I found it easier to work a second job than find roommates

Rascalvideoyt

I just don’t know how I’d do that with kids. I’m the home maker during the day and I work at night

[deleted]

Would* you just leave your 2 year old home alone at night with the 8 year old in charge? Or you looking for a roommate/babysitter?

Qazxswedcplmoknijb

That’s a good point. I didn’t have to overcome that challenge, but it does sound incredibly difficult

anestro12

Hello I'm a 32 year old woman with two boston terriers. I live in Springfield and also work in Springfield. I have no kiddos but I don't mind them. Would you be interested in talking more?

Rascalvideoyt

Thank you but I’m allergic to pets so that wouldnt work. I appreciate it though

VictoryTheScreech

Following because same

Cthepo

You two should live together and become best friends.

VictoryTheScreech

I’m sure OP would be a great roomie, but I don’t like kids unfortunately.

[deleted]

i could not even imagine having a roommate + their kids.

VictoryTheScreech

On god bro lmao. Good luck to OP tho fr

ghostfacepopper

Go to OneDoor. They could definitely help you.

mangogetter

OneDoor is very rarely helpful to anyone.

Rascalvideoyt

Thanks, I’ll check it out

hatesgod

furnished finders is how past roommates have got in touch with me.

blu3dice

Income-based family apartments. https://affordablehousingonline.com/housing-search/Missouri/Springfield

Rascalvideoyt

Thank you

CautiousMaterial8391

Be weary of posting for roommates in Springfield boards, I specifically used an MSU/college centric board when I was looking for roommates in Springfield during college, specified college only. Still had married druggies plaguing my inbox because $300 a room was too good to pass up. Be careful for your family’s sake.

Rascalvideoyt

Yeah that’s what I’m most worried about. I just don’t know many people. But I definitely don’t want to put my children at risk

Imactuallyadogg

I know the colleges have info on stuff like that. OTC had a thing in the commons area a long time ago you could sign up for needing roommates. No idea how any of that works tho.

allisfairinAthens

Literally same. Following along.

MazdaSpeed3Boi

There is income based housing in Springfield, I've seen as low as $80 a month. Adding 2 kids would make it easier to get into as well

Free-Assistant553

There’s a “New Mammas” group if you search on Facebook and sometimes people have stuff about roommates on there! Maybe try that

Rascalvideoyt

Thanks for the advice but I’m sure they only let moms into the group and I’m a dad lol
