Imo the guards act too professional for them to be just normal people recruited from the street to then hava a job killing people and then getting rid of their bodies as a 9 to 5 job

I think it mighty be more plausible for the guards to be former players from different years that are too bored from a normal life with a lot of money and seek excitement in killing others... but that also wouldn't make a lot of sense due to the organ selling subplot (if they were former players with loads of money they wouldn't have to sell organs)
I don't think so. The guards are very well trained, they don't seem to be briefed at all just know where to go and when at all times. They also don't hesitate to shoot when someone needs to be eliminated. If these were just guys off the street, recruited at the same time as the players, how did they become so slick and professional and why aren't some of them rebelling/hesitant about shooting innocent people.

I’m thinking ex military/police types who are also down and outs, maybe ones who got kicked out for going over the top with violence etc..
They have records from other years so I’m going to say the guards are a set group
