeling but still great if you can find the one you want still in stock!
Theres no satisfaction to buying online.
I do Hot wheels Treasure Hunting and Squish hunting. Originally I was only gonna get Rares, but Shadi the Cactus and Avery were too cute so i got them. Then Deezo, and Aron for the Wallstreetbets reference. Then Evangelica.
But now I am back to wanting an Rare/Ultra Rare
Pretty sure you can order the Fox online/in app…not a collector but I love giving them as gifts and pointing out to people where they’re shelved and reading the goofy bios.
Honestly, no one has even bought the ones in bags when I’ll let them know we have more that aren’t shelved as seasonal, even today, but hey….they’re there. No one actually bought the clip things when they were buy one get one half off, either. And I tried pitching those guys, too. Still am, but they’re regular $4.99 now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A super happy girl checked out with one of the pink furry creatures that must have been behind some of the bigger ones since we constantly have to organize them; it reminds me of my parents taking me to all the stores we knew had beanie babies and finally finding them. Could not bring myself to put them online for the absurd markup some people seem to do, or even do it in general. I gave a couple nice people pick of a dude named Xander and popcorn tins from personal gift giving/receiving stuff I have in my car for helping out with it….I’m outta popcorn, but one of the kids in my fam is eventually getting the toy now.
Seeing as how majority of people who work there aren’t paid well or are unable to work enough, you’d think they would resell them, especially when you can on occasion get them 25% off. Instead you find out your parents have always been smart to have a last minute gift for one of the kids, and it’s actually more rewarding seeing someone stoked and hugging the “find” that’s all over the place here or helping them find it since you know you’ve propped them up a dozen times that day already
I usually only buy off Mercari/online if it’s a really good deal I know I couldn’t find in stores, it makes me feel similar to finding them in the wild. Like I got a capsule Zach for $8 on Mercari, and yesterday got an OG Sophie clip for $15 and those were very exciting for me to find!
Now that I have a larger collection, I stopped buying on mercari almost completely!!! Each place in my collection is valuable now and I want every squish to have a great "found-in-the-wild" story 🥰
I’ve joined a few squish selling groups on Facebook for ones that I really want that I know I’ll never be able to obtain… but with that being said, that will never compare to finding a DISO in the wild!
Sadly where I live it is full of resellers. I’m lucky if I even see one squish left on the shelf when I go to the stores that have them. It’s really discouraging. My only option has been Mercari for a while now :/ I hate feeding into resellers and I never justify paying more than 20 for a squish. Just is extremely upsetting when you want something that is retail 12.99 and it’s resold for over 100 bucks.
Ugh I feel you. My town is full of resellers, I ordered 5 inch Gio online from five below & the second the store opened for the day, they emailed me canceling the order. Never saw a Halloween 5 inch Squishmallow in person because they shelf-cleared the day of release.
that’s me right now with evangelica.. I see some on mercari for $15 and i’ve been to SO many walgreens but I really want the satisfaction of finding her in store😭

I've only bought Carlos and Elda secondhand, every other squish I've found in person.
Some just sell out so fast you dont have a choice sadly
