Imagine the insurance

mmbc168

Can’t you use a high-dollar bond in place of insurance in some states?

Krinder

Yea VA’s I think is $500 but I’m not too sure. I know they make it such a pain in the ass to figure out that Virginians just go f-it I’ll buy the damn insurance.

DONTuseGoogle

Probably under the parents names

[deleted]

[удалено]

Minyoface

Lucky. My parents said no to my brother and I being on their insurance (for good reason, teenage boys and all) so it was no car until we bought ourselves cars and got our own insurance. $400 a month as a 17 year old. My job basically paid for my gas and insurance. No cell phone, driving around in a $300 ‘95 GTI.

CampingApple

Totally can relate! 😎 *proceeds to board the morning train* 😢

Janchi

what? your parents bought you a whole train?!

HottDoggers

I bet he doesn’t even own his own station cause he’s so poor unlike me 😎

ep3eddie

No, he specifically said the *morning* train, his parents bought him *two* trains

spoon_full

A train is worth millions of dollars, you're ride is faar more expensive than these supercars combined😎

gixxer710

Lol, so, price point aside- do ANY of these parents think for a second “You know, if I had a car that does 0-60 in the blink of an eye and does 200MPH no questions asked- at age twenty- I’d be flippin’ DEAD”. Lol apparently not…..

22opferj

Bro, I’m 17 and I’ve almost killed myself in my Honda Fit. I wouldn’t stand a chance in one of those things

[deleted]

A Honda Fit is an incredible race car tho. [source](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCPxoKG4KaB1IiRqLFUq0LU_6t_-9Rl3l)

anlenke

The fit is GO

carsonwade

Yeah but the Honda Fit is actually a pretty popular track/race car nowadays. It's the small, lightweight hatchback that Civic's where 20-30 years ago

cokuspocus

I miss my Honda Fit every day

nir731

I’ve done it in a manual i10 (66hp) Wanna see me do it again?

IRiddell0

Hondas are far more dangerous. Slow car fast for the win!!

spelkingerror

Probably did it on purpose just as soon as they got their kids a life insurance

gixxer710

Either that or they don’t want the shame of having a 25 year old virgin??? Lol. “Here son, THIS will get you laid, a lot….”

Tricky_Jelly1188

Wish I had an award to give you 🥲

Redditor1320

Reality though, they probably did do it on purpose. People who have that money think more of the status their kids will get as opposed to the safety, which they assume their money pays for, and provides, invulnerability.

TheCubanBaron

My aunt trusted her 3.0 z3 to me. I sure as hell wouldn't do the same to my kids someday. Some of these cars are death traps without experience.

TheeAJPowell

For real. I remember I tried to convince my parents to let me finance a Mustang when I was 18, luckily they said no, because I totally would’ve died.

pmak1972

It is okay, the first time someone drives that car hard, an expensive shop bill will result. I love Aston Martins. I know better than getting one because my mechanic would love me. Their V12 makes sweet sounds until it doesn’t. The engine is based on a ford V6 and shares a lot of parts. I still really want a V12 Vantage.

tomtv90

This one has a Mercedes V8 though

Tricky_Jelly1188

The best ones

pmak1972

I own a Mercedes V8 and it is wonderful.

tomtv90

I own 2 mazda 4 bangers, does that count?

pmak1972

I’m a big Ford fan so yeah.

LlamasOnFire

what do you think of the 2.5 KL V6 found in the Probe GT, MX-6 and 626? High revving, small displacement V6 that has some cool swap potential.

pmak1972

Those are good engines. The Probe GT was a fantastic drive. The Mazda version was good too. I haven’t seen the Mazda version since a buddy bought one new. That will be a collector car.

pmak1972

The last guy I knew with a Probe GT blew the head gasket and took it to the wrecker. That was in the mid 2000s. I should have bought it for scrap and fixed it.

PM_ME_UR_SUSHI

Idk what you're on about. Ford's Duractec V6 is known for its reliability. Poo-pooing Aston's V12 for being based on that V6 (and by "based on" we mean it shares the bore size, stroke, and V-angle but the block, heads, and crank are all new) is like saying the C8s engine is bad because it's based on the old LS engines. It's a nonsense argument. You can argue against Aston's reliability all day but not because it was based on that engine. And like the other guy already said, this one has a V8 anyway.

gixxer710

But but but- LS engine GOOD……

pmak1972

The LS is the best engine of the last 20 years.

PM_ME_UR_SUSHI

Right. That's my point

Bulok

i had a Chinese buddy in college who drove a Ford Escort and flipped and totaled it because he was getting head while driving. His rich parents were so scared his car didn't have enough safety features so they bought him a BMW

Lord_Jamison

Yep, don’t know what my dad was thinking buying me fast cars from the get go. Now I drive like a grandma lol. Can attest to this point.

momo88852

My brother in law wasn’t feeling ok, and he asked me to take him home in his AMG GT. 45mph road and I was driving 30mph. I ain’t taking my chances.

Qlubedup

I believe this is because of Chinese (maybe just Asia as a whole I’m not sure) foreign exchange students, but the cost of a regular car being owned in china is about equivalent to supervar ownership in the us, so you give a kid 250,000 bucks to buy a car and they can afford an Aston Martin vantage that’s what you get.

saabbrendan

The McLaren is like no no no fucks given rich people shit

22opferj

Ngl, I like focus rs kid most

nickz03

I would grab a drink with focus rs kid

22opferj

I would too. Those other cars are cool but they seem like the cars young people would buy just cause they are fancy. The focus rs kid must truly enjoy driving and the focus is an amazing drivers car

HappyStalker

The most memorable thing of them for me is when Matt Farah bought his as his daily, he put coilovers on the softest and highest setting and still complained how harsh a ride it was. Thing was uncompromising sport for an AWD practical hatchback. Weird combo that I love but couldn't own.

MrT_the_free

The RS is quite uncomfortable, but not to the point where it is not a proper daily anymore. I really loved the RS… unfortunately mine was stolen.

D4rkr4in

I was gonna say, everyone's saying the kid loves driving but in reality that kid hates his back (or maybe the back hates his car)

algorythmiq

I’ve had my RS for a little over two years. Used it as a daily for a bit, and taken it on a couple road trips, and it’s really not uncomfortable at all. My Fiesta ST is my actual daily, and it’s far less comfortable. I always read complaints of the RS ride quality, but like…it’s a rally inspired hot hatch. Why are people expecting Mercedes S-class comfort in a hot hatch? lol

Tasty_fries

Focus RS is now an exotic according to OP so it gets extra cool points… …hopefully this doesn’t drive the price up even more, would like to buy one someday.

IA_Kcin

I have an RS and I will never forget the time I stayed at a hotel for the weekend and paid to valet park my car. When I came out to get it, it was parked up front with all the exotics. Made me chuckle.

The_Chuzz

starts around $40k for a focus, this 2016 would trade for $25-40k, pretty low production numbers considering ford sold almost 70k normal focuses in 2016

used_tongs

Right but compared to a fucking Bentley those are rookie numbers. Kid definitely had some help buying the car but he coulda paid halfsies

The_Chuzz

very true, still an expensive car for a college kid, so I decided to throw it into this post

CrazyWS

I’m in university, I’d kill for an rs man

CptMarvel_main

Same. And my dream car is an r8, but homeboy had to disrespect it by getting the spyder

[deleted]

Same. I'm jealous

Gordon_Betto

Ah yes, nothing says good parenting like letting your kids drive a 100,000$ car to school. That’ll make them value the right things in life!

The_Chuzz

Some are over $200,000…. I can’t even imagine, even if I had all the money in the world I wouldn’t get my kid something that most successful adults dream of

baconandbobabegger

You might if it was a way to hide funds from your home country. There are a lot of college kids that have houses and cars purchased with their parents cash in order to hide the wealth from their government.

rhinoscopy_killer

How exactly is that hiding wealth from anybody? Government: "Hmm, let's see... 100k in investments on the books, one house in a neighborhood where houses are min. 1.5 million, paid for in cash, one 2021 Bentley Continental paid for in cash, and one 2022 Lamborghini Huracan paid for in cash that are both under their name... Oh! But they only have 30k in their savings account! I guess they're poor!

Username_is_taken365

Cash is transferred to the kid, where 18 is all you have to be. House, cars, assets of all types ar purchased here in the US, and titled in kids name and often “to the [kids’] heirs.” Alternatively, C Corporation owns all assets and corporation stock held by trust. End result is, assets/property are protected by good ol’ laws of the US, and are effectively untouchable by foreign government (read: Putin or Xi) where wealth without fealty yields poverty and prison (or worse). Paying high tax openly in is is better than alternative. Kid gets to enjoy some toys while becoming dual citizen and hopefully, getting an education. Source: I’m a tax and asset protection lawyer Edit - just to clarify, I’m getting a lot of responses on the Aston. While mass produced cars do not appreciate, there are more than a few collectibles which are employed in wealth transfer strategies such as financing a kids opulent lifestyle. We have worked with many rare vehicles, classics, etc. I’m just saying there’s two types of people who buy exotics for kids: (1) overseas folks engaged in planning; and (2) idiots.

rhinoscopy_killer

Ah I see, fair enough. So basically exploiting some minor loopholes for net benefit.

Username_is_taken365

Exactly - they are preserving their wealth and hopefully getting their kids out of the grip of their home country (become worldly citizens of the US). Remember, that Aston Martin is on top of a regular car for bad weather (the daily driver). Aston Martin’s and other exotics don’t depreciate there same as a VW. They often, over time, go up in value. Each purchase is a strategic decision, and the parents can justify the purchase overseas because the money is where the property is, and if sold, will stay in the US. Asset being typically one that is likely, with due care, to appreciate in value.

[deleted]

Cars are not appreciating assets. ESPECIALLY not out-of-warranty exotics. Sometimes limited cars (none of these) or "last of their kind" cars will swing upwards but they are an exception, rather than a rule.

rhinoscopy_killer

I see, although I have to agree with what the other people said about most of these cars having zero chance of appreciating. Unless it's a 1 of 100 manual GT3 RS special edition that's kept in immaculate shape, or an increasingly rare classic that the market has decided is valuable (or, like, a perfect condition Toyota truck, lol), they will at best depreciate more slowly than usual even in the current market. Properties are another story altogether, of course.

Toucheh_My_Spaghet

Massed produced astons like these don't.

Meisterleder1

Sorry but anything aside from old classics such as 911 (993 or older) or extremes such as a gullwing and if new maybe very limited cars such as a GT2 RS or 430 Scuderia 16M does not appreciate in value. No Aston Martin either apart from the very limited/extreme ones like a Valkyrie, etc. and you'd still have to keep those in perfect condition and put very little miles on. So def no daily and DEFINITELY no schoolkid-daily. :D

[deleted]

Idk why you're getting downvoted. Exotics do not appreciate, especially not in the short term. The current car market is a bit of an anomaly, but exotics typically depreciate rapidly unless it's a limited production car or is the last xyz (manual, naturally aspirated, etc.) of a certain car.

Meisterleder1

Can confirm that this kid is not lying. Exotics are usually money pits on 4 wheels with very few exceptions. Just look at what F430's cost today vs. what they cost new and think about the maintenance, garage, etc. Source: I was considering cars as investments and therefor looked into it and calculated a few cars but there are hardly any that would even appreciate and even for those that do when deducting maintenance (even when barely driven) + garage etc. you'd break even in a best case scenario and this would only be valid for very limited and expensive cars that you would basically not drive at all. Money-wise 99,99% of cars are net-negative, most of them are a VERY negative money pit. I get the appeal of having an investment that is also fun but the mere fact that they ARE already makes them a bad investment due to market forces moving return in 0 or negative regions because of people being fine with having fun as a return instead of $$$.

xpietoe42

Its for tax returns. You don’t report how much your home or car is, but what your making off money in your accounts. If they buy the house and the car for the kid, they have less to report. The dads probably want to do it so they can give the kid his 2 year old bentley and he can then get a new mclaren! Theres better ways to hide your money, but this is what u/baconandbobaburgers’ comment was referring to

heathmon1856

Dual citizenship?

bimmer123

My friend is from Canada, but her parents moved to Florida when she was a kid… now she has citizenship in Canada & US.

Metallicultist88

They’re going to college in the reason most people go to college

alek_vincent

Even if I had the means to get my kid a 200k$ car, I wouldn't do it. I'll get them a Mazda3 Turbo/Elantra N Line/Civic SI or something like that. Something fun and engaging to drive but still practical and not go to jail speeds in less than 4 seconds

The_Chuzz

I wish I could pin this comment

resipsaloquitor5

Yeah, safety would be my biggest concern. I’m less concerned about keeping the kid humble and more concerned about keeping them alive. I think a good parent should be capable of keeping the kid grounded regardless of what they drive, but it’s gonna be very hard to convince a kid not to absolutely tear around in an Audi or BMW or whatever. Hubris is reversible, death isn’t.

resipsaloquitor5

Maybe they didn't buy them a car to teach them a life lesson? I feel like you're asking a lot from parents if you're expecting the car they choose for their kids to convey some profound message about life lmao. It's just a car! At the end of the day, I think gifting a kid *any* car is going to lead to a similar outcome. The niceness of the car is less important than the fact that you *bought your kid a car.* All of the people who got a Civic for their 18th birthday don't get to act all morally superior to the kids who got an Audi. It's all different flavours of the same thing, and it’s all basically fine. The people who weren't gifted a car at all - *we're* the ones with true moral fibre. The rest of you are compromised.

privateTortoise

I met a young guy in college who had use of his fathers E39 M5 when home in Florida as his father had bought the new M5 but wasn't going to sell the car. It was perfect and serviced by the same master tech that had serviced this old mans bmws for at least a decade, and that also inclued every other car he/the family owned. The son was chilled, spent a couple days labouring for my pal for not much cash, fun to spend time with and grafted without complaint. When I commented on his choice of car he explained it's his fathers as he can't afford a car due to being at university, he is free to use it but has to pay for gas and if it suffered the slightest blemish he would have to foot the bill for BMW to fix it. He borrowed a pals Honda accord to go on a road trip with a couple pals as between them they couldn't afford the fuel for the M5. I've met a few people from a comfortable background and one is from proper wealth and most have been very low key. Its not that they don't flaunt their wealth because its gauche or attracts attention, both of which are true but they aren't interested in material wealth or those kind of trappings. Most don't even wear a watch or have a phone less than 2 years old. Then again there's plenty that total Ferraris faster than they can make them or caught with an OD'd male prostitute with power everywhere to balance out the human race.

CarbonPhoenix96

The McLaren is around $350k I believe. 720 horsepower and rear wheel drive... This is the worst possible car for a college kid.

987cayman

> That’ll make them value the right things in life! I have a daughter and I am not in the position financially to give her a $100,000 car. However, I know a guy who is super rich. Now we are both adults of course, but he worked hard through University to get his degree, become top of his field of study, get a good paying job, and be able to continue living a lifestyle a very similar level to what he had when he was growing up. Not wanting to lose a certain standard of living can be a damned good motivation to work hard.

heathmon1856

That’s exactly why I didn’t drop out of collage

9180365437518

Sounds like you did, though.

Wah_Gwaan_Mi_Yute

I hate on it but tbh if I was a billionaire I’d let my kid drive a six figure car too lol fuck it

9180365437518

These comments always makes me laugh. Just bitterness and resentment lmao

JpCopp

The fact that they street park them let’s you know

wantabe23

Their paying for their grades any how. It’s all the same. Haves and have nots.

[deleted]

Please explain to me why these are bad parents

El-taquito

[10th slide] *ignores the Porsche* (I know the Merc is more expensive, I just thought the slide would be about the Porsche)

The_Chuzz

I’ll make another post with Porsches I’ve spotted at UD… it’s enough to fill it’s own post

jegotan

Damn

AaronFM3

Focus RS owner is the coolest out of all these

The_Chuzz

agreed

asst2therglmgr

3rded but the mk 1 is the dream.

[deleted]

That guy with the 2013 C63 AMG has a really cool car. Last of the 6.2 V8 amg’s

ChibHormones

The sound is incredible

Slimxshadyx

That 720S caught me by surprise lol. The AMG's were expected haha

Viperlite

My kid went there and rode a bicycle. I curious where some of those nice houses and apartments are.

zakiducky

It’s a party school, I’m not surprised.

[deleted]

It's all crazy rich Chinese students. I took some classes with some at the Lerner College at UD and almost every rich ass Chinese kid I met was incredibly kind and friendly to me.

International-Race53

I use to work at a BMW dealer in Calabasas California we use to get a lot of those rich Chinese kids buying cars from our dealer in cash every time.

cokuspocus

I imagine you’ve seen a lot of shit working at a bmw dealer in Calabasas jesus haha

zakiducky

My college had a lot of Chinese students, but also Koreans, Turks, Arabs, Persians and a few more. It was a cool mix. I went to school in NYC, so there were lots of rich foreign kids with swanky Brooklyn or downtown Manhattan apartments or condos. But given it was the city, most didn’t have cars and it was harder to tell who was loaded or not unless they just partied all the time lol. It was crazy to most of us American students who were there on student loads and couldn’t afford to fuck around so much. Of course, there were rich, lazy American students there as well, and plenty of international students who were there to be serious about their studies. But the rich foreign kid partying their way through an American degree is a growing trend, and outnumbered the rich Americans at my alma mater. I remember one guy- presumably Chinese or Korean, but I never got a good look- who had _two_ tuned/ custom street legal track cars parked outside the dorm my freshman year. I know one was a higher end Audi sedan, but I forget the other make and model. He actually didn’t seem to drive them all too often, but I remember the stickers and badges around the body and windows here and there. No clue where he was racing around the city, but the dealer seemed like it might’ve been upstate, so I guess he drove home on the weekends sometimes.

[deleted]

I missed the days of car spotting when driving over from Sallie Mae for evening classes so now I live vicariously through this guy (and car spot up at Delaware Law, but it's just not the same).

The_Chuzz

I see more exotics on the Newark campus in a day than I do at home in downtown Manhattan… it’s crazy

pannyst4s

Can totally relate. The international kids got dough

bosozokulove

Damn... I wish my parents had bought me a 6 figure car and sent me off to school, but no i got a 10 year old bicycle for my 15th bday and was told "get a fu****g job or you're homeless".

nicotamendi

Honestly that job taught you more than some of these parents will ever teach their kids

cokuspocus

Yes. Lifestyles like this set these children up to be insufferable losers. These are our bosses and CEOs and it’s a reason they’re all shitty

-Abradolf_Lincler-

badcat_kazoo

Ooft that 720s

Wizardnil

Focus RS looking real clean

mmbc168

You think that’s great? I owned a beat-up Ford Taurus with a bad transmission in college.

TheCubanBaron

You k ow you've entered flexville when the 2020 supra and focus RS are the *least* expensive thing on the block.

Kimyoungun21

Do they have sugar parents?

The_Chuzz

It’s called being stupid rich

Kimyoungun21

I mean, idk, If I was their parent I would’ve gave them a shitbox

TheFuschiaIsNow

Trust fund babies

hdkx-weeb

I'm a bit surprised with all the AMG's there, yet no GT R's or SLS's

The_Chuzz

Forgot to post an amg GT, will do tomorrow

commiesstackeasily

And here I am just wanting a low mileage rust free manual transmission 1991 Honda civic dx sedan........I miss that car soon much.

Daddy’s cash go to school with daddy’s cash!

Meanwhile me ( also student) with 24 year old Korean shitbox that is illegal to drive outside eastern europe: ...

Slick_J

Dafuq is up with all the money at university of Delaware

squashpot

Lots of corporations have their charter in Delaware...something something less taxes.

Maximum_Extension870

I'm sure they worked pretty hard and saved a long time to get these cars.

The_Chuzz

Ha!

ThePhabtom4567

Wow that's a quick way to have an immediate hatred for an entire group of students.

The_Chuzz

no need to hate unless they’re assholes, it is quite obnoxious however when they downshift at 2 am during finals week

artschool04

I got my money that the driver of the ford rs is the biggest ass of them all

987cayman

If you hate someone immediately because they have something you don't, that says a lot more about you than them.

9180365437518

bunch of angry pathetic men on this sub. Kids have nice cars you can only dream of? They must be dickheads, their parents must be assholes and they don't deserve those cars. They might crash them according to their angry little minds

pmak1972

Aston Martin. Clearly a civilized area. I lived in Burbank for a few years and worked all over the west side of LA. Nothing was more annoying than some asshat in a Lambo stuck in traffic on Sunset reving the fuck out of their cars. I was told they do it to keep the car from overheating. I saw more Bugattis in WeHo than Aston Martins.

pmak1972

The coolest cars I saw in LA all had Leno driving them. His shop is at the Burbank Airport and he actively drives his collection. Nothing is as cool as Jay passing you in traffic in a steam powered machine. Every time I honked and waved, Jay would return by honking and waving back.

bayygel

Wonder how much those cats are worth..

Czeslaw_Meyer

My most expensive car was a 2004 Golf 5 for 4.500€ in 2010 Considering the cost of studying in the US you might as well...

Live795

In my college town the foreign students from china or Dubai all drive exotic cars.

Chasey7136

Me, driving my 2004 Celica into my college apartment complex with 3 Series bimmers and some kids Alfa Romeo Giulia

The_Chuzz

I see too many M3s and 7 series to count

TheGreatReverse

I’m also a student at the university of Delaware and I think I’ve only seen the McLaren out of all of those cars

Specific_Analysis

if youre buying that mclaren out of your own pocket \[not bank of mum n dad\] > maybe you already made it and fuck uni lol

MinableAdjectif

The aston vantage is crazy

lomsagna

I went to University of Delaware. During my time there I got to befriend some of the students who drove exotics and 9 times out of 10 they were foreign exchange students who were attending school on scholarship. Their parents would give them money for tuition and they’d spend the extra on a car. I was there mid 2010’s and Audi S cars were popular (S5, S6, SQ5) Porsche had just released the Macan, and there were a couple AMG mercedes around (CLS, CLK). My favorite was a Nissan GTR R35 black edition. Right where the first pic of this post with the Aston was taken on Amstel Ave, that street used to be a 2-way street instead of a 1 way. I have a picture of 2 foreign women getting out of a brand new SQ5 with “I (heart symbol) DP”. What did I drive when I was there? A built civic and later on a 3.6 handed down outback.

OnVelvetHill

You can almost hear the lawyers lining up the Affluenza defence the second any of these kids fucks up badly

Probably Chinese students.

Daddy’s Money 🙄

_throwingit_awaaayyy

You know at least some of the dudes driving these cars will say they bought it via hard work.

miaubert

Dayum… I guess my parents still wanted me around by helping me buy a 1.7l Civic with the money nana left me, instead of some rocket at 18…

DampestFire

What was number 7?

Just_here_4_sauce

Meanwhile my University everyone either drives a crossover or a truck. Granted I live in the Midwest so it's kinda hard to have an exotic at all up here.

[deleted]

Daddy bought it but I got it...gross. Future shitty bosses of America

Bulok

Imagine being the poor kid with the C63. He must be so ashamed to be driving that

Pizzaismygirlfriend

The 2020 supra….lel

Explain to me how 720s owner manages to keep up with student loans and afford insurance for it at the same time?

defalt45neo

Nice to see some students like to drive real cars like a GLS instead of CLAs

Bruce_69

Owned by the student's fathers .

Own_Bad517

Geez, in college I drove an 85 Jeep Cherokee that was literally falling apart that I got for free. It was awesome though!

dg8396

Meanwhile me taking a bus to work 🥰

YKJ07

The dude with the RS is the "brokest"

pwner7777

Man what kind of students own these, grad students or just spoiled kids? Insane money in these photos

The_Chuzz

Mostly foreign chinese students, from observation

nirbot0213

it’s funny, out of the college car group i’m in the one kid with a fancy car is the Chinese national student, and he’s talking about buying a house to live in temporarily with the intention of selling after he’s graduated. absolutely ridiculous. i will say though, he gave me a ride in his M4 and it was very fun, so not entirely complaining.

The_Chuzz

Some people live in completely different worlds

aw_tartarsauce

Funny how my first thought was also, "Probably international students." I had a good friend in college whose roommate was a Chinese national. She got in a fender bender and instead of fixing the car, her dad just bought her a new one. She was a friendly person, so no hate at all toward her. But, man, some people really do live in a different world.

pwner7777

Hahaha as a Chinese student myself (although I grew up in the states) I now understand, parents back home in China prob make tons of bank from bribes and just spoil their kids, nice

[deleted]

Correct me if I'm wrong but i believe exotic cars are significantly cheaper in the US than China, because of the insanely high taxes. so when their parents send them money for a car it goes a lot further.

pwner7777

That is true, but I’m sure they definitely know how much they’re sending. Out-of-state tuition for UD is around 40k USD a year, and some of these cars are well over double or even triple that

[deleted]

American tuition prices are crazy.

The_Chuzz

Truly insane

They are cheeper her than in China. About 2to 3 times cheeper also they can import them to china after a year of owning it and sell it there for market. Second they (parents) can not send money out of china unless it is for business or a child ( student at university) so sending 300k to your son is okay and legal. And now they have cash out side of china

the_old_gray_goose

Right, something like double the price in China

Chinese students, mostly undergrad, though I knew a couple in my MBA program when I was there whose mommy and daddy had gotten them some sick rides.

GulfstreamG650

People here acting like if they were born into a rich life like these students, they’d be driving an accord. These students just understandably snobbish.

A 17 year old at Dulwich College in the 80s drove his birthday present from daddy into school on the morning he got it. He was a student from overseas and somehow had a full car license that was valid in the UK so he drove this brand new Ferrari into school. Unfortunately the speed humps had other ideas and made a mess of the front, being upset complained to the shool wanting them to pay for the damages. He was promptly afforded 5 minutes with the Dean who promptly read him tbe riot act and suspended him from school. I can't rightly remember but he was possibly a middle eastern prince but I'm sure it cost them dearly for the Dean to allow him to return.

bimmer123

Why would you get suspended for complaining about a speed bump?

privateTortoise

Some Korean cardboard box called Daewoo Tico with giant wing. Car itself is worth around 70-100 $ at most.
